Shelly was my massage therapist and I had a 75 minute massage that ended with a foot scrub. Shelly was fabulous. She provided the perfect pressure and I left the spa so relaxed and happy. This tells me all I need to know about how they conduct business. I was told there was availability the next day at 4:30 or 4;45, I chose 4:45. The lady on the phone told me she scheduled me with Laura. However, on Groupon it says "any therapist other than Laura". I reiterated it was ga Groupon voucher, she then redeemed the code and that was that. I show up 4 mins late for my appt due to traffic. Laura was the one who "checked" me in. She mentioned Jason would be there soon, this confused me as I thought I had an appt with her. Come to find out she never put me on the books, then said my appt was with Jason, who confirmed I was not on his schedule, and she had already redeemed my Groupon code. Very frustrated with this whole experience. Update: Gave the owner a call after her response. To clarify I did "speak up" as I mentioned I had requested a female. She disregarded and stated "Jason is wonderful, he blew me away with his level of talent." I was willing to give this a chance, but what if I had trauma in my past and having a male therapist triggered this? You CANNOT disregard a request made because you don't know why the individual may be specifically making the request. She did NOT communicate the change prior to the appt. I do not appreciate defensive tactics because I posted a negative review. She stated she has to defend her business. I get that, but yikes. She offered me a rescheduled appt and free upgrade, but all the while trying to find a way to pin this as my fault as she pointed out the time verification text that I just realized I received when on the phone with her (when booking she did not say there would be confirmatory email or text) said am and not pm. Again, not MY fault. I appreciate the offer for free upgrade however, I am even more put off by the defensive, disrespectful behavior as I have never experienced it before by an owner of a company. She asked me to change my review and then informed me she would be following up with "facts". I will not change my review because I am absolutely offended by the way in which this was handled.
