I booked an appointment for 10:30am. I was called at 9:44am by another staff member who asked if I could come in at 10:45-10:50, as the stylist was running late. It seemed reasonable that they gave me enough notice, so I happily said okay. I arrived at around 10:48am, was checked in, and was told she was almost done. At 11:00 I was starting to get frustrated and was concerned I wasn't going to be seen soon. I then noticed my assigned stylist picked up a curling iron to begin curling her clients hair. I waited a few more minutes, just in case she wasn't going to be curling her entire head, and at 11:07 I had to walk up to the front desk and tell them I was leaving. The lady at the front desk seemed genuinely apologetic, but there was nothing that could really be done at that point. It's extremely inconsiderate and unprofessional to have a scheduled appointment run 40 min late. Update: The stylist also reached out directly via text to apologize and offer a complimentary service. I've been seeing Megan Lively for about 7 months now, and I seriously couldn't imagine trusting anyone else with my hair! She originally did my sewed-in extensions, which looked absolutely stunning and held up beautifully. I got my hair done by Jelisa and I would have to rate her a zero do not go with her. I showed her an inspo picture I wanted my hair to look like, fully understand that there maybe sessions to reach that but instead I got botched. Was debating on leaving a review but after everything she did not want to refund my money back. Jelisa tried to gaslight me making it seem it was my fault instead of taking ownership of the mistake and trying to fix it. Spoke to the owner and told me I had to pay extra money if I wanted to fix my hair since I needed low light to get close to the inspo picture, how is it my fault and why should I pay extra for something I asked for. I'm not a confrontational person, my sister had to make sure I called and express i was not happy with the service, i literally called her crying.I heard great things about this salon that's why I went but ended up being my worst nightmare. Got an awful hair coloring here. I was issued a partial refund and left with the worst hair color I've ever had and tons of damage! Worst salon experience ever. I asked to be a lived-in warm toned blonde. I didn't have box dye on my hair. I ALWAYS go to the salon for my hair color and use salon quality products (K18) on my hair religiously. The stylist over processed my ends, instead of leaving them out of the foils. Proceeded to rip the foils out of my hair and wash them with HOT water. Then when she was done toning my hair she ripped the brush through my wet, damaged hair. Blamed me for having pre existing damage, but I get regular trims and rarely use heat on my hair. When I spoke with the owner she tried to act like I was asking the impossible; with box dye on my hair, trying to go platinum; but that was not the case at all. My hair lightened quickly because I had professional color on my hair. The stylist let the bleach sit for too long and was bleaching my ends at the same time as my roots which I've NEVER seen a professional do before. I was trying to go slightly lighter and summery, something sophisticated and youthful looking. But this is the mess I ended up with. There was a huge lack of communication from the stylist and a major lack of consultation. The stylist just was not experienced enough, so I have no idea why the receptionist recommended this person. My most recent hair experience here was with Hannah M. and she did a wonderful job. She was very warm and bubbly, which l really appreciate. She also gave me the best blowout l've had in 20 years! Most hairstylists l go to do not actually fully dry my hair and it leaves it to getting wavy from the natural curl of my hair. It irks me to no end. She asked me if after getting my hair cut if l wanted it curled, straightened, etc. which was awesome and l just opted for straight since l have naturally curly hair (we all want what we dont have, am l right?). And it was perfect. She also cut my bangs to where l asked and didnt try to persuade me to do otherwise, which many hairstylists will cut them to the length they want, not the one l specified. Mean Girls I have debated for several days if I should leave a review on my experiences on this salon, the owner, and the staff. I decided that I should stand up for what is right and for myself. Long story short is that the staff is composed of young 20 year old women (I know one is 18) and their inexperience at customer service shows by the way they think it's okay to lie to your face and to the owner and how they get upset if you, the client, are not happy with your hair. They tell you "I want you to be 110% happy with your hair" and when you voice that you are not happy with it, then you are penalized for it. Typically an owner would want to fix any problem or issue with one of their staff member's clients if an issue is persisting. Or someone of senior status, with more experience, would be asked to help. Nothing like this is done at this salon. Instead, when you come back to have your hair redone, you are met with contempt and a rushed half ass job. They can't get you out of that chair fast enough. The owner told me that the girls don't make anything on "redos." No, but here's the thing. I, as the client, still tipped the first time I got my hair done. And then, if I see that my stylist really does care about making me 110% happy with my hair, then I'll keep coming back. That's an ongoing income that the stylist could count on. On top of it all, instead of the owner reaching out to me to ask me about my experience and about my side, she tells me she had to find a stylist that would be comfortable with doing my hair considering that I had 3 redos prior. Two of those redos were due to the stylists telling me they had the color I had been given previously, but not until I was done processing did I find out they had not used the same color. Yet this is MY fault somehow and me being difficult... ? My situation and my experience would take a really long time to go over in detail. And none of my side is fabricated. But I do have saved texts from three of the stylists there (Amanda, Hannah, and Madeline) and the owner (Hannah's stepmother, Amanda) that would prove my side of the story in case anyone wants to say I'm falsifying any of it. I had Hannah even tell me that they are one of the few salons that hire staff with little or no experience. I know these stylists need to learn somewhere, but then you would think these stylists and the owner would be even more willing and understanding to fix any simple fixes. That they would work with the client, especially when they have only been gracious and understanding themselves, to achieve a very achievable request. (Layers, lowlights, and highlights is all.) I think every stylist at Loft 914 should take into consideration that some of the clients who are coming in have been getting their hair done longer than they have been alive. So, these clients know what they want and are confident in what they want. That doesn't mean they are bitchy or difficult. I've personally lived in 8 different states and have gone to a multitude of salons. I know what works well with my hair and what doesn't. I think it's surreal that at almost 40 years old I am dealing with mean girls. GROW UP girls. And lying to get out of admitting to your own mistakes is shameful. How are you ever going to grow as an artist? But that's not my guilty conscience that will be nagging at me. read more

Hannah did a full balayage and canceled out the orange undertones I disliked. It was a struggle getting the box dye out of my hair but it was obvious she knew what she was doing. I went to make an appointment on Thursday and saw there was an appointment for Saturday. I was happy because I really needed my hair done. I've drove past this place so many times since It has been opened and wanted to try it. I was a little skeptical cause I thought to myself this stylist has plenty of appointments open! Why?! I decided to still give her a chance cause maybe my Intuition was wrong. Saturday comes and I walk in thinking wow this place is really cute. The girl at the front desk was very friendly. I then felt very comfortable. Let me start by saying I've had my hair highlighted since I was 17. I've been doing pretty much the same thing to my hair for the last 20 years. Partial highlight and cut. I told Meagan I wanted highlights that were more of a white and less of an yellow. I also wanted about 2-3 inches of dead hair taken off. I don't think this was too hard of an ask. Once my hair was rinsed out I noticed it was a lot darker then it normally looks when it's colored. I thought we'll let's get it dried. She asked me if I normally get my hair toned.. I usually don't. My hair ended up toned. The biggest problem is the haircut. It was hard to tell anything was wrong with it at first as it had some beach waves in it. The next day I straightened it to see that the cut was way off. I had pieces of hair that where way longer then others. So much so that I couldn't wear it down. I was mad as I knew I would have to go back to have it fixed. I messaged the owner on yelp and she said that Meagan would contact me to fix it. I really didn't want to go back to her but felt i had too give her another chance. I Went back a few days later to have it "fixed" Meagan had asked me what was wrong with it?! Honestly at that point I wanted to run out of that chair cause I knew it wasn't going to be good. Had it recut and it is still really uneven. The left side is shorter then the right. The owner said I could come back for the third time to have it fixed. I thought about it and decided that it was best for me to move on from this place. No one should have to go back 3 times to have there hair cut done right. I get that some people are stylist don't mix.. but her skill is not good enough to be cutting hair. I'm sorry it's not. Then off to the charges. I put 75 dollar deposit down. I paid Meagan by square 210. So my total came out to 285. First of all I didn't believe this service was worth 285. I'll spend any amount of money on my hair.. if it's done right. I emailed the owner about this and after going back and forth I got the 75 dollars back. I will chalk that up to I was overcharged..ugh. One of the things that bothered me about this place is when I first called I was told the haircut included the highlights which really confused me cause I've never had highlights include a haircut. When I got the 210 bill I was like 210 for highlights?! This was wrong you do pay for a haircut. Please really think twice about coming here. I'm sure some of the stylist are good but I would avoid Megan. She is a nice girl I just think she needs more experience. Way more! This place rents out booths to the stylist. If I would have known my hair cut was this bad I would of not given the nice tip that I did. read more

My hair came out nice but my only complaint is pricing is different online. I got solid color and trim and on the website it said my total was 150 with my 75 deposit going towards it. I told my hair stylist but she wasn't sure what I was talking about and said it would be 205. I thought maybe it was a mistake but found my receipt and it says 150.
