This is a Mexican supermarket with a restaurant attached on the side. It's authentic, my friends. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you can order $1 tacos of chicken, carne asada, al pastor and barbacoa. There are other items also... it's a small restaurant with a few tables and they will serve you at the table. The supermarket has regular food items to purchase and many Latin American items. Also........... if you want FRESH CORN TORTILLAS, you can buy them by the pound here. They are usually located in the back in a cooler. You can always ask them. They are very nice people. Los Girasoles is a Mexican grocery and they also have a restaurant attached to it. It is a small store, but has a decent selection and I ended up walking out with quite a few hot sauces. The woman behind the counter was extremely friendly and there is plenty of parking in the parking lot. It is an older building, but it was relatively clean and the produce was fresh. I am a fan of these little markets, you can often find unique items that you will not find in Publix, Walmart, Winn-Dixie etc. or whatever and it is supporting a local business owner as opposed to one of those monolith corporations. Last time I posted a review of this business was 9 years ago. Today I was reminded why I don't come to this business very often, arrived here and went in to the store side of this business before going to try and eat something( this business has a restaurant to the left and a Mexican store to the right) we looked pretty quick thru the store not a whole lot to look at here and not much products I was interested in like their competitors in Apopka. After making a small purchase (Japanese style peanuts) we went next door to their restaurant where we just sat for a few minutes before being told they could only serve us "to go" but we wanted to sit and enjoy our meal,keep in mind we sat down at exactly 7:00pm this restaurant closes at 8pm on a Friday but I'm glad we left because your competitors down the street where still open and packed they were also happy to serve us when we arrived a little before 8pm. We ended up walking out and taking my money else where, I will never come back to this business again neither the store or restaurant .The owners should be ashamed of their employees, I ended up spending over $60 in food at another Mexican restaurant near by and I enjoyed the food at the competition, I'm glad I didn't give much of my money to this place. I have had a bad experience here twice one nearly 9 years ago so after that long again today I had a bad experience....but won't happen again because my money will not go to this place of business. If your restaurant / Business is closing in one hour you still have time to serve a costumer who is hungry, I could understand if they were closing 20-30 minutes from when we sat down but this experience will be the last in this establishment and honestly even their store doesn't offer as many items as another local Mexican place near by. read more

You'll miss it if you didn't know what you were looking for! :) As you come in, just take a seat anywhere you'd like and someone will come to you with the menus and ask what you'd like to drink. I always get a Jarrito or a beer when eating tacos! (Cause YUMMM and DUHHH that's why!) I also order the Lengua aka Beef Cow Tongue tacos cause those are my fave go to! The tacos were delicious and served with the original onions and cilantro con salsa verde o salsa rojo (green sauce or red sauce; for all the Spanish nonspeakers!) I love it extra HOT as well so I went for their spicier sauce which was the salsa verde and it was not disappointing AT ALL! Definitely try it out. Visiting a friend and they ordered here via Uber Eats. Some of THE BEST street tacos I've ever had. I looked through some of the reviews on here before posting. The negative ones have nothing really to do with actually food. I've driven past this place hundreds of times but I've never noticed it. It's actually a little grocery store that probably caters to mostly to Spanish foods from the looks of it. Anyway, back to the tacos. I have nothing but good things to say about them and I devoured an entire togo box on my own. The corn tortillas are made in house just like everything else on the menu, according to my friend. The taste and flavor certainly backs that up. We had the steak tacos with the traditional onion and cilantro a top. I loved the salsa and sauces that came with them as well. It was quite the experience! I ordered online through yelp which is also somehow connected to Grubhub. I only have a 30 minute lunch break so that's why I placed the order ahead of time. I got there and it was not ready. Then she rang me up and said this is your total? I showed her my email receipt and she said we don't offer that. Well, a fellow employee heard I was ordering there and he said he was going to order something 15 minutes later. When he got there, same thing happened. I was still waiting on my order. The Food was awesome. I got their famous street tacos. Talk about having some great Tacos and the price is spot on $1.50. I had a few types but the Barbacoa was outstanding. We enjoyed our meal very much. We ordered thru Uber Eats and we are glad we did. Tacos come with double tortillas. We ordered pork stomach, beef, chorizo, deed fried pork and marinated pork. My husband loved them. I had the cheese smothered chicken with veggies that came with some torts. So good. The torts are definitely homemade and fresh. Yum. They also make fresh tortillas all day long and sell them by the pound :) Fruit ice creams and drinks, plus on Fridays - Sundays they sell boiled corn on the cob with all kinds of toppings YUMMO. My favorite corn toppings are mayo w/ grated Mexican cheese and hot sauce! It's clean, they have a bakery, a butcher shop and a restaurant that I have not tried. My mother in law's favorite thing here is the Horchata, which is a rice milk drink served cold, but they also make a coconut, a melon, and a tamarind drink, feel free to ask for a sample it's the only way to make sure you find what you like best! The place as dirty, waited several minutes standing waitIng for the staff to clear and clean a table. The food took forever to be delivered and was not fresh and was cold. We had to ask for silverware even after gettinG our meal. Asking our server when we would be served were only given excuses. There was a large screen tv mounted on the wall that played Mexican musical video that showed half dress performers, not suitable for a family restaurant. We weren't in the mood to cook tonight, so my husband and I decided to try delivery from Los Girasoles. In one word "disgusting". Being as it was the first time ordering from there, I bought a variety of foods to see what they had to offer. I ordered tacos, quesadillas, flautas, a burrito, ceviche, and huarachas. Nothing had flavor, the quality was subpar (the lettuce and tomatoes were soggy, the meat (pork and beef) were cheap cuts), and I didn't even get what I ordered. After my first bite, I thought perhaps I could help the lack of flavor by using one of the included sauces, but that did nothing to help the taste. When aqua frescas come to mind you can either opt to purchase a powder version of horchata powder or you can be honest with yourself and tell yourself you deserve better. La Girasoles provides one of the best aqua frescas thus far in the area of Apopka. You cannot go wrong with the coconut, strawberry, or horchata flavor. One drop and it's possible an addiction can be obtained. You may find yourself daydreaming about it's icy refreshing effects quite often due to the Florida sun. Now in regards to the restaurant inside it's pretty decent. If you go on the weekends prepare to wait a little longer than usual to get serviced. In regards to the food it's pretty cheap and the tacos, sopes are delicious. However it has moderately attracted me to always try the restaurant. The tacos along with the sopes have a wow factor due to it's ingredients but it has not left any memorable mentions. Lots of people bad-mouthing this place. Well let me tell you, go straight to the butcher in the back of the store and get a whole skirt steak - its usually about 3 pounds but could be bigger. You may have to cut off the membrane before grilling it on the BBQ. There is nothing like it anywhere in Orlando. So juicy and tasty. You can eat it like a steak or put them cut up in tacos. Don't worry if the butcher doesn't speak English, just point to what you want or say "arrachera". They are very helpful and friendly. Also the marinated chicken fajitas are great. It's a typical small Mexican restaurant and nothing special; however they make some awesome and authentic Mexican food. Our favorite is their small $1.00 steak taco and they're probably the best we've eaten around that area. You can purchases beer, wine and sodas with your meal. I normally order 15- 20 steak tacos to go and it comes with a onions, cilantro and limes. You can requested them to put those items on the side, so you can freeze any left over tacos. I've always ordered a side of their home made pico de gallo and guacamole with chips for an additional price. Now, I like to go into their market and purchase a pound of their fresh homemade Mexican cheese, cookies and other items . FIRST AND LAST! We visited this restaurant after church in hopes for a good authentic Mexican meal but instead we received a roach in our chips and what looked like a piece of gauze inside of my soup, not to mention the horrible service and welcoming we got. We walked in and sat our selves down as the two waitress walked past us with out even approaching us. As we were about to leave for not being approached one of the waitresses came with menus and chips since she saw us looking around in confusion. We were okay with the chips,they were good but cold until I spotted a roach crawling around the chips. I kindly asked the waitress to take the chips away and tried to move on as if maybe it was a mistake and I ordered my meal along with my family. When i was eating my soup I saw what looked like a piece of gauze inside and I felt disgusted and lost my appetite along with my family members.
