Steak taco and pork tamale 7/25/22

This little place seemed to be a pretty legit, simple, Mexican joint. I wasn't overly impressed with the flavors in my tamale or my steak taco. Very affordable and reasonably priced.

Best legit Mexican food around. Service is great with friendly staff. Ambiance is welcoming.

This was a great find. One of the women who works behind the counter graciously answered my questions about the menu and had such inviting, good energy. I ordered the flautas which were made fresh and the queso fresco was spot on. The chicken was lightly seasoned and deep fried crispy. The portion size was a little light so go with a burrito if you're starving, of course. A little smoky inside the restaurant.

Perfect! Completely authentic Mexican food. Pastor tacos are great. A must visit very small simple restaurant not much n the outside but very good food. Reminded us of food we ate in Mexico. It's a definite need to find if your into having an authentic Mexican experience

This place is legit! Tamales and flautas hit the spot, THEN I dipped them in the red and green salsa and yummmm, perfection. You can order ahead or dine in.

Service was quick on a Tuesday night! I like that this is one of the only places that really stays open a bit later on the weekdays. The complimentary chips with salsa and queso were... interesting. The chips themselves were good but the salsa and queso weren't the best. I ordered the enchiladas verdes as my main and this was pretty good! I always love having a huge side of refried beans. I ordered the strawberry Agua Fresca and was not expecting it to be the milky/creamy type of Agua Fresca. I was actually really disappointed that it tasted just like having strawberry Nesquik milk. I guess that's my fault for not asking more questions about it though! Overall, the people are nice and service was quick! The decor on the walls is really great also. And tequila shots are only like $6 so it's not badly priced!

My meal, steak bites smothered in a sauce made with my favorite chili, "Chile de Arbol." was really tasty! 2. Nice to see every employee wearing A UNIFORM; simple for sure but COHESIVE. 3. My waiter spoke Spanish with me!! 4. Whatever the music it was THE BEST! Why, because it wasn't am annoying repetitive genre. It wasn't loud Mariachi. It was pleasant, yet culturally true. 5. The wait staff were older - not teen agers so they took their jobs seriously and the establishment then, cared more about hiring professionals vs cheap labor. The only thing i did not like had to do with the seating. The one big dining room was furnished with tables only; big long tables and wooden chairs. I wished there was an option of cozy booths or, big ficus trees or room dividing screens, or maybe creative drapes that would offer a bit of privacy and softness. Nonetheless the downside is minimal and sure wont stop me from returning soon!

It arrived as this dramatic, beautifully constructed tower of mixed seafood topped with avocado and a whole shrimp--definitely a dish that makes an entrance. The seafood seemed fresh, but I discovered that this particular style of mixed mariscos just isn't for me. Some of the seafood had a gray, translucent appearance and texture that I personally didn't enjoy. That may simply be characteristic of the preparation rather than any problem with the dish. I only tried this one item, so I don't think it would be fair to judge the kitchen more broadly based on my personal preference. What I can comment on much more definitively is the noise. It was extraordinarily loud. I eventually pulled out my phone and measured the sound level because I genuinely wanted to know whether it was as loud as it felt. I recorded levels exceeding 100 dB, with peaks around 103 dB. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. Unfortunately, I could barely hear them. I enjoy energetic restaurants and certainly don't expect dinner to take place in a library. But there's a point where "lively atmosphere" becomes something prospective customers deserve to know about before deciding where to spend an evening. This crossed that line for me. If a very high-energy, extremely loud environment is your thing, you may have a completely different experience. If you're hoping to have a conversation over dinner without shouting across the table, I'd choose accordingly. Friendly staff, impressively presented food, and a seafood dish that simply wasn't my jam. But the volume overwhelmed everything else about the experience--and at 103 dB, that's not background music. That's the main course.

They have the robot that brings out food for you like at certain hot pot restaurants. The robot was not precise and it would stop at random table instead of the exact table where it should be. Could be because the restaurant is small for this robot or the set up was not good. Service was excellent. Server came to check on me four times. Plantains were great. The el mar which is a seafood combination dish and included lobster tail, shrimps, and a piece of salmon. The dish was really cheap, only $23.99. The shrimps and salmon were good. The lobster tail was not the most fresh. The meat at body end was soft/soggy. The mixed vegetables were frozen vegetables. Please never ever use frozen mixed vegetables. I would rather pay a little more for fresh vegetables. I didn't quite understand the use of salsa as there were no chips for it. There were tortillas but salsa and tortillas don't go together, am I right? Who knows? I didn't touch neither. This restaurant also has burgers, steaks, and pasta which I haven't tried. I feel like wether you give this a 4 or 5 stars all come down to what you order. An incorrect order will automatically knock it down to 4 stars. It is such a cool restaurant though. I wish Tulsa has something similar.
