For starters, tacos & tequila make me the happiest person alive. Came to Los Compadres today for the first time with a few coworkers after our long busy Saturday shift to eat & have a few drinks. For those of you who haven't been there, it's a small little Mexican bar/restaurant with maybe 10 tables max. I'm not complaining about the food, it was good. What I'm complaining about is the fact that 1. I had 2 large margaritas & 2 tequila shots & I'm still sober Sally. I bartend, I know what color liquor should be...the shot of the Jose Cuervo gold that we took shots of.. should not have been almost clear like it was, it should've been gold. (I'm a big baby when it comes to shots, I make hideous after shot faces...I didn't even make a face) that's how I know their liquor was watered down...my second complaint was the bill. I understand that it's my responsibility to pay for whatever I order & I'm aware of that price when I order it. When the bill came out, it was WAY higher than any of us expected. Mind you, they do it "old school" with writing their own bills, they don't print them out like restaurants usually do now. There was 6 of us, we didn't mind splitting it up amongst ourselves because we were all paying cash & it would be easier than her splitting us all up individually. So, when we got the bill the prices were different than on the menu & we couldn't even read what the items were on there (as shown). We all proceeded to just go along with it, paying what we believe we owed along with our portion of the tip. One of my coworkers questioned our waitress about what some of the charges were & how much things were since we couldn't read it. She than began to explain that each item was taxed 7% individually instead of the entire bill being taxed 7% as a whole. After what seemed like an hour of 20 questions, we just figured we would just eat the price & pay it. But then we asked another waitress who my coworkers had on their previous visit here. After literally prying explanations out of her, she finally admitted that there was a 15% service charge included in the bill. (They added $1 to each item on the bill...instead of noting on the bottom like every other restaurant does... "Service Charge/gratuity: $20" ) SNEAKY. So, we nearly almost tipped this waitress 20% on top of her already 15% tip that she would take out of our bill.. Moral of the story.... Beware of what you're paying for, anywhere.. but especially here.

Chicken enchiladas with verdes ( green ) sauce, Extra queso fresco and onions! the portion is big for 16$! Sooooooooo good!

My sister, mom and I started off with frozen margaritas, which were light on the liquor, but very tasty!

The price is amazing, quality is outstanding, extremely authentic and service was great. A very small restaurant with maybe 3-4 tables but everything is very tight and a bit hot. No AC but one fan. My bf and I stopped by and we were the only ones dining inside, but the door constantly opened with customers picking up food. Our waitress was the friendliest and cutest person ever. Very happy and loved her job. This restaurant does not come with complimentary chips and salsa and the food (besides entrees) do not come with sides. However, the taste and quality is out of this world and so worth it! We ordered shrimp tacos, which came with 3pieces and extremely fresh. We also shared an order of the original tlayuda and chose mixed meat since the waitress recommended it. Very heavy and filling. Can't wait to come back and try other items off the menu!

It had good reviews and Google suggested I might like it based on places I've been to here in Baltimore. So, you know I had to cross reference on Yelp, my most trusted source of recommendations. Yelp said, yes ma'am and I said say less. After some rooftop drinks at Vue bar, I stopped in for takeout. I only browsed the menu briefly, but I knew when I saw huaraches and tlayuda it was going be a hit! There's nothing like authentic Mexican. While I wanted to try a little bit of everything, I'm only one girl and I was traveling solo, so I ordered steak nachos, an al pastor torta, and a single lengua taco. The way I inhaled those nachos, the roof of my mouth be damned! They were so simple, just black refried beans, meat, queso fresco and some pickled veg, yet so delicious. The lengua taco had more of a shredded consistency than the tender chunks I'm used to, but the flavor was yummy and the torta was still great 3 days later. 10/10 would recommend!

The place is a decent size so there are plenty of seats. It's certainly a hole-in-the-wall, no frills type of place. You're not coming here for the ambiance. We really wanted tacos, so that's all we ordered. We were disappointed to find that you couldn't really mix and match the meats. 1 order comes with 3 tacos so if you aren't coming with a big group or if you're not trying to have 30+ tacos you will be limited in what you can try. I wish I could've tried all of their tacos but I wasn't interested in taking a ton to go. We settled on the Tripa, Lengua, Cachete Res, and al Pastor. The tacos came out pretty quickly and they were pretty good. The meats were flavorful and the tortillas were solid. They weren't the best tacos I've ever had, but they were good. Aside from not being able to order just 1 taco, my other gripe is the price. 1 order of tacos is $15 and $5/taco is a little steep in my opinion. Sure these tacos are bigger than your average taco, but as someone who likes to order a variety I have to dock points. I wouldn't mind coming back to Pancho's, but it wouldn't be my first choice for food in AC.

Though I don't usually join them on these jaunts the need for some family time was present and I was able to get a ticket for the bus that leaves from my area fairly quick and easy. I'm in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and the ride is about two hours give or take depending on traffic. Once I arrived and having caught up for a few minutes we decided to get some lunch. My early start found me only having one of those Carnation Breakfast drinks on the bus. There were a few interesting options to enjoy but Mom suggested Casa Taco and I'm not one to argue since I love Mexican food myself. The downside was that they were not yet serving lunch so breakfast it was. We all kept it simple and ordered the "Two Eggs with Meat" listing on the menu. I had scrambled eggs with sausages and my folks the same but with a differently prepared egg. A steaming cup of coffee and orange juice complimented the order. The restaurant was clean and very open in terms of layout and while I didn't catch our servers name she was very friendly and brought our orders out as quick as it was possible. At the end there wasn't a scrap on my plate but like I said I was hungry. So if you find yourself in the Tropicana down in Atlantic City, NJ this is a good recommendation from me. I cannot say when or if I will be back here because I like to try different places whenever I visit somewhere but only time will tell.
