I don't understand the lower reviews for Who Song & Larry's because my impression has been highly favorable! We were seated on the patio, the weather was perfect and the view of the water was *chef's kiss* (especially after a LONG day of driving from CA). We were greeted promptly by our server, Jorge, he brought us waters and some water for my sister's dog as well. We decided to share the skirt steak fajitas and wow were they delicious! Every accompaniment was equally as good from the beans, to the guacamole to the rice. My only negative was that our water was never refilled, but that's minor so it's all good! We went to Who Song & Larry's on Sunday afternoon of Cino de Mayo week. The place was packed, we just waited for five minutes to be seated. We ordered our favorites taco/tostada salad and a wet burrito. Nice presentation, but the contents was rather meh. The burrito was lacking the beef, there was way too much refried beans or was the restaurant low running low on the beef? The same goes for the chicken in the taco salad, not much in there, more lettuce fluff, not much flavor. The salsa that was served was like salt water with tomato sauce. The quality of the food went way down. The service was okay considering it was a Sunday on Cino de Mayo week. Their website menu prices need to be updated. The food and ambiance was good. The chips and salsa are outstanding. We had the carnitas and it was very good. The only issue was the margaritas, which is kind of a deal breaker. We did the flight, and the blackberry one tasted like a really sugary mix. The mango was ok, the house was ok. I had the Cadillac so i think that helped, but still it was not a really good marg. Service was great, outdoor patio was good, but needs a cover. So, worth a try, and if you aren't going for margs, then definitely worth a try. read more

What can I say about this place. The food is mediocre at best. The prices are still pretty high. The service is good but this is the same old run down place that it had always been. We sat upstairs to watch the Christmas boats go by. There were cooler, 5 gallon buckets and towels on the floor trying to catch the drops coming down from the leaky roof. I got the steak burrito and it looked like cat food coming out of the burrito. I ate half of it and too the rest home with me. The rice was only like two tablespoons of rice. Very little of you ask me. The beans were just ok. I do not think I will come back again and the only reason why I did come back was because a group of us were meeting there. We had a 6:45 reservation. It took 15 minutes to get our table. Then we waited about ten minutes before we had anyone come to take our drink order. By then we were ready to order our food. It took another 10 minutes before our drinks arrived and still no chips/salsa. Tow of the five forks still had rice stuck to them. Once the poor runner came out he gave us another tables rice and bean plates and tortillas. Once they figured that out they brought a second set of rice, beans and tortillas which is fine but it was all stacking up. We finally got our food and didn't hear back from anyone for a while. We decided to just go in and get our own boxes and leave. Totally understaffed; we won't be back. Also the restrooms were disgusting; the girls made comments I won't say out loud. This is a definition of a cantina. The location is very nice and has a nice view of the Columbia river. The service was good and friendly staff. The food however could be a bit more seasoned. It was lacking in flavors. The complimentary chips and salsa was delicious. I had the mojito flight and spicy pina margarita which were all delicious. I wish it was stronger or had more alcohol. Sorry, I have to take a star off because my salad never arrived. I always look forward to having their salad. The dressing is great and they put these seeds (sunflower kernals, but huge), and it makes it taste so yummy! Unfortunately, I did not get my salad and as silly as it sounds, it throws my whole experience off. Honestly, I come for THAT salad. Yes, I could have had them make me one but then the food would get cold and it was just not worth it. I ordered the carne asada and it was great. The server was apologetic and after that he was on point with everything else. I will always return to this place. I appreciate the parking lot and not having to park on the street somewhere. I've been going to Who Song & Larry's in Vancouver for years, and let me tell you, this place used to be the spot. The food was always fresh, flavorful, and came out looking like somebody in the kitchen actually cared. The restaurant was clean, bright, and had that "we take pride in this place" energy. I used to walk in excited, knowing I was about to eat good. But lately? I'm honestly disappointed. The last few visits have felt like I stepped into the same building but a completely different restaurant. The cleanliness has slipped, and that's putting it politely. Tables aren't wiped well, corners look like they haven't been touched in ages, and the whole place feels like it needs a serious scrub-down and maybe a prayer. The food isn't what it used to be either. It still tries, but the flavors don't hit the way they did before. My plate used to look like a fiesta. Now it looks like the party ended early and everyone went home tired. The salsa used to be bold and loud; now it tastes like it's shy and doesn't want attention. The staff is still friendly, and I can't blame them they're doing what they can. But even great service can't fully cover up the fact that the restaurant itself has lost some of its spark. You can feel the difference the moment you sit down, and it's frustrating when you've been loyal for so long. I'm not giving up on them completely, but they seriously need to pick things back up. Who Song & Larry's used to be a favorite, and it hurts watching it slide downhill like this. I'm hoping they wake up, clean up, and bring back the old magic. How could it get any better than that? Well, they certainly know how to waste the advantage. Time for them to move on... First, the place is filthy. That's just simply it. It's gross dirty. Tables are sticky and filmy. Food on the floor. It smells badly inside. They always have a significant wait but 1/2 their tables are empty. The staff is just terrible. Honestly, they turn staff over constantly. Once in a while you get a newbie that is friendly for a tip but it's just sad. The food isn't even mediocre. It's gross. HORRIBLY OVERPRICED. HORRIBLY. The portions are poor. Chips & salsa is disappointing. Drinks are all ice and filler. Just junk. The place is run down, gross, HORRIBLE lighting. One fan could have a LED light and a 100wt spot light all in one. It's jarring and uncomfortable killing any hope of ambiance. The roof is unsanitary, leaking and being caught by towls on the floor and buckets. Someone should honestly call the health department. There is no way this place passes code. We were a party of four. We waited 15 minutes to get our drinks. We waited 45 minutes to get our food. My fiancé and my enchiladas came on a plate with cold food on it. Asked them to take it back. 20 minutes later they did come out with hot food this time and it was perfectly fine to eat. However, the waitress and server informed us that the chef said we should not put lettuce or salsa on it cause that's what made our dishes cold. That is was an idiotic excuse. The plate and inside of the food was cold and there's no way lettuce or salsa would make it cold like that. Told two managers about it and nothing was addressed except an apology. Went for happy hour, host stand had 4 people up there but not one even looked my direction, and they did see me....so I decided to just ask loudly "is the bar the only area for the happy hour?", once I got my answer and walked to the bar, had to again ask loudly as I tried getting attention of multiple employees "is that table over there considered the bar?". I got my answer and sat, I suppose because the happy hour is such a steal, that's why they have very limited seating. My friend and I ordered a handful of things, the food....I mean I guess you get what you pay for.....it all tasted microwaved. The birria taco I didn't take a picture of the inside but when I opened it, there were 3 small pieces of beef only. The queso is just velveeta, trust me, I know my velveeta lol. Margarita flight for $10 is a steal for sure, although I also got the Mexican candy shot, which was $8 for one and the same size as one of the margaritas in the flight, weird. As I said the price is a steal but I'd rather pay more for better quality, I sure hope they don't make the same food they have on their happy hour, on their regular menu. It was a hot day, the blinds were up at my table, sun beating on me, like legit sweating, it was warm inside, so I lowered them a bit. I went to the restroom (which by the way the floors are so dirty, saw dead flies), when I came back the server pulled the blinds up again... I honestly don't think I'll be back I'd give a 2 star rating but our server was very sweet and personable. Came here for the first time after spotting their big happy hour banner coming over the bridge, it definitely worked. I brought my daughter along, but unfortunately found out that happy hour is only offered in the bar area, which we couldn't access since she's a minor. Even the happy hour marketing on the table didn't mention it was bar-only, aside from a note on the margarita promotion. What made it especially disappointing was that I asked the host about the happy hour menu when we arrived, and he seated us without mentioning that we wouldn't be eligible for happy hour pricing. That said, our server Mauricio and manager Abby were both very kind and helpful, which I really appreciated and they even honored happy hour pricing for my first round, which was a nice gesture. The flautas came highly recommended for good reason, and the tableside guacamole was fantastic. I would've definitely stayed longer if happy hour applied to our table, maybe next time. read more

Visited for family birthdays celebration meal. We chose to sit out on the patio, as it was nearing sunset. We did have a bit of wait for a table, but it wasn't too long. Service was good for most part, until the food was delivered & nothing more after that until time for the check; I asked for more salsa 3x & it was never provided As for the food, I can only speak for my own meal, which was of 3 shrimp tacos. They were good, however, being given each taco with only one corn tortilla - well, they fell apart quickly + I would've appreciated the additional flavor of which 2 corn tortillas would've lent. The beans & rice were just ok, nothing spectacular. The beans being served in a small bowl because they are just cooked pinto beans & not refried, which I found to be a nice change from the ordinary, but I wanted more salsa for more "umph" (LOL) of the beans as well as the rice. So my son gave me his salsa, which can be seen front right of my plate. In the center of the table is an appetizer ordered of chicken nachos. Across the table is the Macho combo, which is of 4 items & beans & rice. My grandson stated his torta was good. We loved them, and the accompanying beans, rice and especially the corn cake. The issue is the shortage of servers/staff to assist. Armando was terrific but he simply had too many tables and area to cover. Then I saw the Manager, possibly the GM, giving a tour of the restaurant to a new employee. The timing of the training was ridiculous. The Manager should have been assisting the team. The trainee could have been encouraged to assist as well. read more

I'm surprised there aren't higher star reviews here but I'm from out of town and maybe I'm just enamored of the outdoor riverfront dining. My cousin brought me here on a visit so we were not in any hurry on a Saturday before Mother's Day. It was 3:30 and we thought it wouldn't be busy but we're told they were in a shift change and it would be 5 minutes. It was at least 15 minutes. Perhaps this is not the best choice if you're in a hurry but a great choice if you're wanting a relaxing meal. All the service seemed slow but who cares if you're relaxing? The river was beautiful. A cruise ship went by. A barge being pushed by a tugboat went by. It was a LOVELY ADVENTURE. If I visit here again I want to come back. The food was great. I had my go to favorite, a chili relleno a-la-carte and it was WONDERFUL. I've been very disappointed with my rellenos recently at other restaurants and have left low star reviews because if you can't make them right don't put them on the menu. So the deliciousness of this relleno might have earned 5 stars even without the riverfront dining. Everyone loved their food. I think the mild SALSA was spectacular. It's a coursely blended salsa and perfect for chips. The guacamole was chunky and delicious but I would have liked to salt it more and they did not have salt on the table. With slow service getting us more chips and even slower service getting us more salsa, I did not ask for salt. So yes...this might not be a great choice if you're in a hurry BUT it's a great choice for overall ambiance and especially a wonderful waterfront dining experience. I attended a vet conference here and it was a great location. The conference area was large and quite spacious. Our waitress did her best to serve all 40 of us. The food was delicious and the buffet style set up kept the food hot. This is a great place for team meetings, large parties or just yourself. I can't even remember the last time I was here. I stopped in the other night to meet a few friends and was surprised at how busy they were! Parking lot was so full. Staff was nice and friendly. Today was such a disappointment. I brought a friend from out of town here because it was a gorgeous day and of course the river view. I've always enjoyed the food as well. Today the service was extremely slow and unattractive. We literally sat before anybody came over to us with some water for 10 minutes. Then it was another five minutes or more before the waiter came. We received a huge basket of chips with their good salsa. Always tasty. We chose to have the grilled mahi-mahi tacos. No cocktails today. My friend does not drink. I had an iced tea which was over three dollars? Not even a refill. When the tacos came to the table, I could smell the fish before he sat it down. Normally I would automatically send this back. I did not want to make a fuss because I chose to ring my friend here. Upon tasting them, they were just OK. It was one small piece of fish in the middle of a bunch of Toppings. One flimsy corn tortilla that fell apart. Again, the waiter never came back until we were halfway through our meal. I did not say anything and just asked for some to go containers for the chips and the beans and rice, which are always good. Very disappointing today.
