The food is no Bueno! Fajitas have no flavor more like a dry cooked chicken with steamed veggies. Cheese enchiladas don't have much flavor usually it is a red sauce for enchiladas this was more brown and lacked any substance. Also we judge a Mexican restaurant by its salsa. This is a water salsa with chunks of tomato, cilantro, and tomato. Not impressed. We aren't huge fans of los dos but would go there over los jalapeños. We also love Shirley temples at Mexican restaurants I don't know why but they are better there. This one was water a bit of fiz and a ton of cherry syrup. Yuck! Servers didn't care we were there. They weren't happy to be there and it was obvious. The young guy that got us chips and water was friendly and the only reason we have a good tip. read more

All the meals have large portions and the chips get devoured immediately. We stop there for lunch whenever we are in the Camas / Washougal area. I don't know if they hired a new cook or if it's the contaminated water from the Papermill, but we were seriously disappointed. Their salsa is even different. I tried this restaurant twice. The first visit, I found my main meal to be mediocre. The second time I visited, I remembered what was lacking the first time I visited. Thank God! Moved up from California 8 months ago and was struggling to find decent Mexican, Chinese, and Sushi. I can now mark Mexican off of the list. I had the steak fajita and the wife had carne asada. Both were magnificent. Their corn tortillas taste homemade. Their salsa, bean dip, and chips are very good. Rice and refried beans were fantastic. I think it is more San Antonio style preparation. If anyone is familiar with the Alamo Cafe there, it was similar. We have found our go to and we will be back over and over. It's really hard to find a Mexican restaurant with consistently positive reviews (or consistently negative, for that matter). Mexican food is just too subjective! Either it's too salty, or too bland, or too spicy, or too saucy, not authentic enough, too authentic... It's hard to judge by reviews. So, here's my attempt at reviewing my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. I've visited the Orchards/Brush Prairie shop many times, but the Camas store only twice--carry out both times. The food is consistent, and I really enjoy it! It's the appropriate mix of grease, sauce, and spice. I almost ALWAYS get the pollo ala crema, and theirs is the best I've EVER had. They use parm, I think, and it's tangy and creamy and amazeballs! The only complaint I have on it is they only do the chicken and cream, no veggies. So I ask for grilled onions and mushrooms to be added. Then it's perfect. The salsa is only ok. It's pricier than I prefer, but that's my complaint for most restaurants! Can't fault 'em for needing to cover high overhead. Service isn't fantastic, but it is generally courteous. read more

We used to visit this restaurant when they were down on 164th and are willing to make the few extra miles to visit them in Camas. I almost exclusively eat their cheese enchiladas with rice and beans and find it hard to move from that simply tasty dish; however, my girlfriend does enjoy a moving about the menu finding other nuggets of delish. I was stoked to see sopapillas on the menu, but they were sadly prepared differently than I am used to (Tex-Mex, softer sopapillas, served with honey; not crispy with whipped cream and strawberry sauce). The decor is great, the people are nice but the food is not very good. Extremely greasy food. Even the rice is oily. The chile relleno was not actually a chile relleno but a quesadilla with chile slices covered in a block of greasy cheese. The beans are very watery and greasy as well. I CAN NO LONGER IN GOOD FAITH SUPPORT Los Jalapenos (In Camas, WA or even their Vancouver, WA location). I being a 29-year-old cis-gendered male called into order. They refused to take my name for my order, which is not the issue. She then refused to answer any questions I had and started saying "Huh?" every time I tried to say something and then she hung up on me. When I got to the location to get my order she very rudely greeted me when she figured out who I was. Then she started muttering to another employee in Spanish like they were gossiping and looking at me and giggling. Basic message she was spouting off is that I was a trans man and that I needed to learn to grow a penis if I wanted to be treated like a man. Then starts calling me a rude dog and how I was wasting their time and the companies time... she was not even dealing with me. Then when I paid and got to my car I called in and she answered. I told her that I understand Spanish (well parts of) due to working in customer service and she probably should not disrespect and speak rudely of customers when they are in the location. Also, they have no idea who speaks or understands Spanish. She then went into the "HUH?" again and handed me over to a guy and I told him what was going on and he gave me a fake canned apology and I stopped him midway and told him I work retail and I know exactly what he was doing. He basically started stammering then hung up on me. I called into the Vancouver location and spoke to the owner (Martin) and he was livid about the situation. Ordered tacos to go and when we got home and opened the bag, and to our surprise, we see that they were American-style hard tacos, like the ones that you can get at Taco Bell for way cheaper. Not only were the tacos overpriced but the chicken meat was very wet and the shells fell apart as soon as you picked them up. They were also very bland.
