To update me when I called over and over and text earlier in the evening would have been nice. UPDATE: Owner reached out to me and discussed my concerns, apologized for confusion. Gave me partial refund to bring price down to what was expected. Good, honest owner working hard to make business a success. Highly recommend! ORIGINAL: Locked myself out of the house evening before July 4th. Was very thankful when the lady answering the phones for Lost Mountain Locksmith picked up and told me a technician was available! When I asked about the price after explaining the situation to her and giving her my information, she said there would be a $19 fee for the service call and that the job would range from $70 to $130 depending on either the type of lock that had to be worked on or depending on the amount of labor. Seemed reasonable enough. The technician arrived on time and was courteous. He gave me the invoice to sign before starting the job, though, and I saw that he was charging me the full $130 on top of the $19 service fee. I asked why I was being charged the highest rate when he was only doing a single door - the deadlock wasn't fastened, so he only had to pick the normal lock. He said that all house lockouts were $130. That is not at all the impression I'd gotten from the dispatcher I spoke to on the phone. I was expecting the total to be somewhere around $100, not $150. Overall, they still provided me with the service I asked for in a reasonable amount of time. I'm certainly willing to pay them for their service, I would have just appreciated a more straight-forward estimate. She knew I was locked out of my house - it's literally the first thing I said to her. If the policy is that all house lockouts are $130, I should have been told then. If that isn't the policy and house lockouts can vary in price, I feel like the technician definitely overcharged me for the 3 minutes it took him to pick one simple backdoor lock - remember, no deadbolt. He used a couple tiny hand tools and took 3 mins to do it. Most of his time here was spent running my card for payment. read more

Thank you, thank you, thank you! My lock jammed one morning and got stuck in the locked position. I was stuck outside while the person in my condo was stuck inside with no way to get out. I quickly searched for a locksmith and ran across Lost Mountain Locksmith. Paul answered the phone and said he would be able to make it out by 6pm. I re-stressed the fact that someone was locked inside the house without another way to leave and he quickly agreed to come immediately. I needed a new key fob for 2014 Acura MDX and after finding out the dealer wanted an exorbitant amount of money and knowing that programming new key fobs can be difficult I searched for a competent locksmith online. Worst ever, guy came out, didn't have everything he needed, said he had to order some blank keys and would come back in couple days,apparently this cost me 150.00 for an hour of his time, I called them repeatedly, three days later they came out again, they took one of my original locks switched it to another location on one of my trailer jockey box to another jockey box, made me 7 duplicates and charged me 450.00$. Owner said that's cost of professionalism, I told him he made one key, moved one lock, which I owned (it wasn't new) and made 7 duplicates 450.00$, Crazy crazy overcharge, I would have thought 250.00$ was high, since it wasn't my fault he didn't have everything on his first visit, he did give me a break taking hourly rate from 3 hours of time to 2.5 hours hahaha.
