Recently stopped by this location. The service was great and the wait wasn't long at all. We have a pretty large party and ordered a lot of tacos. Some were decent but particularly the chorizo and potatoes lacked the chorizo. We mentioned it to the server and stated that is the standard for their tacos. I understand there is a serving size but there was no chorizo in 6 of our tacos. Please be more fair. The location is cute at least so you can give it a try for better luck. read more

Came here for the first time around lunch and I'm glad I did. I pass by this place all the time and figured I'd give it a try. I was craving a good bean and cheese taco, Bennys SLAPS!! So good! The tortilla is so delicious, bang for your buck. I also got the cheese enchiladas with two tamales. So much food for under $11?!? My fiancé got the burrito and he devoured all of it. Wish I had the option to give no stars because that's what I would do . I ordered 2 bean & cheese tacos & a container of Pico de Gallo (50 cents ). The young girl handed me my food after I paid at the drive thru window & she closed the window & walked away . I didn't get my Pico de Gallo so when she came back to the window I asked for it & she said she put it into the bag which she had not . This young girl accused me of hiding the container of Pico De Gallo & trying to get a free one . This pissed me off to no end . Who doesn't have 50 cents for a container of Pico De Gallo ??? I told her to come search my car . She kept insisting it was in the bag !!! She went & got the manager Denise . They're 99 cents all day!!!Their beans are great and gotta love the tortillas! I love getting them hot with melted cheese, though sometimes when I get them, the cheese is shredded and kinda cold. I recommend popping them the microwave to get some of that ooey-gooey cheese! I've gotten their carne asada mini tacos and they were pretty good. Personally I love their food especially the breakfast tacos, but my problem is with their drive through person (the same girl that always gives me problems) To reiterate I always ask for extra red salsa but the same girl at the window never puts it in there or she'd only give me green, one time she even told me they ran out and I went inside the restaurant and they told me that they did have salsa. I finally spoke to the manager about this issue and she said she'd talk to her . I think the girl at the window knew it was me because I go there all the time asking for the same thing . But the issue was fixed now she gives me my extra red salsa . But the last time I went she charged me for it? But then sometimes I go inside and eat my meal they give you a whole bottle of it and put it on your table with NO CHARGE. At this point it's just funny I don't mind getting charged a couple extra dollars but at this point the girl at the window is being petty . read more

Found a hair in my food when I was going to pick up my torta and not just a small hair, a huge one. Told the waitress and she was extremely rude, not one person apologized and instead of taking the entire thing off my bill she took off a percentage. The staff acted like it was my fault that the hair was on my plate. Side note: When arriving we weren't greeted at all. Recently opened. I've been driving by this little place since they opened. My husband I decided to stop by this morning. I ordered a fajita torta with fries and my husband ordered potato and egg taco. He love the freshness in the tortilla. He said you can smell the freshness in the tortilla when u open the taco foil. My torta was super huge. It was deish. Wish they put refried beans on the bottom bread to prevent the meat juices from making my bread soggy and fall apart. Other than that it was soooo good. I still ate the whole sandwich. This is a Mexican food with a 50s diner twist. Very homey inside. The music was typical of a 50s diner. Service was very good. The amount of time my food came was was just right. I would come back and try something else. My kids would love this place. Was craving a torta today, and I remembered passing this packed establishment with their 2/$1.50 tacos. It looked like a fast food place with their signage. I could not be farther from the truth. This is as authentic as Mexican can get. The staff was super friendly and professional, as opposed to what others have said. The language can somehow get crossed; just point at the pretty pictures on the menu lol. They have many daily specials for under $5.99, which includes traditional Mexican plates, Lenten fish specials, soups, and fajitas. I got an al pastor torta, which comes with complementary chips and salsa $4.99; fries can be added for only $1.29. The quality of the ingredients are above average. They give a generous 15% military discount. This is Lisa's number 2; the original one in Leon Valley. eats: -chips and salsa: the chips were thin and of the flour variety not corn. The salsa was outstanding, well pureed and orange made from I think Arbol peppers, the same peppers in Choulula hot sauce. - al pastor (spit fired pork: think shwarma) torta $4.99. The pork was marinated in pineapple and dry rubbed with that same powdered arbol peppers that was in the salsa. It wasn't spicy, just the perfect blend of flavor. The sandwich weighed about 3/4 of a pound and was delicious. You can add guacamole and bacon for 50 cents more. I will try one of their delicious soups next, where you can get small or large bowls. the caldo, menudos, and tortilla soups are made fresh daily. read more

5 Star - Amazing sweet tea and super cheap taco deal before 11am, definitely my new breakfast fav UPDATE (1 Star) - The lady had a horrible attitude. I honestly wouldn't put it past them to of spit in my food. I went through the drive-through and I explained to her that I could not hear her because of how staticky the microphone was, and instead of saying anything she just switched people talking. The order taker changed to a guy, and he was not so kind either, but I was able to place my order. When I got up to the window to pay, I handed the lady my card and at first my card got declined so she handed me my card back, said I did not have enough money, and then closed the window. She was very rude about it the entire time, and as soon as she closed the window, she turned around and started going off and I saw her roll her eyes too. All I ordered was two tacos, I really was not expecting it to be so complicated. Every experience I've ever had here was positive, but today I had a different cashier than usual. Maybe that is why I had such a bad experience, the cashier was absolutely terrible through the to go window. She was nothing but a walking attitude. PS - I asked her to re-slide my card because sometimes I had issues at their payment terminal and as soon as she redid it, it was approved. Of course, I was not able to ask her to redo until after she close the window on me, went off with her little attitude at her coworkers, and then opened the window back up when I was still sitting in the drivethru. When you are in search of delicious yet inexpensive tacos, Tia's taco hut is hard to beat. The secret to their spectacular tacos lies in their (flour) tortillas. They aren't doughy nor are they especially thick. Instead, they are thin and large, with just the right amount of resistance to the bite. Many taco places I've been to have tortillas that seem just a tad uncooked, chewy and flavorless, while others have too much flour, they resemble pita bread. Tia's taco hut's tortillas are simply superior and the best part is breakfast tacos are only a dollar! I ordered four tacos for breakfast and it cost me $4.30. That's practically cheaper than me making the food at home! The only problem I have with the taco hut is the atmosphere. It honestly makes me not want to eat there. The place lacks warmth and feels empty. The lights are stale and fluorescent, there rows on top of rows of booths, and tables so jammed packed in the place it's difficult to move around. Even the waitresses seem to struggle moving across the seas of empty tables. I've been there easily ten times and it never made sense to me, because most of their tables are empty. Is there a time when the place is packed? If so then, okay, you do you Tia. But if not then, please consider removing some tables/booths and allow some room for your customers to breath. It'll also make the place seem more popular. I'm often hesitant to recommend you to friends. I mean, sure I love the tacos but... the place has so many empty spots. Are they hurting for business? Do other people know something I don't? Frankly, I'm embarrassed to recommend you even though the food is amazing.
