Straight from their website, "at the corner of Roland Avenue and 36th Street. We are located in the rear of the Historic Hampden Hall building, with our entrance off of the rear parking lot." I was walking around that building for a bit before I found them, haha. If you see Truist along 36th Street, it's on the other side of it. We carry all kinds of crystals, candles, and, yes, even cauldrons. In addition, we have a selection of over 100 tumbled stones, incense, oils, herbs, sterling silver jewelry, books, journals, faeries, figurines, wall hangings, tapestries, wind chimes, hoodoo kits, holy water, note cards, art prints, artist embellished prints, stickers, swords, athames, tarot cards, angel cards, bags & more!" and "We offer tarot readings, angel card readings, astrology charts, and animal communication readings. These are available by walk-in or appointments." It's a cozy shop with ALL THE THINGS! I was browsing all the different items, there are really so many... and so much that I've never seen elsewhere! Very unique and niche. There are different 'walking altars' around the shop for different things. I asked a worker about this, and she explained to me the different purposes for them. I thought that was pretty cool. I decided to ask the staff for recommendations for a gift to a coworker. They expertly suggested to me different things that had different purposes and explained them to me. They were so knowledgeable! I decided on a door hanger made of selenite and black tourmaline crystals. This offered protection, grounding, and balance. They also explained that selenite is a softer stone and to avoid getting it wet as water could break it down. Something I would've never known! I included that information with my gift. Thanks to the awesome staff for helping me with my purchase! They also had a spinning display with different cards. The one that said "Kind People Are The Best Kind Of People" really spoke to me, so I got that to include with my gift. I like that it's a one stop shop for all your needs :) Will definitely return here when I'm in the area!

We spent about an hour in there. There's two levels, where books are well presented and deals featured. You walk through the shelves, and you'll see the different genres featured and bins with sale items clearly marked. The upper floor has poetry, photography, gardening, and cookbooks. The street floor has fiction, science books, and women's literature. These are just the genres that I remember. The other side of the store has antiques and other well curated items for sale. You can tell that the owners take a lot of pride in the presentation of their store. I loved it! I recommend anyone in the area to stop by and check it out.

So after the eye roll and the sigh, I ask... and as is always the case, the question is replied to with complete indifference ['If you want it, get it. If you don't... cool... but put it back where u got it. I ain't movin']. That's always been my 'turn off' w/ this place since I started going in the 90s. Sadly, EP has been one of the only stalwarts that has stood the test of time in the area. Granted, they have good genuine products in stock. Fantastic body oils, tinctures, lotions, soaps, incense, teas, fabrics, art, sculptures a literal library of wonderful Afro centric literature, etc... it's all there. And if it isn't, they can prob get it for you. But it's the 'indifference' for me. I'm sure it works for them bc they've been the same way for 20+ years. While the price points may be a lil higher than expected, taking into account that they are a specialty shop catering to a a specific need/ demographic, the pricing is definitely justified - especially in this market w/ so many businesses closing. I made sure to smell all of the candles and soaps as they lit up the aroma in the store when I walked in. I chose to buy Thrilla in Vanilla and the Lavender Leche candles. It was great because their was a sale going on 2 candles for 35$. Also, you can bring back your used candle glass and exchange it for a new candle which is really cool! The store is so cute and inviting. Located right on Frederick Road in downtown Catonsville, there is plenty of street parking in the area. The staff at CCL are welcoming and helpful, directing you to the area of the shop for either permanent jewelry or the charm bar to create charm jewelry. I've only done the permanent jewelry so far, which is all displayed nicely on a large table in the center of the store - this gives you a chance to look at the different styles and decide what you like. The staff is also super helpful in offering guidance or opinions on what would look best - either for new permanent jewelry or adding to an existing stack. Once you've picked out what you'd like, the staff then measures and makes sure the jewelry fits well. Overall, I have had multiple great experiences at CCL, and will continue to return. Their website lists the different types of jewelry they offer as well as pricing to give you an idea of the cost before you arrive, which I appreciate so I can scope out what I like before arriving.
