Day, the manager, helped us pick the frame out for an oil painting my mother did in the 70s. The painting always seemed pale and washed out. When I came to pick it up. Day's suggestion had transformed the painting into someting dramatic and bold. Really wonderful as that painting has been part of my life for 50 years and is like a new one! The posters we had done were all mounted with exacting precision. Crystal and Day insisted on wrapping the art in protective foam. Their store is small and wonderfully cluttered. This was pretty expensive stuff. The owner was appreciative when I told him I wanted no compensation. After I paid for some purchases I made, he offered me food, but I declined and told him instead to make a small donation to a scholarship fund, whose address I gave him. He never did. The next time I went to the store, I don't think he recognized me and was pretty rude. Perhaps he's just moody.
