After a summer tough on my hair and changing thickness and texture, I wanted to give it a little love and try something new. I'm also a budget girl so it's hard to find a good stylist that doesn't break the bank, but I found this great spot after some research. They have different stylists at different price points based on experience and specialties. I chose a junior stylist after reviewing her linked Instagram page on the studio's website. I liked being able to check out exactly who I'm working with and prices transparently ahead of time! They were also super prompt with my appointment, the place was clean and comfortable. And most importantly, my stylist Bryce Kelso worked with me using both the inspo I submitted and her expertise on my hair to find a middle ground I was happy with! For ambiance, the salon played cozy throwback music. Also, it was a former blow dry bar, so they have dryers hanging from the ceiling that hook up to processing machines. Here I am again, this time I will give two star for them acting like they care. I will give the owner or manager the benefit of the doubt the yelp message back to me was very professional. The then text message exchange was a little passive aggressive then acting as if I should have personally called her in the first place to rectify the situation instead of leaping to yell. Oh it also was stated that since my last name isn't listed on yelp that's some sort of problem. Okay so after being out of town/ country I finally reached back to Rebecca's yelp message (against my better judgement). Was able to book a second consultation to talk about the issues with my hair. I expressed my concerns, what I have done to combat the damage (weekly deep conditioning, glaze treatment recommended by my previous stylist who is in WI, how I can't style or do my normal routine with my hair). Her response to the damage was she would have used the same processes, time, lighters and cutting technique and if it was completely damage it would show over my entire head and not just my ends and fronts. Remember I have done multiple treatments to my hair to get it to look better than it did. Yet with that comment she is still agreeing there is damnage yet offers nothing to help with it, so I state the dam age is what it is until it grows out. Now the cut, expressed my concern originally with a dry cut and expressed them again. Told her my normal routine with my hair, I use to be able to go 7-10 days between washes if I wanted, 2 days natural wavy, 3 days straight and the rest curled last couple days maybe even up (bun/pony). I can no longer do that I have to blow dry my hair and curl it right away as you see in the pictures my hair looks like a four yro cut it with kitchen scissors, it then will only last 3 days max cause all the products I have to put in it to get it detangled and frizzy free. I came in with my hair as straight as a board for a reason and she ask me after I say all of this "is this how you usually style your hair straight? If so this is how you should come in with your hair so I can clean it up" She then proceeded to explain to me why she values dry cuts. Once again in my second "correction" consultation I stated how I'm not comfortable with dry cutting my hair. Now clearly with how it turned out the first time the technique does not work (at least for me) and the owner or manager is still pushing it on me as the way to fix the problem. Even received a required form to fill out to build my custom hair cut, which will be used to tell me again that there was miscommunication in the consultation. At this point after sleeping on my final interaction with this place, I would like to just get a portion of my money back so I can pay someone else to fix their problem. I'm not comfortable at this place in anyway, they don't care how the customer feels. After writing this I decided NOPE they are a one star establishment, 0 out of 10 do not recommend. Both of my interactions have not been positive experiences and I do not trust them AT ALL. read more

She was able to work around my hectic schedule even though it took a little time for us to work it out. I showed her what I wanted done and she was super excited about it. I didn't choose a normal hair color so choosing my stylist that wanted to do the colors I chose was important to me. We both know it was going to be an all day process which I was prepared for. We got there at 10am and got to work right away. We had bleaching and coloring to do on my mid back length hair so we jumped right in. There was a couple other stylist there and a couple clients so it wasn't too busy for a Thursday morning. I just want to say that I was a very happy customer after my visit and will return! My stylist was Charissa McDowell and her customer service was loving and caring from the moment I checked in, to the moment I left. I had a TERRIBLE experience with a previous stylist (NOT from this establishment) so I was nervous and hesitant to have anyone touch my hair. I had wanted the mushroom hair coloring and ended up with chemical burns and platinum blonde hair, so nervous was an understatement. I wanted to go back to my roots and clean my layers and Charissa was so understanding and explained the entire process of what she was doing, and even continued to explain while she was performing each stage. This brought comfort and I appreciate the patience and care. My hair is darker than expected but completely understandable given I was going from pretty much extremely light to dark so anything will look darker of course with such a change (and no, a stylist did not say this, it's common sense). My hair has a mind of its own, and for the most part, HATES anything, everyone, and everything. My hair after the visit has been so soft, shiny, and full of body! I have been coming here since 2018 and been a loyal customer. Over the last few years the quality and customer service has gone down hill. I been pretty understanding and been unhappy a few times but kept coming back because I had such a good experience when Rebecca the owner use to do my hair. Today i sent my daughter over for an up due for her senior prom. We went to Michelle. Within an hour of leaving she sent me a photo of her hair falling apart. She was trying to fix it herself but was having a hard time. I called the salon to see if I could send her back so they could quickly fix it.... (I was out of town mind you) i was told "No we are all booked!" And offered NO apology or a solution of any kind. I basically begged and said we just need 10 mins to make it look presentable it doesnt need to be all redone. Surely someone could throw a few pins in her hair while their client is sitting under the dryer or proccessing right?! "My teenager daughter is crying on her prom " I told them. Avery? the manager was not at all empathetic or understanding in the least. I will definatley no longer be returning because how this was handled really rubbed me wrong. More than what had happened even. Update: Rebecca's reply to my review and time line of Events is all false. If someone told me right away we could return in 30 mins we would jump on it. I got a message and missed call an hour and a half later saying she could come in. After intially being told "NO" SEVERAL times after begging...My daughter was in route to a friends trying to get it resolved. After speaking with Rebecca the following Monday, I was further frustrated that she didnt really take accountability but made us wrong for weating a T shirt, (No one told us when booking) and for writing this "hurtful review". The salon has some good stylists and my experience over the years has been good.... But do not go there for updos. They simply do not know how to do them or have the man power.
