We have been here several times as this is the closest to our current home. The menu is fairly extensive and our absolute favorite choice is the steak fajitas. Their marinade and grilling process delivers a very tender and oh-so-tasty experience. The salsa was mostly onions with lots of tomato juice. It was thin, but pretty good,'very little heat, if any. The chips were obviously not homemade which was a disappointment. I ordered Enchiladas Souiza with a chicken and a beef enchilada. Neither were tasty. The green sauce was clearly from a can and the beef and chicken fillings were tasteless. We regularly eat from here. We've been customers since 2015 and seen the 117th location go through up's and down's. However, this past year- There's too many onions in salsa and pico. Tomato's were nasty. The onions they use in fajitas used to be sautéd perfectly keep waiting for it to change but has not and they've been skimping on meat cheese and guacamole. use to get separate containers for each now all in one. and cheese sometimes barely on beans with none on side. the cost is ridiculous for the sides of these extra items and not worth paying for. The worse Mexican food I have ever had. I got the Chimichanga de Marisco with shrimp and crab meat. The shrimp were barely even detectable and the crab meat had a bleach taste. I will start by saying the staff was awesome and the service was great. When it comes to the food it was terrible. My son got a chorizo burrito and it was a soggy mess. Which chorizo should be but this wasn't greasy it resembled something frozen because it was watery. I got a chile relleno and chicken enchilada. The chicken was very bland enchilada had no sauce very dry and the Chile relleno seemed like it was not battered just cooked with a egg around it. I thought that was interesting and it wasn't bad. My daughter got a shrimp fajita it was good. My middle child got a beef enchilada and two beef tacos. The beef was cheap looking seemed like it was cooked the day before though it may have been fresh. But it was bland and unlike any beef I have had. Enchilada dry stuffed with the same terrible beef. This is my third time giving them a chance and at the time of 100+ dollars which is normal for us we will not be back until something changes. Would have given another star had the taco shells not been ones they purchased from a big box store ( think Taco Bell crunchy). Ack...what a HUGE disappointment! Los Jalapenos seems like it has everything going for it. Helpful, knowledgeable staff, big portion sizes, reasonable prices, good location, but sadly falls flat on its face when it comes to the food. We received a tostada with our to-go that we didn't order, and I'm glad we didn't. It was soggy beyond belief. Its toppings were also flavorless, so the vast majority of it went straight into the trash (the dog wouldn't eat it, either). NONE of the food was even remotely spicy, and the non-spicy items (refried beans, rice, etc.) were bland beyond bland. Nothing stood out as being even remotely good. It was all far inferior to frozen Mexican food. The only thing keeping Los Jalapenos from getting one star was how nice, accommodating, and friendly everybody working there was. read more

We just looked up Mexican places close by and happened upon this gem of a restaurant that will DEFINITELY be a regular place we go to when we're in Vancouver! The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you get inside it looks very nice! They give you these GREAT chips, beans, and salsa to start with (not unusual lol!) The service is great and VERY fast!! I was really impressed by it! I ordered the Fajita Burrito with Chicken instead of Steak or the other few options, and I'd have to say that it was pretty great, but not the best that I've had! We went around 3pm on a very warm Sunday. It was our first time here. The wait staff is very friendly, if a little absent a lot of the time despite the place being empty. I ordered steak fajitas and my partner ordered chicken fajitas, as well as a Cadillac margarita. The chips, salsa, and bean dip at the table were nice. The salsa was flavorful despite having zero spice (but it's Vantucky, so I expect that). The margarita came out first. Salt, on the rocks. In a plastic glass fresh out of the dishwasher so it was quite warm. Hmmm. That was a bummer. Our Fajitas came out next. I got corn, he got flour. I tasted the beef and he tasted the chicken and then we swapped to make sure we weren't hallucinating. "Um...why does the meat have a soy sauce marinade?" "No shit! I was thinking the same thing, almost teriyaki flavored." The food was pretty decent, but I wouldn't order the fajitas again. I'll start with the good: Friendly staff. That being said, when I eat out, I'm not interested in paying nearly $20 a plate for someone to be courteous. The food is bland and is a sad reflection on Mexican food. Tips for the back of house: 1) Enchiladas are supposed to have sauce. I got wet meat in a tortilla with 1/4 inch of oily melted cheese on top. No sauce. Bland food made from low quality ingredients. 2) Salads should not have melted cheese on top of them. I got a pile of wilted lettuce, again with 1/4" of melted cheese on top. This was disgusting. the entree that went with this was also just just bland. I think they called it Mexican chicken. It appeared to be a thin red soup with over-cooked bits of shredded chicken. Surprisingly for meat served in a runny liquid "sauce" the chick was hard and dry. 3) Pork taco served in a stale, hard corn tortilla shell. This comes off again as contempt. The pork was hard and dry. We threw this item away after the first bite. Food served with this little consideration for the actual preparation for the dish you are serving feels like contempt for your customers. I will never come back. I will enjoy telling friends just how bad our experience was, because now that this experience is behind me, it's so bad it's funny. But last night I was just pissed about paying so much for something I would be embarrassed to have made in my own kitchen. read more

Went and explored more of Washington state By visiting a friend that lives in Vancouver Washington. He chose this Mexican spot for dinner. When we arrived we waited in the waiting area and really wasn't greeted. I understand the girl was or seemed to be distracted. We finally got our booth and everything went better from there. Prompt chips and salsa were dropped on the table. I'm not much of a salsa guy however the salsa was very good. Maybe a touch too much onion but it was really good and my friend had the other dip and he enjoyed it. Our waitress then came right after for our drink order and we ordered right away. I had my go to beef and cheese enchilada with rice, and my friend had the fajitas and a taco. I usually get guacamole, but he and I had been talking and it slipped my mind and I just kept eating the salsa which was fine. Our food came out in good time and both of our plates were hot and my meal was very good. I didn't ask my friend if his was good because I didn't need to since he finished all of his. Lol Afterwards they give you a chip with a whip cream element on top. The waitress was attentive throughout our visit, and the manager even came by and said hello which you don't see very often anymore in restaurants.
