I used Travel With Me for a trip to Italy over a year ago and I thought I left a review then, but i guess I didn't, so here it goes. It was my first trip to Europe and I wanted to take my time and see as much as I could in three weeks. It was a bit intimidating so I decided to try the services of a travel agent and I'm glad I did. I couldn't decide where to go and found that, at first, my plan was a bit too ambitious so Nancy helped me prune it down a bit which turned out to be the right thing to do. She got to know us and tailored the trip to our lifestyle which is un-rushed and we are not "early risers". Nancy arranged everything from having a taxi waiting for us when we arrived, to car rental, to water taxi in Venice, to tours.. etc., but, of course, there were some problems which were out of her hands such as a very ugly problem with Hertz car rental and a small problem with our hotel in Florence. For those who are planning a similar trip let me just say, never use Hertz, and be prepared to do a lot of walking, and be aware that there are a million museums and churches (figuratively) and you will never be able to see them all, but frankly, in most cases, when you've seen one you've seen them all. A mobile phone is indispensable for getting around but be prepared to get hopelessly lost at some point anyhow. Also, everywhere we went, almost everyone spoke English which I found shocking. I tried to learn some Italian before the trip but it was really unnecessary. And did I mention never rent a car from Hertz? The biggest problem, and one that I hope to absolutely avoid in the future, is to break up the plane trip into smaller pieces. Spending 16 hours flying through the air in a cramped aluminum tube is a horrible experience. Just my opinion. Thank you Nancy and sorry for the late review. My family and I just returned from a fantastic 20-day trip to Europe, and it was all due to Nancy's expert planning and guidance. We reached out to Nancy a few months ago with the vague idea that we wanted to go to Portugal and Italy. She put together a wonderful itinerary that flowed well from start to finish. It included everything from wine-tasting in Portugal's Duoro Valley to a private tour of the ruins at Pompeii to sightseeing on the Amalfi coast. She chose great hotels in ideal, central locations, including one in Sorrento with a swimming pool surrounded by lemon trees and another in Monterosso al Mare that was just a few steps from the beach. Nancy was also immediately available to help us out when British Airways randomly cancelled our flight the night before our return. I really dislike leaving bad reviews, so it has taken me a couple of weeks to decide to write this. We had an already-planned 2-week tour of Italy planned with a large group of people. I called Nancy to help the two of us plan an additional week add-on in Sorrento to our trip. She said she didn't usually do this, but she agreed to do this without any coercing on my part. But then she was very erratic in answering my emails, just kept saying we had plenty of time. However, I had other trips to plan for this Summer as well, so I needed the information from this trip from her, in order to make those plans. During the course of our planning, she kept saying "This is why I don't usually do this" which put an unnecessary guilt trip on me. Then near the end of our planned week away, I sent an email her to her for clarification on our flights. She sent me an extremely rude email back. So due to her lack of communication skills, I do not recommend her, and I will not use her service sin the future. I am so sad to report this! :-( read more

My husband and I have worked with Nancy over the years, and this is a long overdue review. Nancy always tries to make sure our vacation goes smoothly and that we don't miss anything important - from visa reminders to the fine print in highly discounted airline tickets. On a cruise couple years ago, I totally forgot the cruise line had a free air offer and I booked my own flights using airline miles as usual. It was embarrassing to find out that I had wasted the ship's free air offer, but amazingly, Nancy was able to get a partial credit for us! So yes, using a seasoned travel agent who has great industry connections like Nancy certainly helps!! On our latest cruise, I had planned to fly into Frankfurt a day early, but due to some miscommunication between the cruise line and Nancy, our flight was booked to arrive the day of embarkation. Nancy was mortified and told me this had never happened before. She tried to change our departure flight but the cruise line would not accommodate. I was disappointed, as we had to scrap our pre-cruise plans. But when I met with Nancy for our cruise documents, she presented me with a Thank You gift which was beyond what I expected. In a nutshell -- Nancy rocks. Now let me explain... First of all, I have -- for many years -- been a dedicated fan of do-it-yourself travel via the web. I'm a bit of a control freak and I like instant results...now that I think of it, I'm likely the primary target audience for travel sites like Expedia, Travelocity, etc. Rewind to a few weeks ago. My husband and I decided to combine a trip to visit his family in Ireland with a trip to the Caribbean. After a few hours online trying to sort through my options....I quickly realized it would be in my best interest to get professional help. Enter Nancy. I won't bore you with a blow-by-blow of the travel planning experience but suffice it to say, she was extremely patient, flexible, and determined to find a trip that suited our budget, dates, and somewhat particular needs (we have a toddler...enough said). At one point, she sat on the phone with my husband for roughly 1.5 hours one night trying to sort through the flight details for the first leg of our trip. In the end, I feel we definitely ended up with a trip my whole family will enjoy. While the online travel sites might seem faster...and sometimes are...I know the time we spent working with Nancy on this trip was totally worth our while. Last month my friend graduated from college and wanted to go on a trip to celebrate. We decided on Latin America. I had a really positive experience with Nancy. My boyfriend and I were planning on going to the Bahamas over Christmas, but getting all the logistics worked out was turning in to a real headache, what with work, kids, house hunting, AND the holidays. I told her the dates I needed to travel, I told her where we wanted to stay, and we got a ball park of what I wanted to spend. I've not used a travel agent for years, but thanks to Nancy, I've returned to the fold. We have a son with special needs who is not a fan of travel anywhere. Nancy spent over an hour with me listening to our unique requirements and made great suggestions based on our need. My husband and I and our younger son loved the island and the fabulous resort. It felt like a mini villa. My older son enjoyed the hotel rooms and was at his happiest in the room, lounging on the floor, the bed, the couch, the chair, grateful for the Disney Channel and the AC! The rest of us enjoyed the island excursions (a 12 hour bus ride around the Big Island gave us a fabulous overview and exposure to both sides of this "island of contrasts." A great deal for families who want a snap shot of all things the island has to offer. Highlights for us were the volcano crater, Thurston Lava Tube and the lush vegetation (and narration) along the way. We also enjoyed visiting Seahorse Farm, a unique and enriching experience and a must for anyone interested in the preservation and conservation of our precious resources. It was so relaxing for us having all the details in place before we left, backed up by Nancy's years of experience booking travel, along with her personal trips to the Big Island. We just returned from 3 weeks in France which was piecing together 2 components that I had self booked and needing something to fill in in-between as well as take care of all the little pieces I missed (like transportation from the airport, LOL!). I emailed Nancy from Travel With Me and gave her dates, general location and interests and said: can you come up with something for me? What we got was the highlight of our entire trip! She worked with Gindroz & Co to put together some options for us and then walked through the entire trip with me to make sure I hadn't missed any pieces (I had). Nancy has been excellent at helping me deal with an extremely sticky travel situation. Last year, I purchased tickets to Peru on Orbitz, but had to cancel the trip due to a leg injury. The airline, LAN Peru, allowed me to book alternate travel on any of their partner airlines, so I had them book a trip to Hawaii on American Airlines. Unfortunately, when I got to the airport, American Airlines said that they never got the funds from LAN, and I had to purchase a new ticket at the gate. So then I went back to LAN Peru to try to book another trip, and they say my ticket has ZERO value. Nancy has been really patient listening to the details of my story. Her 31 years of experience in the travel industry come in handy, as she is helping me get on track with contacting the right people at LAN Peru to try to get my money back or some other form of credit. She is really good at communicating and responds to phone calls and emails right away. I have not actually booked travel with Nancy, so I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. However, once I have my ticket issues squared away, or even for any other future travel, I would not hesitate to use Travel With Me for assistance. I am done with using online ticketing services (i.e. Orbitz, Expedia, Hotwire, etc.) for travel other than simple Los Angeles weekend getaways. Just FYI, in the past I have done my own trips to Argentina, Europe, and India, but looking back a lot of things would have been far less stressful and time-consuming if I had let a travel agent deal with the details so that I could enjoy my time traveling. read more

Honeymoon Heaven. Nancy provided it. Aruba, not bad for airfare and hotel compared to other #1 honeymoon spots. I've been a lot of places and never received such a welcome as ARUBA. Everyone on this "happy island" are there to make sure you are having a good time and "happy too". I loved it there. Melting pot of a million cultures and languages. Food is AWESOME. I don't think we had anything that wasn't superb. Screaming Eagle was the best of all bests though for sure. Atmosphere, decor, presentation, taste and more. Try the Champagne drinks. You'll fall in love all over again I swear. We stayed at the Bucuti Beach Resort. We traveled around the tiny island and viewed the other options of hotels. Bucuti is honestly the number one spot. From the staff, rooms and to the beach nothing came even close to comparison. Defiantly romantic to the core. Take your lounge chairs put them by the edge of the ocean at sunset get a bottle of Champagne and let your honeymoon reach its highest moment. Just thinking about it again brings the biggest smile to my face all over. If I could afford it again we will be back no doubt. Thanks Nancy our travel agent (and friend- i consider her a friend because dealing with my million changes to itinerary and year after year coming back i know she is more than just our Travel agent lady) for making this the best vacation ever. We were able to pay off our trip and have so much fun there with the activities our guests paid for. I am really shocked by the couple of negative reviews here...People, if there is a funeral in the immediate family of a small business owner - perhaps you could give her a break for not getting back to you in 24 hrs??? I have found Nancy through Yelp last year, and had nothing but wonderful service. Last year she helped me plan a Club Med trip and she was wonderful - responsive, thorough, proactive; and she found me a better price than anything advertised anywhere else, and better than my very travel-savvy friend got on her own. This year, we are going to London and then on to Rome and a Mediterranean cruise.First, I called Nancy about another Club Med trip, and she went through a lot of effort to do research for me. At the last moment, I decided that this year we want to go to Europe. Nancy was very gracious about my change of mind, and took my vague input and converted into specific suggestions that could work for me and my family. She demonstrated real understanding of my needs as a customer, gently steering me away from choices that would not have been best for us (river barge in France? with a 9 yr old? perhaps not!), and suggesting a nice set of options. Too many choices can be frustrating, and Nancy was with me every step of the way. A week in London or three days? Cruse from Rome or Barcelona? Norwegian or Royal Caribbean? Balcony of Junior Suite? Shore excursion in Genoa or a day at the beach? Best hotel close to Heathrow? The most amazing thing for me was Nancy was helping me on reservations I made myself. I booked a hotel in Rome using points, but mentioned to her that I was worried because they only have a queen bed and no rollaway option, and we have a 9 year old daughter traveling with us. Within an hour, Nancy called me back: she had Hotel Meridien on the line, and was arranging to change my reservation for another category of room, still on points - but the option was not available to general public online. She was not making a dime on that transaction, and yet she spent time and money calling Rome and arranging for an upgrade for me. This is true customer service. Same thing later that day, when she helped me to get a Hilton Heathrow room that will sleep three - on points. It was not available online, but she could get this for me through her channels. I will certainly use her again, and will refer any of my friends in a heartbeat. This kind of custom service totally exceeded my expectations. read more

Nancy booked a basic trip for me. Roundtrip airfare and a few nights hotel stay. Great customer service; example quick service and prompt email of the details. One day before coming home I broke my foot. Since I was traveling alone, I called Nancy to see what the airline could do "with" me. I knew she would know, and it would take me forever to reach a knowledgeable airline employee on the phone. Nancy took care of everything for me: arranged my rental car to be taken care of and ordered a wheelchair to be at the terminal sidewalk! I was escorted thru security and right to the plane and then again when I landed I was escorted to baggage claim and to the car! I was just doing a search for my friends upcoming wedding and saw Travel With Me! It brought me back to my heavenly honeymoon in Maui, back in 2006! In reading all the reviews I can't belive anyone would have a negative thing to say about Nancy! I am certainly not a personal "friend" of hers as one person commented, and I highly doubt other happy customers are either! All I can say is I had the best trip of my life because of Nancy. Nancy arranged our summer 2018 cruise(s) to Alaska on Princess Lines. We actually did it as two separate cruises, one northbound and one south and on two different ships, with several days in Anchorage in between. In a way, arranging things was twice the work for her and in a somewhat novel situation, but Nancy's effort, patience, and obvious skill at her job were superb throughout. We're not experienced travelers, had numerous questions, changed our minds and plans (hotel dates, flights versus vehicle storage, land excursions) a few times, but Nancy never failed to sort things out and handle all the details. She was friendly, cheerful, and helpful from beginning to end - and especially appreciated in offering tips and suggesting little things that would otherwise not have occurred to us (e.g., getting the most out of the actual time on board ship, plusses and minuses about various excursions and side trips, etc.). Inexperienced, we found Nancy - both local (San José) and highly recommended - online. We're glad we did. For anything like this in the future, she's our go-to travel person, no question. For others, well, I can only say it would be hard to imagine a couple less experienced or knowledgeable than we were, but Nancy came through like a trooper. What could have been a maze of regulations, details, uncertainties, questions, and probable screw-ups instead became three worry-free and relaxing weeks. Nancy booked a trip for us to Barcelona and the cost was definitley reasonable and worked well with us, however when we got to the airport we ran into quite the issue. Nancy had not released my parents tickets, and we were unable to get ahold of Nancy, so it was looking like it would be just me and my girlfriend on the trip. Eventually Nancy called us after countless attempts at trying to get ahold of her, but it was way too late, me and my girlfriend were boarding the plane, so my parents were forced to get rebooked for another flight 8 hours later to Barcelona all due to Nancy's lack of follow thru. nancy is very helpful and friendly, and definitely helps to make travel planning a breeze. she is detail oriented and very thoughtful as well. i had never been to italy, or even to europe, for that matter, but the trip was so well organized, that i felt at ease going from city to city, sometimes on my own. nancy gave me really good travel tips as well, such as where to exchange money, and where not to, what things to look out for, and even had a suggestion for a good restaurant. the trip was totally customized to my friend's and my preferences, and we had a great time! read more
