I'm reluctant to write this review because honestly, I sort of want to keep this place and my specific hair goddess a secret. But I'm sharing this super powerful knowledge with everyone so they can have great hair too... I'm TERRIFIED of getting my hair done or getting any kind of cut. I actually had a lot of my hair burned off by a "professional" a handful of years ago. I looked like a cancer patient for years and years. Then I tried out a few places here in Oceanside and then on the east coast when we had moved, and I HATED my hair cut every. single. time. It was like no one could get it right and so I had to regrow it again and again, until I found someone I loved. Welp, I found that place and person. Chelsea is a freaking HAIR QUEEN. She listened to me to make sure she understood EXACTLY what I wanted, she asked a ton of questions to make sure, and then she did it. FLAWLESSLY. I've been going to her for over a year now and will NEVER go to anyone else. She a freaking queen. A hair genie. A goddess with scissors. She is out of this world fabulous at what she does. I'm insanely low maintenance when it comes to my hair, so I'm generally the type of client that stylists hate. I don't want to use product, I don't want to style it; I essentially need my hair to look exactly how I want it to look with minimal-to-no effort. I've been seeing Cami for my not-as-frequent-as-they-should-be haircuts since she started at Lotus Den. She's never running late and is extremely accommodating; something I've had trouble finding in a stylist in the past. She also always remembers my constant need for coffee, and even what flavors I prefer from their selection. This spring, I finally decided to liven it up with some color, and we decided to do ombre since I didn't want to have to come in any more often than I already do. The color looks amazing, and I literally can't go anywhere without getting compliments on it. Cami does amazing work, and she's always talking about new classes and techniques that she's been checking out--you can tell that she's really passionate about what she does. I had a wonderful experience at Lotus Den Hair Salon today with my stylist Olya. She did an amazing job -- gave me a beautiful haircut and the perfect bangs, and most importantly she was able to correct a previous haircut that I wasn't happy with. I hadn't seen a stylist in quite a while, so it was honestly a little difficult for me to trust someone new with my hair. But Olya immediately made me feel comfortable. She listened carefully, understood what I wanted, and delivered a fantastic result. She is very talented, attentive, and pleasant to talk to -- the whole appointment felt relaxed and easy. I'm genuinely impressed with her work and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a great stylist. Parking was also simple -- convenient street parking nearby, which made the visit even easier. Overall, a great experience. I had a wonderful experience at Lotus Den in Oceanside! My stylist was Emily M, and she was absolutely amazing -- super friendly, easy to talk to, and she did exactly what I asked for. My hair looked so fresh and healthy after my cut, and she worked quickly without ever making me feel rushed. The salon itself is super cute and welcoming. I loved that they have dogs hanging out in the salon -- it made the vibe so fun and cozy to watch them run around while I was getting my hair done. It's clear Lotus Den is a popular spot -- there were plenty of happy customers when I was there. I recently had my first appointment with Ava and I couldn't be happier! From the moment I sat in the chair, she really took the time to listen to what I wanted and offered helpful suggestions that fit my hair type and lifestyle. The color came out perfect! It was exactly what I was hoping for (if not better!). The cut gave my hair so much life and movement, and I've gotten so many compliments since. Lotus Den Hair Studio is this really cute, retro-chique hair salon in Oceanside, right there on 101 Coast Highway/Cassidy between Ariel's Dance Studio and the Gas station. All I can say is small studio BIG color and cuts!! I was so blessed to be selected for a total makeover by Bethany, the Salon owner and relaxed in the chair while trusting that she was going to chose the right color and cut to match my face and style. And she definitely did. The colors look AMAZING and the cut is one of the best I've ever received, the compliments speak for themselves :-) I will be back for sure. I finally found a salon and hairstylist that I will be going to for as long as I live in California. I moved out here from Ohio about 5 years ago and I've had the worst experience finding a place. My friend told me about Lotus Den and I started to follow them on Instagram. I could see that the stylist who work there love what they do and make it an enjoyable experience for their Clients. I had no problem scheduling an appointment for a Saturday. Was greeted right away by the receptionist and Emily (my hair stylist). I had a blast! Emily did such a fabulous job. Here is the best hair shop in OC. I've always had long, straight hair, but I wanted to try something new, so I searched and searched for a salon that does layering well. I finally found this place, and on my first visit, I was so, so satisfied. The hairdresser was professional, and from the shampoo to the final blow-dry, she was incredibly skilled. I showed her a picture I found on Pintrast, and I was very satisfied with the result. I highly recommend this place. I was in desperate need of finding a stylist I could really trust after receiving a horrible perm and degrading service from another local salon three days prior and I am happy to say that I found her! I finally decided to do something nice for myself after having two babies in under two years, which happened to be changing my hairstyle. I was able to get in within three days and Emily did a fantastic job. She listened to what I was trying to accomplish and made it even better than I imagined. She was incredibly polite and read the vibe perfectly. I started off wanting some quiet relaxation and then started conversing towards the end of the balayage and haircut. I have been going to The Lotus Den for a little over a year now. When we first moved into the area I went to a spa/salon. The lady there never wanted to do my hair how I wanted it. After about 4 colors/cuts, I saw a mom from a mom's group with beautiful hair. I asked her where she got it done and she said, "from Bethany at The Lotus Den." So I made an appointment and have been going there ever since. Bethany and the girls at the salon do a great job with my hair. I came to the Lotus Den after admiring a friends hair. Malia Feilding worked me into her schedule with short notice so that I could be ready for an upcoming trip. I had ballyage and a cut, and I loved the result. I just had my second appt, and of course had a new idea for my hair. Malia never missed a beat and worked to adjust to a fall color. I tend to bring many pictures of colors and cuts that can be confusing to a stylist. Malia is very intuitive and manages to filter through them and hit on the best solution. Stopped in at The Lotus Den for the first time for a haircut. I was kindly greeted by Rebecca who welcomed me to the salon and offered me a glass of wine or a cold beer. With a smile I opted for the beer. She led me to the shampoo station where she proceeded to put a hot towel on my face and give me the most relaxing head and neck massage... talk about royal treatment! During the cut, which was to my request without any corrections, I enjoyed my cold beer and chatting with Rebecca. I highly recommend checking out The Lotus Den! My 9 year old daughter wanted to get feathers in her hair and we were told Lotus Den was the place to go. The prices were very reasonable and the selection was excellent! Katie helped my daughter pick out the feathers and while she was putting them in she explained how to care for them. They look great and she couldn't wait to go to school to show her friends!! I even got a few in my hair!! The place is cute and cozy and the girls were all very friendly. This is such an incredible salon! It's beautiful, and the staff are very friendly and professional! I had my hair done by Emmerson and she was amazing, so sweet and did a beautiful job on my hair, I felt like a gave her little info on what I wanted ( it had been a while since I got my hair done) and she gave me exactly what I had envisioned! I really enjoyed my time with Emmerson. She was very polite, understood exactly what I wanted, and was very knowledgeable in her craft. She worked efficiently and was super professional. We also talked about hair products that could help my hair look fuller and have more volume (I have fine hair), which I really appreciated.
