HIDDEN GEM ALERT!!! HIDDEN GEM ALERT!!! Just finished playing mini golf at Lost Duffer. And I was blown away by everything. Let's first talk cost. Adults play for ONLY $6. That's right. $6 for 18 holes. Next, let's talk about the holes. They were absolutely fantastic. Look, I like to be honest, so I'm not going to say the first 9 were super challenging because they weren't. Some holes were also a little shorter. But c'mon, for $6, this is a STEAL. And guys, the last 9 holes are SUPERB. They're, wait for it, all indoors and underground. I thought that was SO cool. Lastly, the people here are the absolute sweetest. Guys, from the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out, the people were smiley and kind and friendly. And you're not going to believe this, but they give the winner of your mini golf rounding a FREE FOUNTAIN DRINK OR FREE ICE CREAM. Just so cool. Just so awesome. I will be back. I love this place!!! Lost Duffer has easily become one of my favorite mini golf courses in the Charlotte area. My friends and I come here on a regular basis. After an extremely long day, me and my wife decided to end the day with a competitive game of mini golf. We were extremely excited, however once we arrived we were shocked to see that it was closed. The hours online and on the board outside clearly state that it closes at 8pm on Saturdays. I am extremely disappointed and confused as to why today of all days they decided to close early. read more

Such a cute fun activity! Butch the GM was the friendliest guy to me and my boyfriend we essentially had the whole mini golf to ourselves. It was only $6 for 18 holes of mini golf which is such a steal the winner even gets a free fountain drink or ice cream which is the nicest touch. Kinda cheesey but not entirely horrible mini-golf experience. The score card relates the legend of a codger with little aptitude for golf or mining and the layout fits the narrative with 9 holes up and 9 holes down. The place needs a once over lightly and freshened up a little: Water wheel needs fixed, koi pond could be cleaned up, the gold mine is musty, and the groundskeeper needs to lose the gas power blower but whuchugunnado? This 18 hole course seems geared towards little people or others lacking fine motor control. No windmill, no clown, no loops or roundy-go-rounds, just elevation changes, slopes, and the infrequent bit of water. The topography pretty much negates regular golf skills and rewards middling awkward flailings so skip the plummet thing and just whack away - the less I aimed the better I did. Many of the holes are funnel-y and direct the ball towards the hole but it is still possible to take a six on most of them. When you finish your round you can go upstairs and spend some quality time in the arcade with PacMan® or relax on the covered porch. The snack bar is well stocked with adult and youth beverages and a variety of treats. read more

This is a great place for quick fun. The holes are well laid, interesting and the theme is consistent throughout the 18 holes. Beware the hole next to the fountain/waterfall though, hit the ball to hard and its going in. The last half of the course goes indoors, offering great relief from the heat in the summer. Every summer, I get obsessed with a particular activity (last summer, it was enamelworking). It's like the UV sinks into a specific section of my brain and fires up some neurons that don't stfu until November. Anyway! Putt-putt! What is up! Lost Duffer has some A+'s going for it. Underground Blacklight Golfing (10th hole on) - A+. 5 bucks for 18 holes - A+. Totally doable "win a free game" last hole - A+. Large arcade, well priced - A+. Beer! A+. In a weird almost-an-apartment-complex area, so it can be rough to find. Little dingy, especially the underground section. Lots of places to unintentionally chuck your ball into the great ball graveyard. Holes are tightly packed, so half the time you have to remind yourself (or the peeps ahead of ya) to step off the green, please. But pretty damn awesome. read more

This is just a swell mini golf course. The theme is gold mining, so you start off above ground, putting and admiring the scenery, then you descend into the depths of the mine shaft where black lights and glowing electric tape await you. Above ground its already pretty challenging, so definitely give your eyes a minute to adjust when you get into the mine shaft or you'll end up putting into oblivion. After you've gone a round or two, yes, there is a rather impressive throwback arcade that you could drop a few bucks at - they got the pac-man, the frogger, I didn't see if they had the space invaders but they may have. And their hours are kind and allow for diverse levels of enjoyment- come in the morning/afternoon with the kids, come after dinner till 10 PM and enjoy a few brews. read more

Best. Date. Ever. Such a fun date night!! People, trust me, if she's fun and likes a good laugh and is maybe a little competitive and the weather is beautiful, you can't go wrong. There is nothing better than laughter over a terrible putt (or that little tiny warm feeling when you're kicking your significant other's butt- NOT THAT WE'RE NOT PLAYING FOR ANYTHING MORE THAN FUN). Pretty cool mini-golf course, just north-east of uptown Charlotte. Your Lost Duffer experience starts at the pro shop for the Paradise Valley par-3 golf course. Inside, you'll find an arcade, a food counter, and the cashier. Decor-wise, it actually looks like it could be the activity center at a retirement home. The arcade games were all off on my visit (not sure why...), but I did get to grab a beer at the counter and experience the mini golf. There are 18 holes, most of which are designed to be par 2's, and there are quite a few hole-in-one possibilities - half of the holes at least. It seems like a popular course with regulars likely being high school kids or UNC Charlotte students. The first nine holes are outside, and they do tend to run together. A couple times, it looked like they had planned a larger hole but cut it into two smaller ones. Once you're done outside, you open a door to the mine shaft, which is really just a themed, blacklight-filled, damp basement. It's cool though, and worth experiencing. There aren't really any special holes, but I did like the 18th hole and its free game opportunity. Definitely worth a stop. I think they could do a bit more to make this a destination mini golf course (if that kind of thing exists). read more

This place is lots of fun especially with kids. It has a par three golf course as well as a put put course. Half of the putt putt course is above ground and half of it is below ground. This is a great surprise for the kids, don't tell them before you have to go down to the "mine". They also serve food, beer, ice cream treats, and they have video games. The staff is super nice. A fairly fun mini golf-course, but the $5/person fee is a little steep considering that the course is pretty simple and straightforward. There aren't any windmills or clown's mouth-style holes which are often kind of the staple of the mini-golf world. Some holes were fairly challenging but it seemed that too many either sloped away from or towards the hole. As a result, it was either a cinch to get a hole-in-one or it was a pain to get it just right. I like a challenge, but I prefer some obstacle/timing/distance related challenges too. You can drink beers while playing. The $2+ price is reasonable but no steal. read more

Sucks that Charlotte only has one mini golf course, but this one is quite good. I have been a few times and have always had fun. It is fairly priced, contains some challenging holes and half of it is in a "mine" with black lights AWESOME. The only complaint I have is that a lot of the wholes seem to be in drains, which can make it easy for a hole in one. read more

I went here for my 6th grade Golf unit field it's a really nice place and again as one of the other reviewer said let your eyes adjust

My husband and I went this evening and it was not crowded at all. We had a great time, and were happy that some of the holes were indoors and some outdoors (hooray for the cool "mine" after playing in the 90 degrees!). The course is well maintained, although they can't help that a few have pine needles. We are in NC after all. The staff was super nice and helpful, and we will definitely be back! For only $5 per person, it's not only great fun, but a great value! read more

Well kept secret in University City. Took the kids for a day out. Very affordable prices. $5 for each game per person. 25 cents for the video games. Throwback video games (Pac-Man, Moon Patrol, Donkey Kong, Foosball, Air Hockey). 9 holes of the putt-putt are above ground, the back 9 are underground. The kids thought it was pretty cool. Great spot to get to if you want to get out with the kids or have a date night out with the missus. A+++++ Now that's what's up!!!! read more
