Ok so first I have driven past this place for longer than I care to admit. The food and flavor of the tacos and salsa are great. The salsa is a little spicy but not much so be mindful of you like your tacos without spicy salsa. I prefer green or avocado salad but that's personal preference. I got two bean and cheese add bacon because obviously, and two asada no onions or cilantro. I didn't dine In so I can't say on the ambience yet, but will be returning. As far as service quick and friendly. All this for 14 bucks and some change isn't too shabby. Already have family and friends who go here or know the place, will be going back. One of the BEST Mexican Restaurants in Northeast San Antonio Area! Honestly, I've been coming to this restaurant for the past two years and haven't taken the time to boast about how great it is! Stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon for a quick lunch. This hole in the wall looks like a house and has a very small parking lot that was full when I got here. When I walked in, I noticed how the place was packed and busy with patrons grabbing lunch. There was only one server working outside the kitchen so service was a little slow. They have a huge menu with very affordable prices (I come from the West coast where the prices are over double what I'd pay here in Texas). I settled on a large menudo and a chicken puffy taco. San Antonio is known for puffy tacos and this one did not disappoint. The texture was surprisingly soft as I thought it would be a crunchy taco but I was very satisfied. For $3, this taco is also big enough that a few will get you full. As for the menudo, it came with two flour tortillas. The soup came in a big bowl and had a lot of tripe. The tripe was soft and chewy (in a good way) and the soup was flavorful and packed with spices. If you're looking for delicious Mexican food, this is a great small business option with good portions and prices. Perfect for a quick meal in an informal setting. read more

Ok food, staff is friendly. Old man that is a "regular" was talking to his wife about my 1 year old being loud. When the waitress asked if he needed anything else he said "to shut the kid up". So we took our food to go, for the sake of not going off on him. Another customer talked to my husband outside, I guess he's there every other day complaining about everything and anything. Should really consider talking to him, he makes it a very hostile environment and can lose business this way. Now to the food.. I ordered cheese chilaquiles, they were ok really plain. No flavor. Husband, the chicken taco and enchilada said it lacked flavor. Kids, pancakes and eggs. Pancakes were burnt. Drink Horchata, it was ok. Salsa was good. read more

Small mom and pop shop. It's a small hut, you might miss it when you are driving by it. Food is good. As soon as I walked in, I felt I was back home in my moms kitchen. The food is not served fancy or what not. It's what you get at your mothers kitchen. Just good old, Hispanic comfort food. Prices are cheap too. So you can get a lot of food and not spend much. Staff is super friendly and caring towards there customers. Definitely a place to come check out. They also sell pupusas which is incredible haha. read more

Came for breakfast tacos. We had chorizo and potato , bacon and egg, and potato and egg. Everything tasted great, especially with their green salsa. Homemade tortillas. There's a nice little deck to sit and watch the cars go by. We'll be coming back. I can't believe we've lived here so long and never picked up their tacos. read more

We have been wanting to stop here for hire some time, this morning we decided to stop in for breakfast. AMAZING! Just not sure why we haven't stopped sooner. Extremely friendly staff! Unfortunately, the two times I've been there, I have not liked the food. I ordered a beef fajita taco, and the meat didn't seem cooked enough. The second time decided to order their tortilla soup. It was not your traditional,light broth. It was thick, greasy, very thick tomato based broth with a ton of salt. The Importance of Taco's A few years ago, I took my whole family to Florida to visit Disney World. (Don't EVER do this! - I almost killed my brother and nearly got divorced over a "mother-in-law" incident...) anyway - the morning after we arrived, I let everyone know at about 6:30am that I was going out to grab some breakfast tacos, and that I would return soon with some fresh, hot tacos. I have had 2 breakfast tacos in some form almost everyday of my life. Mickey Mouse wasn't going to change that. (Or was he?) 2 hours later, and half a trip around Orlando, I dejectedly returned with some of those incredibly tough, despicable, tasteless breakfast things called "Egg McMuffins". "I would give $100 for an El Patio taco right now!", I told my wife. She looked at me sympathetically but then smiled and said, "You'll be okay for a day or two, dear. So, where would you like to go first this morning?", referring to the park, I'm sure. With dead seriousness, I looked her straight in the eye and said, "Texas." I did an order to go and the lady was nice service was fast. On my way home the bag ripped from all the juices from my tacos and went down my leg and also all over my seat good thing for leather seats. When i got home i thought my order was wrong when i ordered a picadillo taco that's meat (ground beef) and potatoes taco mine had all meat and one tiny potatoe only one. I moved to Converse about 6 months ago, and pick up breakfast tacos about twice a week here at El Patio. I never really payed to much attention to the menu prices, but when I did, I noticed I was always being charged $1.69 for a small cup of coffee. The menu board showed it to be .99. Food does have a good flavor, but have noticed that the past several weeks, a good size taco became mostly tortilla with about a ring finger of chorizo and egg, or bacon and egg. Sad situation. Guessing customers don't really matter here. If your not after the 3 taco special, you might want to try the restaurant Sabrosito across the street. Food and customer service is better there. read more
