We love Lost Mountain Nursery. They are very laid back but deliver when it comes to service, pricing and installation. Matt was our first contact. He recommended we talk to Cindy to help finalize our plant selections. We chose (1) type of shrub. Cindy suggested (2) other shrubs to complete our landscaping. Effie is a hard working installer. He worked alone and knocked out our job in approximately 4 hours. He dug up overgrown schrubs, installed the new scrubs, added mulch. He was very professional. I LOVE lost Mountain Nursery! I only wish that I had discovered them years ago! Their selection is amazing and EVERYTHING I have planted from here has thrived! I purchased a really large crepe Myrtle that bloomed magnificently its first season...and we planted it at the end of June! We also planted a gorgeous Japanese maple, hydrangeas, drift Roses, and some annuals. Everything has thrived! The annuals I purchased from Home Depot barely grew (I bought before I discovered Lost Mountain Nursery), but the ones I purchased here grew quickly and bloomed profusely! Love the unusual selections and the pricing is actually the same or lower than I find at HD, Lowes, etc. The plants are healthy, especially the geraniums- theirs bloom for me all summer without breaks. The owner and some of the staff have gone out of their way to help me on a couple occasions when I needed something special for a wedding and for a church play. Love, love, love this place! We go to this nursery once or twice a year because they have beautiful, healthy flowers. There are plants here that you can't find at other nurseries. Fortunately, I have steered clear of the older woman who others have encountered. When we have been to the nursery in the past, there was a nice lady who answered questions and helped us with our purchases. First time customer here. You pull into Lost Mountain Nursery and you just get this feeling that you've hit jackpot. It's hard to find a local nursery that does not try to charge you an arm and a leg for a plant! I'm not much of an outdoor plant kinda gal but I can tell you their selection for annuals and perennials is large! The houseplants are located in the left tent. Lots of beautiful plants. Every single time I go here the employees (and owner) are extremely RUDE. They are over priced, not helpful, and treat you like you're a burden. Don't go if they are closing in 30 minutes because they will be sure to tell you and even start closing the gates while you are collecting your purchases. Save yourself a trip, and DONT GO unless you want RUDE service or to be completely ignored and not greeted. read more

Take your business somewhere else...purchased $100 worth of hydrangeas and one died. Took a picture of the healthy ones and the one that died. Asked what could of gone wrong...just said there are a lot of different varieties of hydrangeas and I need my receipt. Told me she would only give my 50% off as long as it was within 60 days but needed the original receipt from her. Awful customer service. Will never go back. Take your money somewhere else. The box box stores are more helpful and a better return policy. read more

Very, very RUDE. The older lady who looked like she may have owned this nursery was incredibly mean to my mother who is in a wheel chair. She stared and watched my mother the entire time but never offered to help my mother in any type of way. She was trying to find bushes and items for our garden and this lady was no help. There was a young man and young lady that worked there that were incredibly helpful. BUT THEN this older lady came up to the young man who worked there IN FRONT OF MY MOM and asked him did you charge this and this and this??? Acting like my mom was just walking out with a bunch of product after she had just spent over $200 there. She finally came to apologize, but not to my mom in the wheelchair, to my sister...... My mom never ever asks for special treatment and she is very independent. But to have someone treat her with disrespect for no reason is unacceptable. We will never be back. I asked LMN to design and plant my front garden bed and I'm am so pleased with the new plantings. Teena really knew what would look best. The Nursery itself is charming and has a wide variety of interesting plants, shrubs, trees, and other garden items. Disturbingly unpleasant people run this ragtag Cobb County nursery. Expecting a mom and pop outfit to go the extra mile to impress customers and entice repeat business, I was mortified at how rough around the edges and largely underwhelming these people were. I was treated very dismissively by a haggard sales lady when I inquired about the availability of a common bush and was offered no further guidance before she turned her back to deal with another customer. Her response to me was a dull, "I have no idea!" As I stood waiting to see if someone else in the sales booth might assist me, I witnessed this same lady finish a phone call with a loud proclamation, "What don't you understand about the words I DON't KNOW!" Apparently this woman is plagued by a complete lack of knowledge. As I wandered the lot with zero assIstance, time got away from me and closing time ensued. I was curtly informed by the now infamous sales lady I could follow her to the register to make a purchase or leave. Having felt the sting of this person twice, I approached another lady I believed to be the owner to express how horrible my entire experience had been. Sadly, this woman just stared at me blankly and did not utter a solitary word. As I told both ladies on my way out following their catatonic reaction to my dissatisfaction, I will solely be using Pike Nurseries in the future. It is as though they don't want or need business. I've been shopping there for over 15 years; however, I overlook the rudeness of the part owner. I contribute that to her being unhappy...but don't understand how you can be unhappy at such a peaceful and beautiful place! I've read all the reviews on this nursery and am posting this review in an attempt to give some balance to the wide disparity of opinions posted. By way of introduction (as opposed to 'tooting our own horn'): My husband and I are avid gardeners. I started the Bartow County Pond Tour and our garden has been featured several times. We read a lot, visit botanical gardens, attend pond and garden tours and are members of The Atlanta Botanical Gardens and the Atlanta Koi Club (on social media only currently) and past members of The Hosta Society and the Magnolia Garden Club. We seek out privately-owned specialty nurseries. Lost Mountain Nursery is, hands down, our absolute favorite. If you go in here expecting ANY hand-holding, you'll hate it. This is a private nursery run by a very few, highly knowledgeable, local gardeners. I can't begin to imagine the amount of work that is required to keep this place going. The sales ladies are, to put it delicately, not young women. They do everything....order and keep up with the inventory, water the plants, make the exquisite planters and arrangements, wait on customers, load vehicles, etc. If you want to enjoy and appreciate this place for the jewel it is, do your homework before you come. Go to the big box stores first if you want general information. Go online. Read magazines and/or gardening books specific to the south. Then, when you're ready to buy and want to make sure you purchase varieties that will have the best chance of thriving in your garden....then go to Lost Mountain. Tell the sales associate what you're looking for, that you are there to make a purchase. Be realistic about what your project will cost. Fine gardening is expensive. Tell her what you think you want: ie, " I would like three different plants that will do well in two 3' x 18" window boxes on the north side of my house." Specify whether or not you want perennials or annuals, blooming or not, specific color requests,etc. It's wonderful and fun to go here to look and to get ideas but know what you want before you approach a sales associate. They do sometimes seem dismissive and sometimes even rude but it's like when you look for a surgeon: it's nice if they have good people skills but wouldn't you rather know that they are the best in their field? Their education was not focused on giving the best customer service, it was about knowing their stuff.....and these ladies do! read more

The plant and tree selection is fine, but this place is the absolute WORST for customer service. I purchased about $500 worth of trees and shrubs from them and about 4 months later, I wanted to exchange one of the tree's because I decided on something different. The owner said their return policy was 3 months (vs 12 months or lifetime from most other places). She refused to help me in any capacity. How short sited can someone be. I am a house contractor and am happy to take my business somewhere else. I strongly recommend shopping somewhere else due to the terrible customer service! read more

I did not have the same customer experience as some of the other visitors. I found the service to be exceptional, as was the inventory. The saleswoman (owner?) took the time to explain the options that would work for me based on what I was looking for, told me the care that would be required, and even walked me over to the sections where I would find the items. I purchased one tree and asked them to hold it until I could come back later that day with a truck. When I got back, I was still so impressed with the inventory that I took another look and ended up buying two more trees. When I loaded up my order, the saleswoman reminded me again how to take care of my new purchase. I saw some complaints here about the return policy, but I've never known any small business to have return policies as liberal as big box stores. I love the place and I plan on having them help me create the back yard of my dreams! read more

Went there recently with sole intent on buying quite a few larger azaleas. Approached the older lady there, who I found to be absolutely one of the rudest people I have ever dealt with. I do find their inventory to be quite good, but I will not ever go back to that place again. I also left with the feeling that they did not need my business, nor anyone else's for that matter, since there was no one else there when I arrived, and nobody came in while I was there, and still, not even when I left after looking around without buying anything. I won't go back since I'm simply not accustomed to being treated like that hussy treated me. Hope she is not the nursery owner. I also hope she gets replaced soon. Don't want anyone else treated so badly. Please nursery owners, do something about this horrible person. read more

NO warranty on their plants or trees unless they plant them, which cost extra. Be careful when purchasing. They were only going to give me half store credit if I brought them back with my receipt. Home Depot and Lowe's replaces plants and trees with no questions asked. Keep that in consideration when looking. read more
