Great place, literally less than 50m from the dreadful Ramblas, somewhat hidden in a small alley. The food was excellent, especially considering the price. We ordered the tapas tasting menu of €23,50 each and added a couple extra tapas afterwards. With 4 people we paid ~€150 including non stop sangria next to it. We did find that the extras were even better than the tasting menu items. Especially the bloodsausage is AWESOME! And it's a pity the pimientes de padron are not already in the tasting menu since it's such a classic over here. Service was very friendly, sometimes a bit slow and clumsy but we will not complain.

Hmm..that galic oil prawns and green peppers.

    - Location: 4/5 on a street of old city of Barcelona. - Service: 5/5 Great! Friendly and very kind! - Taste: 4/5 Beers were great! Galic oil Prawns were so tasted and couldnt stop to dip the breads into it. - Price: 5/5 Very much worth and not too much for what you really enjoyed.

Got the Mixed Paella (chicken and seafood). It was amazing! Highly recommended. Staff was courteous and made our visit special. The atmosphere was cool with old pictures of Spanish matadors bullfighting. Definitely worth it

Excellent paella and more than enough!!!

I came here for paella and my wishes were beyond granted. My friend and I split the seafood, vegetable and chicken paella and it was enough food for four people at least (we ended up taking home leftovers). It was so tasty and got better the more we ate it! Scallops, mussels and prawns with the heads still on made for an excellent (if slightly intimidating) seafood medley. The chicken was ok but not great, but the flavors of the paella itself, the seafood and the grilled peppers more than made up for the chicken. The bill was €12,50 a person, not bad at all!

Ordered the paella marisco on December 6, a pretty slow tourist season. The paella was great and much like the ones I've had in Andalusia. I really enjoyed the food and have no complaints. The atmosphere is nice. The server was also very nice. I am rating this based on value of food.

What a find! I was searching for authentic spanish paella and I found it! This portion was for 3 people although I could've eaten it all! Most delicious meal I had in Spain and would definitely go back!

We were in Barcelona for only one night, Sunday, and this was one of only a few of the best tapas restaurants open. (Most restaurants of note in Barcelona are closed on Sunday, and/or, Monday.) Didn't have to wait for a table, but, once we were seated, the service team took a while to get going. Once we had all our dishes ordered, cheap vino poured, and when the tapas arrived, all was well. Depending on seasonality/availability, I recommend ordering their excellent razor clams; stuffed peppers were also very good. This is one of those great everyday places, filled with a good mix of tourists and locals alike. Nice vibe.

Amazing food and excellent service!! It's hidden away in a small alley but worth going to find! Tani was our server and he was great! Funny, helpful and dedicated to making our experience great.

"This is the best thing we've eaten on this trip." I think my husband and I have said this to each other over just about every meal in Barcelona. Los Toreros is no exception to this statement. It was the first formal tapas restaurant we ate in, and it was one of the best. As others have mentioned, the plates are gigantic (it shouldn't be called tapas but gigantapas). We really over-ordered. Don't come here hungry or you will be sad that you can't fit everything you ordered into your stomach. The food is brought out quickly and each bite is heaven. Our favorites were the small fried fish, the tasty mussels, and the rich jamon. Service was attentive and friendly. And the ambience can't be beat. The restaurant is tucked away off a side street, past a little square, and is also referred to as a museum (by the owners) who tout its bullfighting memorabilia and history in the community. The bathrooms are very clean. There was enough space to handle small and large groups alike. And even though it's been around for awhile, they are hip to the times: the wifi password is printed on their placemats. What's not to love about this place?!

My Greek salad was very authentic and was as good as any salad I had while I lived in Greece. Very fresh vegetables, great Feta and seasoned to perfection. The shrimp scampi under the Tapas menu with garlic was equally good and oh so tasty. The smallish inside restaurant is best described as rustic and a tad warm. Instead I opted for the outside dining area, which has just a few tables but offered a very pleasant ambiance in the small side street this business is located on with low foot traffic and a very nice breeze on the warm day I dined here. The relaxed dining on the outside is definitely the way to go here especially during the summer months. From a negative standpoint, certain aspects of the service were too slow. I was seated pretty quickly upon arrival but I waited a tad bit too long to get my order in. Once ordered though, the food came pretty quickly on a positive note. However, for all intents and purposes the service stopped at that point where I had no follow up and literally had to walk inside the business to get my bill. Overall, the dining experience was still great for me slow service aside as the quality of the food and outdoor ambiance far outweighed the negatives. I would say if you are in a bit of there rush you may want to look elsewhere. However, if you are looking for a relaxing dining experience with great food than this business will be definitely fit the bill!

Ziryab seemed to fit the bill, so we made plans to stop here during our first night in the city. Ziryab is located close to the Gothic Quarter, on side street. It's kind of inconspicuous from the outside, but the interior gives way to a really welcoming space. The restaurant is separated into two main areas, with an earth-tone color scheme that has a rustic, almost cave-like aesthetic. The high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows keep the dining room open and spacious. The tapas menu had a good selection, and we decided on several items: pan con tomate, sweet potato rolls, chicken cannelloni, bacon-wrapped figs, croquettes, falafel, and a charcuterie board. All the tapas were great - my favorites were the chicken cannelloni, pan con tomate, and the charcuterie board. The cannelloni especially was a standout - definitely a unique dish, and the chicken was super flavorful. We opted for dessert, and got the feta whip cheesecake - this was great as well. The combination of tang and sweet was a good finisher to our meal. Service was great - everyone was friendly and our dishes were served at a good pace. Overall, I'm glad I tried out Ziryab - the tapas were delicious and atypical of ones you find elsewhere in Barcelona. I would have no qualms returning here for another meal.

I had no idea how huge and elegant the restaurant was until I went inside to use the bathroom before leaving. We were there just after 7 pm so it wasn't as busy as I imagine it will get later, because in Barcelona, people don't have dinner until 9 or 10 PM. We ordered fresh salmon with dill, coroquetas de jamón iberico, a cod fritter, and chicken cannelloni with foie gras and black truffle sauce. We also ordered the pan with tomate, of course to soak up the truffle sauce. The cannelloni was amazing! I mean it melted in your mouth amazing!! After our snacks... We ordered dessert. It's done so right, juicy tangy, bursting with flavors and the pita in the salad is made into a curly flower and gives a delicious crunch. We liked the dish of garbanzo and yogurt a bit less, as it was quite heavy and lacked flavor. My son was very pleased with shish tavouk with chicken, and I loved my halloumi dish.
