Best Chinese takeout in town! I've tried multiple things and they're all so good! Eat flavor and portion sizes. Only takeout (no dine in!) they also have steamed buns/baos for sale but I don't think you can order them online (only for call in)

This place is now my go to when I visit my parents. Everything they do, they do well. Take out is always nicely packaged, the portions are great, but the flavors top the bill! The staff in the front are always happy and friendly, and it seems they are busy no matter what time you go in. This was both my daughters first time trying them and they loved it. We will probably order again before we fly home.

Spectacular NYC style Chinese take out food, right down to the mind-boggling affordable prices. This is the fare I grew up with in CT, and if we had one like them where we live out West, I would order from them every other day. Egg Fu Yong is the stuff of legend, with huge chunks of roast pork and vegs, and thankfully with the gravy on the side (I prefer potsticker sauce over it). Massive sausage filled wontons in the Wonton Soup, and fantastic hand made Fried Dumplings. They check every single box for Chinese food that I love. I hate you Iowa City...

    So nice of them!

I will absolutely drive the 30 minutes to get food from here in the future. If you are craving crazy good Chinese food while supporting a small business in your community then you have made the right choice!! My friends and I picked up several entrees, fried rice, lo mein, and crab rangoons for a little painting party that we did. And boy did this place deliver in deliciousness. They were so kind for throwing in scallion pancakes (not pictures) and fried donuts for free. But the most jaw dropping part of all, all of the food we got was under $100. How?!?! By serving up great tasting food at such an affordable price they sure got my attention and I know where I'll be going every time that Chinese food craving! I savored every bite and there was enough food for all of us to take home and get another meal (or two) out of the leftovers. They also so thoughtful for calling me to ask if I wanted chow mein or lo mein. Because the former would've just been vegetables and the latter actually had noodles. Most places would've just made the order as is but they went out of their way to verify. How incredibly considerate! Please, for the love of amazing Chinese food, do yourself a favor and order Chinese take out from Long Xing!

For Americanized fast Chinese food --- this place is it. Everything we have ordered from here is good -- with a few things being outstanding. With Covid, call ahead and place an order. When you go to pick up, they have one of the safest experiences around. A large plexiglass separates you and those working at the restaurant and you you can tell that they took the pandemic and customer/staff safety seriously. The beef chow mein is really delicious. The noodles are soft, the beef is juicy and the fried egg is delicious. Not too many vegetables which is just fine by me lol. The egg drop soup is a winner. I add some fresh ground pepper before digging in -- plenty of egg to soup ratio and the soup base is rich and satisfying. I could literally pour into a to-go mug and drink this everyday. The shrimp fried rice is also really good. Big juicy shrimp -- could've used some more fried egg though. You must get the crab Rangoon -- the filling is out of this world good. Creamy, crabby and umami in one bite. If you get the sweet and sour chicken, know that you'll have leftovers for days. They fill the container up and the quality of the chicken is really good -- although I like dark chicken (which is what I think they use). All In All This is the place to go when you crave American Chinese food. Fair prices, huge portions and super satisfying

The Kung pao chicken was very tough, unlike previous times we have ordered this. I had the impression the quality of the meat was lower.

When asked, "what's in this tofu dish?, he said, "tofu". My wife asked if it had vegetables and he said he didn't know and made some odd comment on how expensive tofu was as though that made a difference in the recipe. At one point he scoffed and said something like, "the picture shows...". We had so-so beef with scallions and ginger and the green beans. Both were just average. We ordered pot stickers before all the questions and they arrived in time for dessert. My wife also has a Diet Coke which the waiter never offered to refill.

They have the cool round tables that can fit up to 10 or more people for Chinese New Year which is awesome. You can absolutely come here for solid American Chinese classics (yes, the orange chicken is good!). But if you're ready to challenge your taste buds a little--or want to impress your Chinese foodie friend--here's what I recommend: 重庆辣子鸡 (Chongqing Spicy Crispy Chicken) Crispy, dry-fried chicken buried in a mountain of dried chilies. Numbing, salty, and packed with wok hei. A must if you're serious about spice. 四川烤鱼 (Whole Fish with Szechuan Sauce) Whole tilapia swimming in bold, peppery sauce. Flaky, flavorful, and unapologetically spicy. This one earns respect. 干煸包菜 (Stir-Fried Cabbage with Hot Pepper) Don't underestimate this dish--it's got deep wok flavor, a little heat, and balances out the heavier mains perfectly. 担担面 (Dan Dan Noodles) Nutty, garlicky, and just the right amount of heat. Toss them well and you'll see why they're a classic. Yes, it's a bit oily--that's part of the deal with traditional Szechuan. But the flavor payoff is so worth it. Portions are generous, and the spice is real (so come prepared). Pro tip: This is what my Chinese dad would order. And if you're ready to go beyond orange chicken, you just might find your new favorite here too.

I came across Best China that does in-house delivery. Perfect. Plus, I could order online. We ordered a plethora of appetizers. (The rangoons were a fam fav.) As well as the sweet and sour chicken. (Another hit, especially with the kiddos.) The only thing I will say that we would never order again would be the dumplings. You can order online, which I love. I did so and got to choose when I wanted it delivered. I entered my credit card information... but for whatever reason it didn't register that I wanted to pay that way and I ended up having to pay cash. (Don't get me wrong, I like that they have that option for people-- just wasn't expecting it at the time.) Overall, this is a solid spot on the East side of Iowa City. This spot has been serving up tasty dishes for over a decade now-- that has to count for something! If you want to try something new, Best China is a great option.

They're also sensitive to the working clientele, and had the food ready quickly (under 10 minutes ) with whole meal taking 25 minutes. I left feeling full, happy, and relaxed. I made it back to the office quickly and ready to have a good afternoon. If I didn't normally bring my lunch I would be here more often. Next time: the snap peas that came with my lunch were bursting with flavor. Should I return, I will definitely find a dish that highlights that ingredient or perhaps I will just ask for extra. I will be back again, hopefully sooner than later.
