Food is always good and so is the service. Restaurant is very clean. Definitely a favorite go to for me and my husband.

Nothing spectacular, aside from the size of the building and the seating area. Overpriced considering it's not 4 star quality. Margarita was decent but the food felt/tasted cheap made. The re-fried beans lacked flavor as did the chicken our tacos. Waiter didn't check back and seemed irritated to be there. This is a normal Mexican restaurant. I did enjoy the guacamole. Rice, beans and cheese sauce were all average. The Tamale comes with pork and was ok but not as moist as I like and the sauce was bad. I tried to use the online menu, which was hard to read, and when I misunderstood the blurry menu and questioned the lady at the counter about it, she gave me an asinine attitude and acted like I couldn't read correctly, all while barely speaking understandable English to begin with. 14 dollars was wasted at this place. Underwhelming would sum it up. Plate sizes are really big, and the good size portions of complimentary chips an salsa were given. The combo I had was decent -- taco, 2 enchiladas & retried beans. I did 1 enchilada chicken & the other 2 items steak. I enjoyed the steak & would get it again. Beans were good; slightly heavy on the salt & served with a nice cheese topping. I also asked for tequila with one ice cube & received it swimming in ice. Also not a good tequila selection unless it was just inexperience on the waitress's part. My 10yr old son got arroz con pollo. I didn't try it, and he ate it though what ever it was, it was not arroz con pollo. Only one of my kids liked their lemonades -- not like them at all. Maybe it was diet? Two hardly touched it. My wife got the chicken fajitas. She said it was okay. We had to ask again for corn tortillas after getting flour -- only a small inconvenience. The plate of toppings to go with it was okay the one exception guacamole wasn't guac -- runny & more like a salsa (not a great one). Worse of all, her margarita (on the rocks) tasted like a premix. She didn't even finish it; I knew why after experiencing the after taste for myself. Not likely we'll have the chance of trying it again as we picked up dinner driving through. Stumbled upon this restaurant A wonderful FIND it was!!! Was greeted, promptly seated. Restaurant was clean and inviting. Server was friendly, charming and knew his menu. First off let me start off by saying the Chips and Salsa were phenomenal! Chips were served warm. They are light and crispy just the way I like. The salsa was a great mixture of tomatos and seasonings. Not too spicy yet not boring. I ordered the Steak Tampequnia. Steak cooked to order, seasoned and juicy. Rice was cooked the way it should be. ...not too moist. Beans were homemade just like way you want in Mexican foods. Husband ordered combo #1. He was very pleased with his meal also. He stated the beef had a great flavor. We ordered the Queso, aka. Cheese dip. It was really good. All in all this was very well received visit to a gem of a restaurant. Walked in with very great service, Got sat down in less than a minute.( very crowded). When we sat down chairs were kind of uncomfortable. Very big menu servers could be better. Very fresh salsa and chips along with the very good water. In my party of people someone ordered some queso with their chips, the queso was very good and didn't take that long to bring out. It's on the edge of a shopping center we'd usually just pass by, however, it's a gem in an outskirts place. It reminding me of back home California style Mexican food. I had the chili verde and it was amazing!!!!! My husband has the arroz con pollo, he said it was the almost the best he's had (he got it without the veggies). The service was also super nice and friendly. I also had a lime margarita on the rocks; to be honest it wasn't that good and I wouldn't order a second (lime mixed tasted like soap) but it had tequila in it so I sucked it down. I arrived in town to find everything under feet of snow, so I wanted something delivered and since i was in a hotel the staff here agreed to deliver! I had a bean burrito and some guacamole dip. This place has delicious food! Their wait staff is very attentive and friendly. Their chips are fresh and served warm with some of the best salsa we've had in ages. I ordered the veggie fajitas & they were delicious. I would def order them again. Hubs has a combo plate with a taco, tostada and more and he like it all. We heard of this place from a friend who lives in Macon & her review that this place "is fabulous" was spot on! Good Mexican for such a small town, had a steak burrito, it came on a plate with sauce on top, menu didnt say that, had to eat it with a fork and knife like a sober person, chips a little flimsy but they worked, sour cream was imitation, Corona was served in a incredibly frosted mug, I don't drink much but that beer was really good, chilli relleno was ok but it wasn't roasted enough and could have had twice as much cheese, guacamole was very good too, heavy duty corn chips wooda sealed the deal but I made the thin flour chips work, overall town only has 5000 ppl so when you need a break from my favorite Taco Bell be glad this town even has a somewhat Mexican joint. read more

I go here whenever when I am home. This place says mexican but really it is good Tex-Mex. I love the taco salad. Also I love the steak fajitas and the beer is super cold. Also the staff will go out of there way to make you happy. My grandma has health problems and they made sure she could get around and they adjusted their recipes to fit her diet. Also the bathrooms are really clean too. El jimador is the the best in the city limits of macon. read more

Stayed in Macon a couple nights for work and had dinner here. Not a lot to choose from in Macon and I didn't want fast food. From the outside, there was nothing that makes this place look special, but a packed parking lot is always a good sign. Seated immediately. Served in record time. Place was clean. That puts it at 2 stars. The food however takes it to 5. Now granted, nothing fancy about this place but the mexican was truly mexican. Fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked meats, tortillas that melt in your mouth, and the best darn chile relenos i've had maybe ever. Oh and the staff was extremely nice. Affordable. I tried Mexican food in dozens of states in every corner of the U.S. and this place is definitely the most delicious with great small town hospitality and big portions for their prices! I'd all but finished my lunch when I looked into my glass of unsweetened iced tea and discovered a dead fly floating. When I managed to catch the waiter and tell him, he took my cup (and it's added protein) and left for parts unknown. When he returned, he apologized, but let me know that the owner would only comp out my drink and that I still owed for my lunch. First off, SMOKING in the restaurant totally ruined it for me! Secondly, the food was not the best. My husband ordered a chimichanga and enchilada with ground beef and beef tips. Even asked the waiter what the meat was inside. They came with chicken. But our waiter never came back to ask how it was so we weren't able to tell him it was wrong. Also, they didn't bring us chips and salsa til 2 minutes before our food came. No silverware was brought either (We had to ask).......Meanwhile the OBESE owner/manager was stuffing her face with food and smoking giving orders to everyone!!! This is probably the most expensive mexican restaurant I have been to in a very long time. It is a typical mexican place and the food is mediocre. Maybe it is because there isn't any other restaurants around that they get by with charging as much as they do for what they have. I am definitely not impressed. The wife and I bought a typical dinner that should have been around $20 and was $33 plus tip. I won't be back. I should have been able to get a fajita dinner for two for what I paid.
