Visiting Los Tapatios Taco Shop ended up being a great random pit stop one day. While driving down Pat Booker, hunger struck and I told my husband I was craving a taco. I pulled up my trusty Yelp app and we decided to swing in and give this place a try. Our first impression was positive--the restaurant was clean, and while the menu is fairly small, it includes all the classic items you'd expect from a taco shop. We ordered a variety of tacos and didn't have to wait long at all, maybe around 10 minutes. The tacos were so good. I honestly don't think there was a single one we didn't enjoy. My husband and I both agreed everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors were spot on. This is definitely one of those places we'll be coming back to. There are quite a few taco spots in the area, but I highly recommend giving Los Tapatios a try if you're looking for authentic, freshly made food. read more

2nd time here and the food is still great, we went with the monster birria, and the 4 queso birria. The food does not take long maybe about 10 minutes. The birria tacos themselves are great, the rice I got as a side wasn't my favorite. It seemed too grainy and mushy. I really hope to return to try the birria ramen. I have high hopes for the ramen. If the sides were better I would give a full 5 stars, still a great spot for a quick lunch. read more

First time visiting today for lunch! It was nice, quiet place. You order at the counter on the iPad, grab a number, and they bring it all out to you. Super easy, and the lady was very sweet. I got the monster quesadilla with Birria, my boyfriend got the mini tacos with pastor. We both got rice & beans, and I had an horchata to drink. The food was good, not like mind blowing good but, good. We also had chips & salsa to start. The salsa for the chips was sooo good lol. Best of the whole meal. The rice & beans were.. meh. The rice seemed to be over cooked and the beans lacked flavor. Save your money & skip the sides. Also - maybe I would try the Birria tacos next time instead of the quesadilla, the tortilla was really soggy. I get it, it's Birria, but it made it hard to pick up, but was still delicious. AMAZING tamales! Chicken tamales are usually hard to get right and often turn out dry, but these were incredibly moist and full of flavor. We tried both the pork and chicken tamales for a family holiday, and I was proud to bring them to our gathering--everyone loved them. 10/10! I'll definitely be back to try more of their food. Went here for the first time last night and it was good. We got there about 4pm and were the only ones in the restaurant. The clerk was very nice and took the time to explain all the items on the menu(I asked her too). She told us it was a family run business and they made all the items in house. We got the Monster Quesadilla(chicken) and the 5 street tacos(asada). I ordered a Mexican coke but it was not what I expected. It was from Mexico but was made with regular sugar instead of the cane sugar I expected. The quesadilla came on a lightly fried flour tortilla. It was loaded with chicken and cheese; it was a little greasy but that helped make it to taste very good. I ate it all and was filled up. The street tacos were double wrapped corn with a good amount of chopped steak with chopped white onions and cilantro available. There was not any sauce or cheese on them but there was a bottle of mild and of hot salsa available. I joined their loyalty program and got enough points for a free side; I will build them up until I get a free entree. The restaurant was clean and had Latino music playing on speakers. I love when people take a traditional item and make it their own. The Monster Quesabirria is made with a 12" flour tortilla! The only thing better than a birria taco? A Monster Quesabirria!! I also tried the birria taco with corn tortillas. The meat is lean and there is no added oil to the consume, preserving all the flavors.
