We were staying right next to Lonja de Tapas and had been wanting to try it for a bit and finally got the chance to give them a go. We hadn't had cava sangria so we tried it and it was pretty good. Essentially a sparkling white sangria with oranges, lemon, and apple slices. It was nice and refreshing and a great accoutrement to dinner. Their spinach and goat cheese croquettes were delicious. Light, crispy panko breading and a hot, cheesy, spinachy interior. Their patatas bravas were different from most of the ones we've had as they had more of a kick to them than usual and a garlicky aioli-a welcome surprise IMO. One of the chicken fingers seemed undercooked but overall they were crisp, hot and served with a yummy curry aioli. The grilled vegetables were your standard aubergine (eggplant), tomato, asparagus, onion, carrots and romesco sauce, but certainly grilled to perfection. All in all a nice experience with good tapas. Lots of space to dine and is actually a lot bigger inside then you'd expect. I'd come back again. read more

Intensely satisfying meal. Their croquettes were absolutely delicious. The potatoes were piping hot and crispy (I added tabasco sauce, which made them incredible); they actually tasted more fresh than other potato dishes we'd had before. The baby calamari wasn't too fried, so you could actually taste the squid itself. The paella was out of this world, too. I also never knew how much I loved cold soup until I had their gazpacho. Everything was impressive, for such a central area, and things came out so quickly too, so after walking a ton all day, this is quite appreciated. After a bike tour of Barcelona at night we checked Yelp and found this restaurant. It was fairly late, after Ten PM, so we were able to be seated quickly. This food was terrible. The gazpacho was not edible and the sangria was clearly from a mix. The food came out immediately which is not a good sign. I had like 2 spoon fulls of my soup. Great spot off the beaten path but definitely worth it. If you just want to drink you are limited to the sears closest to the door. If you want to eat (which I highly recommend) you need sit further in. We ordered some tapas for appetizers In Catalan: -coca de pa amb tomàquet i oil d'oliva verge (slightly toasted bread with tomato spread) -granelada de verdure a la planxa amb salas romesco (grilled vegetables with a romesco sauce) -pebrots de Padoró fregits amb sal maldon (the equivalent of Soshito Peppers) It was perfect because the main reason we came was for Paella. It was amazing. We ordered two to split between four people. With tapas and one paella would have been sufficient... the paella is relatively large. We ordered the Paella Marinera 'tot pelat'(seafood: squid, prawns, and octopus) and the Arròs amb plollastre i verdures (chicken, snap peas, asparagus). Although I am not a big fan of seafood they we both amazing. Make sure you squeeze some lemon on your paella to enhance the flavor. The service was great our Marc was awesome. They have menu's (carta's) in Castellano (spanish) and Catalan and French and English. Although it's a 7-10 min walk from Las Ramblas it's worth it!! We were lucky. Close to getting very hangry with many places closed on Sunday we stumbled across lonja des tapas. Don't let the review score fool you. This place is excellent. To start we had bread and Gallacian octopus. Bread you say? Why mention it. The bread was like having a delicate thin pizza drizzled in an arrabiata sauce. The octopus was like we were transported an 8 hour drive away to Santiago de Compostella. Fantastic. We enjoyed a litre of sangria. Nicely mixed and light to accompany our seafood paella. On our second day - we stumbled across this place. It is right beside the Picasso Museum. We had the chicken paella , Catalan creme brulee and wine. I really loved the flavours of the chicken paella - it was probably the best paella I have had in all of Spain ! The Catalan crème brulee was not sweet enough for my taste - however it was still decent ! Would definitely go back for paella dishes ! The crispy Catalan flatbread with tomato is the best bread I've ever eaten. Make sure to specify how many you want. We came here for an early evening meal mid week, it was fairly empty... when we arrived there were two other people in, but when we left there was also a table of about 14. Drinks were nice and cheap and cocktails were good as far as spain goes. Service was good and everyone was really friendly. We stopped by for tapas about 7:30pm on a Monday night which is early for an evening meal in Spain! We were the only people in the restaurant so service was quick. Had 4 tapas dishes, 2 glasses of cava & a cocktail for under €40. 3 of us came for dinner on a Tuesday night at 7:30 pm. Obviously we were early to Barcelona dinner standards. We were the only ones in the restaurant but our daughter didn't want tapas she wanted grilled chicken. Lonja Tapas has grilled chicken so it was a perfect fit for us. We ordered: Cava- it was okay Spanish Omelet- also okay. A bit bland Grilled Chicken- (didn't see it on the menu but our daughter ordered it anyway. She loved it) AND THE WINNING DISH WAS.... the Fried egg with potatoes and sausage. Seriously. Order THIS!!!! When we got their the waitress was attentive. Then the crowds of people came in and after we finished eating we probably waited 20 minutes hoping to get the check. My husband finally had to find someone who could bring us a check then we still had to wait probably 10 minutes. The wait for the check when we were ready to leave all but ruined the meal. Stopped by midday after seeing the daily specials or "menu del dia". They change their specials every two weeks, When I visited, I got a full three course meal including a drink for €10,95. On the day I went, I received king prawns as an appetizer, rabbit as a main, and a creme brulee for dessert. For this price I would highly recommend this restaurant. I have not dined at this restaurant for any food other than the menu del dia. If you go at any other time, the price point may not reflect what I have indicated. However, the food was very good and the meal I had was easily worth much more than I paid. read more

Had the gazpacho. It was ok. Also had a dish that had potato wedges, slices of pork, very over light eggs and some pepper. I was not a fan of this. Overall, didn't have much flavor as a a dish. The pork was mostly fat (1.5" wide, with about 1/4" meat) and the eggs were the most over light eggs I've eaten. They were as if they were in a pan long enough to sear the bottom and everything else was like it came straight out of the shell. Establishment and environment was nice. Clean and comfortable. The waitress was nice and very patient with my attempt at speaking Spanish. Also for those visiting Barcelona, this restaurant is part of a family of restaurants, each with a different name but very similar menus. read more

Located right next door to our hotel this place was convenient for our first meal in Barcelona. Service was friendly and attentive. We had planned to have a few plates of tapas but they had a three course seasonal meal with appetizer main course and dessert for 10€ and the menu options looked interesting. We started with a seven green salad with parmesan cheese walnuts and raisins in a vinaigrette and the mussells marinara. The mussells and salad were fresh and tasty. For the main course they offered six choices with three included in the 10€ price and three upgrading for 1€ to 3€. We selected the grilled chicken with asparagus and rigatoni with pesto and tomatoes. There were also several meat fish and seadfood options for the main course. The main courses were a bit of a disapointment. The chicken was a bit salty and the rigatoni came with a sauce that was more bland tomato than pesto. Dessert was crema catalana and truffles with creme. The desserts were acceptable. All in all not a bad meal with fine service, a pleasant clean atmosphere and acceptable quality food at a reasonable price point with many options. If we eat here again I would eat off the a la carte menu and not the "seasonal tourist menu" read more
