On a road trip and we found this place! SUCH great food, very kind staff and great prices! Don't pass it up if you're in the area!

You can not miss this place, it looks huge from the road. I would describe it as half actual home for a large family, a very large not well cleaned dining room and a huge viewing area for hand made menu that spans the walls. After I took it all in, I ordered a Carnita plate to go.. I was the only customer there, but there were several children running around. My to go order took longer than I expected. I was surprised at the small portion. I was surprised at the less than hot or warm pork. The folks there are friendly and welcoming. Maybe they were having a bad day? This family owned and operated restaurant takes care to ensure you have a wonderful experience We split a mixed fajita plate for $22. It was a huge portion! Lots of shrimp, beef and chicken! The sides of rice and beans complemented well. Seasoning was on point. Salsas we're homemade. They also included wedges on lime which was just the flavor that put the dish over the top. read more

I called and asked if they had parking for semis and the owner said they did so went there and they had a lot of room for trucks. I walked in at about 8:45 and I was the only customer but I think that's just because it was late. It's a big clean restaurant, bathrooms are clean. It feels like a nice family owned joint. I ordered Birria Tacos and a carne asada Burrito with fries, I also got a Horchata. The food was very good especially the tacos. Very good meat and very cheap also. They also brought out chips and salsa which is always a plus at Mexican restaurants. $30 dollars for all the food read more

My experience here was a bit of a mixed bag. The al pastor tacos are delicious! But other things weren't as excellent. So, I had a steak taco salad. The steak was good, but the shell was slightly undercooked in placed so it wasn't crispy throughout. Lettuce and beans were good though. The chips are excellent. But the salsa was a bit off. Best way I can describe it is it didn't have enough tomato flavor. Lot of onions, but that's not really a bad thing in my opinion. The al pastor tacos are awesome. I wish I'd just ordered several of those. The pork had a great flavor! I think it's a place where you have to know what to order. I should have asked the staff for recommendations. read more

Came here a few times so far. Very nice family. If you're in near dinner rush, expect really good service, if you're in on an off hour it can be hit or miss. Great authentic Mexican food with chips and salsa for the table. Salsa comes off a bit like marinara sauce but is otherwise fine. Portion sizes are good and food comes out very quick. read more

The staff hear was very friendly and hospitable. Prices were ok for the shrimp and steak fajitas meal with free chips and salsa. Tortillas were hot and food tasted really good. This is the second time we've been to this fantastic establishment. Last time, was as we were traveling across the country, and were starving! We came across Los Jalapeños on Yelp and decided to give it a try - we were not disappointed! This year, while making the same trip, we stopped in again. The restaurant is very unassuming from the outside, but when you enter, the feeling is warm and welcoming. There are many tables to choose from, and the entire place is spotless and ready for you to take a seat and enjoy the meal of your life. We were immediately greeted with a smile, and we explained how we'd been in a year prior and were so happy to see that they were still there. My son ordered three tacos (pollo, asada, and al pastor) with cilantro and onions. I got the two taco combo (both asada) with cilantro, and it came with rice and beans. We also got a Mexican Coke (the best soda!) and an aloe vera juice. The meal came with delicious chips and salsa, as well. My son said it was the best restaurant meal he'd had in a long time. Mexican food in a little town in Nebraska? Los Jalapenos is a nice restaurant with pretty decent Mexican Food. The menu is extensive and price is very reasonable. The restaurant size is rather huge. We came during lunch and they served us tortilla and salsa. The salsa was okay, nothing special. It's free, so that's nice. My girlfriend and I ordered tacos and a torta to share. My carnitas tacos were solid. The pork tasted juicy and tender. It was solid. The carne asada torta was good as well. Not super good, but pretty decent. Service was good and price is good. Top tier Mexican food. The tacos Al pastor are some of the best I've ever had. The red salsa leaves a little to be desired, but the salsa verde that comes with the tacos is probably my favorite thing of the whole meal. I could put it on anything and it would taste good. Based on a 5 star rating from a large number of reviewers, we stopped here on a road trip. Just about 2-3 minutes off of I-80, we were all happy we took a break here. Large, bright, spotlessly clean, family-friendly dining room and delicious food! Our group had queso dip, a chicken burro, tamales, flour tacos - asada and chicken, and chicken tostada. Very large portions at good prices. Two of us (regretfully) could not finish all of our food. We would share the burro if we return. Menu shows pictures so you can have an idea of what to expect. I had the beef taco salad and it was good, albeit a bit heavy on the lettuce. My daughters had a cheese quesadilla with rice and beans (she gives it 5 out of 5) and chicken nuggets with fries (fries were tasty and she did not like the nuggets, but she is a tween and does not really like much these days). Driving from Breckenridge Co to Chicago and looking for dining spots before retiring to Lincoln NE to stay overnight. Thought Lexington would be a good place. Read the other reviews and thought we'd give it a shot. Being Mexican and from Chicago, I'm pretty critical about my Mexican food. This place didn't disappoint. It appeared to be run by a husband and wife with a steady flow steady of customers coming in. I got 2 tacos of carnitas and 2 of carne asada. My husband got the same. These tacos were excellent!! Tortillas were homemade and just a little crispy. Tacos were on the smaller side (pretty typical of traditional Mexican tacos) so be sure to order plenty. We didn't eat inside because we're traveling with our pooch, but place was clean and service seemed quick. Definitely a must if you're in the area. read more

Wife likes a green chili pork burrito or Chile verde, so I asked them to make a pork burrito and smother it with the verde sauce. The shredded pork was fabulous, and the burrito as huge.
