I stop in here every time I travel through town. It not only has huge portions, but absolute amazing and flavorful food. I recommend getting the sesame chicken as it has the best sauce and comes with lunch the next day! And don't forget the amazingly cheap prices for the quality of food you are served. Crab Rangoon was great and wonton soup was wonderful but that was all. The orange peel beef was soggy and tasteless, I had asked for medium spice ( mild, med and hot were offered) no veggies at all in the dish only beef. Kung Pao chicken had no veggies and no peanuts in the dish. Again, the chicken was soggy and not spicy at all, it definitely had a flour or cornstarch like taste to the breading. We paid extra for fried rice and we should have just skipped it, it was just regular rice ( not jasmine or other Asian style) with soy sauce and a few, very few carrots mixed in. I've never had fried rice with no egg or onion in it. The rice was also very dried out. This was at dinner time and lunch dinning seems to be better quality. We won't be back, this food was below frozen TV dinner quality. read more

Lotus is my favorite restaurant to eat at when I visit Vinton! The owner is very nice, and the food comes out of the kitchen piping hot, very fresh & there's a lot of it (I'm talking about their lunch specials)! I really like their Kung Pao Chicken which has a generous heap of crunchy peanuts & just the right amount of kick to it. The Sweet & Sour Chicken is also very good with a delicious light, golden coating, and all white meat, and the Hot & Sour Soup is pretty yummy, too. This place is so good, that they get pretty busy. The owner rushes around really fast, taking orders, but takes the time to check on how you're doing. Good service. We will continue to come here whenever we're in town! read more

We were surprised to find a Chinese restaurant in a small town like Vinton. It was decently priced, clean and had plenty of seating. When we first sat down we really thought the lady was rude but it's it's just the way she is and how she the language barrier. The food was good it wasn't something that would keep me coming back. Ordered take out last night from the Lotus. We then drove 16 miles home to realize we were sold the wrong order. Waitress called us saying she sold us the wrong order and requested we bring the food back as the people who ordered it were waiting. Wait! What????? Perhaps this is not a good idea-health department would approve? Angry, we returned the food and got our order. Drove 30 miles extra cause they made a mistake. Waitress smirked. She did say sorry but obviously didn't care. No offer to make it up to us. Turns out the biggest mistake of the evening was the Peanut Chicken. I had to throw it out as the chicken was hard as a rock, covered in a gross breading and sticky, nasty sweet sweet sweet inedible sauce. I wonder what happened to the food as no one was waiting for it. Lotus, you have to do better than this! read more

Always great! Why travel to the big city when you have HIGH-QUALITY Chinese food right here in Vinton, at very reasonable prices? Their egg rolls are the thin, crispy "spring-roll" type, not the thick, greasy ones like some places have. Every dish I've ever had there has been wonderful. I personally found out about this restaurant from the national service program that I was in (AmeriCorps NCCC) and it did not steer me wrong. Everybody who I have talked to that has been to Lotus has nothing but good things to say about it. And for anybody that is looking at this review and is in NCCC, they love us!
