This is my hometown HD and I have been shopping here since the first week 20+ years ago. I am a SPM for a large electrical contractor. In that role, I shop at HDs and Lowe's all over the southeastern US. Previous trip (one before this) to Hiram HD - I could NOT find anyone to help me. After @ 3-5 minutes of searching, I finally find a young man, I asked him for help. He should have just said no and walked away. He was a complete punk smarta$$, that had zero knowledge of any items in the store. I am a 32 year Electrician. I know basic construction with a little advanced testing in some areas other than electrical. With my frustration, I started to walk away and I said outloud," This would make a great F'ing place for a hardware store. The HD kid says, "you're the worst". I turned around and blasted this kid verbally for the talk back, then asked for his manager. He could not reach either manager on the phone. He proceeds to walk me all the way to the back of the store, where the 2 managers are sitting in a large room of tables, talking. The door was open and did not seem to be a work related conversation, as other associates were coming and going beside them. The male manager comes out and immediately is taking up for the kid. When I try to explain to him what I am there to buy, another manager walks out, and "she or he?" has an "even better" attitude. She proceeds to tell me that I am not allowed to cuss (damn and hell). BTW - Manager "IT" had to put her "Alphabet People" flag down to lecture me about my use of my FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS. I then told her that she and her "people" have been in our school system, molesting the minds of our children for a few years now and I would not be lectured to about my choice of words. POUND SAND, LEZ!! The first manager tells me I have to leave and proceeds to walk me out. Continuing to scold me the entire walk. ****They let $5000 walk out the door. Lowe's got it instead.**** Fast forward to today 2/2/2024 I went in today, as this store is the closest one to my residence. I was apprehensive about going to the Hiram HD, as this particular store stresses me out EVERY SINGLE TIME. I am in the middle of a laundry room remodel and needed some trim, caulk, and rollers. I also broke my jig saw and needed a new one, as well as, a new miter saw. I am willing to spend the money for the better tools. As usual, I could not find any to help me. I walked around, toward the check out, and I notice a group of 4 female cashiers standing in a social circle, oblivious to anything around them. I walked back the way I came to the back of the isle. When I turn the corner there, I see a group of what looks to be 3-4 managerial dressed men. Again, same situation. They were in a social circle and oblivious to anyone around them. I watched an older lady, facing me from the other side of them, tried to ask a question, but she could not get their attention. It almost appeared to be on purpose, the way they ignored her. Pissed me off! I am done at this point. If I didn't have a few items that my wife had asked for, I would have just left. Upon getting to the cashier, there are 2 open side by side. One has a cashier and 1 is open but not occupied. The cashier engaged me, with the typical, "do you want to open a HD credit card today?". I said, "Lady, I have been in this store for 1hr and 45 min. I needed about $700 of items, but no one to help, answer questions about saws, or unlock the tool shelf. No, I don't want a cc". She then says to be, "you didn't take a picture of the tag and .....". I stopped her and explained how the old fashioned way of doing business did not involve me using my phone to open a lock!!!!!! I was in the store for over an hour and a half and spent $43. I will be going tonight and buying the tools I need from Lowe's. I am FINISHED with this Home Depot. I will drive to Douglasville or Marietta to Lowe's before going back to this store. This store seems to have become the "manager training store" because their management staff is overwhelmed and the store shows it. I remember when the associates were friendly and cared about the customer experience. This store has more inventory in the middle of isles than need be. It's hard to maneuver a large cart around these items. If I am already in the store, I should not have to walk all the way back to the parking lot to get a large cart (not a shopping cart). The attitude of these people has become lacking motivation, not to mention the entitlement attitude of some of the front end customer service ladies. I don't care about your political views!! I bought a washing machine at Home Depot and due to some discrepancies I called in and asked for a manager. I then talked to Terrance/Terrace. This guy took my concerns so seriously that he helped me and explained things in a way I could understand. The problem required two phone calls, three days apart and he was right there, again, to help. He is a professional and very knowledgeable and I feel grateful to have found him. DO NOT PLACE DELIVERY ORDER ( or any order with this Home Depot store at PRO-Desk. 6/3/24 Placed order in person with employee at Pro-Desk . Very friendly, however she decided to set me up on a different account (other than my own), she explained I could get a larger discount under one of her contractors name. Even though, I stated that probably would cause confusion. 6/12/24 - Employee called me to tell me my order had arrived at store, but they were was some confusion on whose order it was, so it was sent back. I showed up in store in Person and spoke to a different employee, who said that my order was placed incorrectly, and they will have to place new order for me-under my name. Employee stated that my order would arrive on 6//17 to the store. 6/17/24- Employee called to tell me that the order would not be there, and that it will be in store the next day, 6/18- I called store to check on status, the employee told me she would reach out to drivers, and call me back, She returned my call and said that the drivers didn't have the right size truck for it to be delivered, but stated it would be for sure delivered next morning- and Mentioned she will make sure I would be first delivery in am. 6/19- No delivery. I called store, and employee said she will check on order and call me back. Again, she told me it will be delivered thing in the morning. 6/20- 11:07 am STILL NO DELI ERY. I came to this Homie D for work and needed few nuts and bolts for a project. The store itself is located on 278 and hwy 92 near a bunch of other shopping places. Nearby eating places includes Texas Road House, Buffalo Wild Wings and O'Charley's. When I pulled up to the place what I thought was interesting was all these different sizes and models of sheds that HD sold. Honestly I had no idea that HD sold such things. The one that I looked at which was about $15,000 and I believe was larger than my first apartment! Maybe I should of looked at a shed instead of a broom closet..... I knew what I was getting so I didn't need any help but nevertheless I was approached by a nice woman who actually was looking for people to do a survey. It looked like she worked for HD because of the apron and name tag. We had a nice pleasant chat. I was able to find the items that I needed without any problems. In my visits so far, it's been a standard Home Depot. It's behind a row of other stores, and it's almost always quite busy. Mild difficulty getting in and out with all the traffic is the only reason I don't give it four stars. I've used the Garden Center and found it well-stocked, and I've enjoyed my plants. Update: the workers at this Home Depot are very helpful. As soon I walked in, I had three different workers ask me if they could help me find something. Mind you, this was at 11:00 AM on a Tuesday; not sure what it would be like at a peak time. I did have to wait a bit at the online order pickup place, but once they saw they me, they treated me very courteously. Good store with good employees and good selection. read more

I don't think I've ever been hear once where the staff wasn't friendly. They don't knock down the door to help you though... in fact I can hardly find a orange apron. Today I bought paint for my dining room. I'm so excited about painting. The young guy helped me concerned me a bit. He was nice, but young people have to really work on their customer service skills. UPDATE: I HAD given them a 5 star but I've come back to drop it down to a 2. I had a return without a receipt. They refused it. It was "declined by a 3rs party". If they give you a store credit, it has to be in your name. Ie. I had a store credit on a card, gave it to my dad and they wouldn't let him use it. They've started using a 3rd party to approve or disapprove all their returns. Their own managers can't even help you anymore. They gave away their power to help! DUMB MOVE. The people there are still good but good ol Depot corporate in their infinite wisdom tied their hands. Not sure if Lowes is any better but I'll be giving them a shot. Sometimes its hard to find someone for help but I usually look it up on there website. Nothing spectacular about it. Please note if you are a veteran Home Depot no longer except Georgia drivers License that specifically state veteran anymore for the 10% discount. Spoke with the store manager and was very disappointed in the fact that he has the power to override that decision and told me no. If you shop as a veteran and looking for that 10% discount go to Lowe's. At Lowe's all you have to do is present your drivers Licence and fill out a small questionnaire you're put into the system and it automatically gives you the 10% every time without showing any other proof. Thank you Lowes for being veteran friendly. In the last three months my company has spent $28,000 at Home Depot but I will take my business now to LOWES. Home Depot you just lost a customer. Remember Georgia does not give you a veterans license unless you produce a DD 214 showing you're a veteran but apparently that's not good enough for you Home Depot. When visiting you can never find anyone to help, even after visiting the Info desk and requesting help. If you try calling, mo one ever answers the phone. I recently ordered $3000 worth of flooring. I called the store to the Prodesk ( spoke to Leiah) and she said that was up to the driver. I even answered the phone in the department and asked for help. Another 10 minutes, same result. Left the store and went to Lowes. In and out with their help in 5 minutes. The staff at the Hiram Home Depot are always nice & helpful. If they don't have what you're looking for & they can't order it quickly, 9 times out of 10, they'll point you in the right direction. Lucky to have this location as my home town store. Includes a tool rental center as well. read more

Let me start by saying it's a great location... but just recently I shopped looking for paint and as I'm standing looking and pulling colors for about 10 minutes a gentleman walks up approximately 2 minutes and was immediately greeted excitedly and asked can she help him he says what he's looking for and they walk away never spoke or said are you doing ok can I help you find anything....when I asked the name of the associate the other associate tried to lie and say Courtney but I just started working here so I'm not sure.... (but you were just talking to her) ...so this kind of leaves me feeling some kind of way.... associates need to be trained properly to greet all customers and treat them all fair... just speaking on the associate in the paint section not the store as a whole.... read more

We were at this store on 5/16/19 @ 10:50 AM. Jon at this store was amazing. He saw us wandering the isles in the section to purchase 2 x 4's and asked us if we needed help. He stayed with us for a hour and assisted my husband in loading up Picket fence posts (37), 2 x 4, 4 x 4, felt paper, screws, sack-krete, shingles and 4 x 8 paneling board. He assisted us in loading the trailer. He was courteous and never in a hurry. I stopped going to Home Depot a few years back, due to the fact we could never get any help. I am glad to see Home Depot has gone back to their roots of assisting customers. I will continue to shop at Home depot. Thank You Jon for all your help. read more

I ordered a microwave and a refrigerator from Home Depot and scheduled the delivery for a couple of weeks out. Evidently Home Depot uses a company called Spirit Delivery to actually deliver the appliances. When the delivery day came they delivered only the microwave, not the refrigerator. Somehow they managed to leave one of them off their truck and just delivered one of the two. The drivers and the person at the warehouse couldn't help me, so I had to call Home Depot. After 30 minutes, multiple times being put on hold, and me insisting it was Home Depot's problem, they finally arranged for a delivery to be rescheduled for 3 weeks out. Fast forward to two days before the scheduled delivery of the other item and I receive a voicemail from Spirit Delivery changing my delivery date from a Saturday to a Monday. I called them back and finally spoke with a person who said they couldn't help me. I offered to call Home Depot and the person told me that she would see what she could do and hung up. I have zero confidence that they will deliver the appliance when scheduled. I am sure I will need to spend some quality phone time with Home Depot to try to resolve. Maybe it would make more sense to just cancel the order from Home Depot and see if Lowe's or Best Buy can do better. They could hardly do worse. read more

i rented a hand truck on June 30th and paid the 24 hour rate and returned it within 4 1/2 hours. The young gentlemen asked if I wanted a receipt after I returned it. I told him "don't worry about it" since I was in a rush to turn in the U Haul truck. I get a call a few days later from U-Haul asking when I'm going to return the hand truck. I explained that it was returned and I'd call Home Depot to confirm. I contacted the tool department and was pretty much told that there was nothing they could do and suggested I talk to their ASM (store manager). I contacted him and asked if they could at least check the camera to see that I came in and returned the hand truck and left without it. He said that he would have to check with corporate and notify their loss prevention department since they don't have immediate access to their recordings. I was told to leave my customer ID number and phone number. It's 7/16/18 and still no call. But I do have a pending charge or $68 on my account. I understand that I should've taken the physical receipt, but I figured it would show on my statement. I had no idea that this would be taken as an opportunity BY STAFF to steal the equipment at the customers expense. LESSON LEARNED !! NEVER AGAIN!! read more

I had placed a special order for 2 different items. One item came in prior to the other but I did not want to make 2 trips. The 2nd item arrived about 2 days later. I received text and e-mail that they were ready for pickup. Upon arrival at the store they could only find one item. It took them over 40 minutes to find the 2nd item. The location is Hiram Ga is by far one of the worst stores in the company. They have a very poor staff of people and managers that don't care about customers or the products that they sell. You try calling to a certain department or talk to a manager and they never answer. Holly in special orders is rude and short with people. The worst customer service I've experienced at any Home Depot! I couldn't find what I needed at the Powder springs location (great customer service there!) so they told me to go to the Hiram location. First off no one is friendly there, then I asked 5 sales associates for help! A few paged for help in the department I needed then the other few literally just shrugged and walked away! I was asking nicely not rude at all. Finally I walked to the customer service department and told them what was going on. The lady paged for help... 10 mins later someone finally helped me, but was pretty rude :( in total I probably spent 30mins in the store just waiting to get assistance. Please don't go here! read more
