Los Rios Rock School is the best! My son cannot wait for his third summer camp with these guys. After his first summer camp a few years ago, we moved out of state. He's tried other rock schools and none are as good as LRRS. Now, we make the trip back to SoCal every summer and schedule our family vacation around a camp week at LRRS! It's not only that the teachers are super talented and kind, but they also demonstrate a love for music that is so authentic, it's really inspiring. The progress that my son makes after attending camp is phenomenal - it's as though he leaves LRRS every summer with more motivation to practice and learn new instruments. After a few summers, my 12-year-old son plays keys, guitar, bass, and this year he wants to add in drums. If you have the chance to get your kid either in camp here or in lessons, do NOT pass up the opportunity! I can only imagine where his music talents would be if we still lived in the area and could practice with LRRS year round! read more

LRRS Teachers are exceedingly good at playing their instruments and also at helping guide students to grow musically whilst having fun ( most teachers also perform Gigs in their own right). I joined the LRRS adult band two seasons ago and have had a blast and learned a lot and also enjoyed performing at Stillwater and HH Cottons with other adult students. I thoroughly recommend LRRS to a parent who wants to explore their sons & daughter's musical potential and also to adults who have messed around but never taken their music to the next level. LRRS has really been a dream for our son (14) and us parents. Our son wanted a place where it was fun but music was taken seriously, and he could grow musically, and in unlimited ways...LRRS has not let him down. He has done a summer camp, open jams, individual lessons, gotten help for an audition and will be joining the live band soon. All the way along the management, staff, and teachers have all done everything to meet our crazy scheduling needs, but most importantly do everything they can to help our son meet his musical goals. Our son has a really wide variety of musical tastes, and desires for learning guitar, bass, keyboards, singing, and drums, a tough task for any school but not for LRRS! Another part my son likes is how professional, approachable and friendly the staff and other teaches are. Often helping him with a quick lick, tip, or talking about a band while he's waiting for his lesson. One more cool thing is LRRS also see this as a place to help kids learn responsibility, friendship, socialization, teamwork, and managing responsibilities as well as learning tunes and putting on a good show. Our 13 year old daughter started with a week during the Summer and had such a good time she enrolled full time this Fall. She has regularly been attending the weekly jams on Monday, band rehearsal on Saturday and a weekly private guitar and (mostly) vocal lesson with Olivia. Her teacher and the facilities are great and (especially considering it's rock and roll) they are very well organized. I am excited that my daughter Ava has enrolled at LRRS. She has always loved to sing but was reluctant to share her voice with others. Ava has been taking voice lessons with a wonderful vocal instructor, Coach Chariya. She has show wonderful growth and will be performing multiple songs at the House of Blues this November. Ava enjoys attending her group lessons on the weekend and looks forward to her time with the other students. I highly recommend LRRS. It is worth the investment. read more

This place is awesome! Been to a few shows now and you wouldn't believe how talented these kids are. Playing all your favorite classic rock and new songs. Seen them at some pretty killer venues, House of Blues, Coach House, Yost Theater. So cool that these kids get to play at venues where some of their favorite musicians have played. Both my boys attended LRRS for years since the winter of 2013, the year they would have quit music classes we provided through private tutors. Four and half years later, my older grew his love for Rock, Country and anything in between. He plays his guitar almost every night after his sports trainings or his homework. My younger son would play drums on the iPad when I drove him to places. Thank you, for all the teachers and mentors at LRRS, who gave my sons a life long love for music. #smallthanks It would be tough to leave LRRS this fall when my older is going to HS and plays on a HS sports team. If any of you have children interested in rocking out, then this is the place for you! They provide a place where kids can learn and grow under the guidance of experienced musicians/teachers/mentors. I saw one of their performances at The Coach House and was really impressed with the entire production. The owner even had his little baby up on the stage which created a family friendly feeling. I wish there was something like this school around when I was younger. I recommended this school to my brother (his 13 year old daughter plays guitar) after seeing the show and how encouraging the staff is to the children. My son is 8, has Autism and goes to Los Rios Rock School. It has been a life changing experience for him. He loves to sing, is learning how to play the keyboard/piano as well as drums. Tyler is nothing short of fantastic with my son! He is patient, caring and most of all teaching my son the fundamentals of music. If you have a kid and they love music GO TO LOS RIOS ROCK SCHOOL NOW! What an amazing place! The Los Rios Rock School facilities and equipment are first class as are the teachers. The professionalism and overall passion that the owner exudes as well as the electric atmosphere they have created make it a very special place indeed! Just went to their show at The Coach House and watched over four dozen children blow the roof off with an amazing 37 song set in front of like 800 people...all my wife and I kept saying was wow, what a special place LRRS is. Our son not only loves the school, he is doing better than we could have ever imagined. Their approach at Los Rios Rock School is groundbreaking as they really push the kids to go beyond their skills to excel very quickly. I have been playing drums for 30 years and there is no way I could have achieved the skill level and general enthusiasm if I had taught my son myself. He can't wait to go back and play each week. If you're thinking of putting your child in music lessons, you should consider Los Rios the one place they can get real world lessons and experience vs the boring typical lessons that teach stuff they'll never be able to use. Tyler is an amazing teacher! My daughter loved taking guitar lessons at his school. His love of music and energy is infectious. The concert that his students put on blew me away.
