Usually after a pedicure my feet are soft & smooth but disappointingly they still had patches of rough skin. And my heels I barely noticed a difference. Final note though is the polish on my toes was beautifully done. Honestly Im not sure Im going back. Just because I looked so forward to smooth feet afterwards. Moving to the area and looking for a new nail salon. I did a walk in, and asked for a manicure, this salon doesn't offer shellac or dip nails, so I settled on acrylics with gel polish. Seems like a friendly, clean salon with regulars. The owner who did my nails was friendly and funny. I won't necessarily write them off yet, but my thumb nail chipped and broke off the very next day (never had that happen to me before, and I get my nails done regularly)and the rest of my nails seem bumpy and a little sloppy. (lady in pink shirt) tries handing me a card saying, why don't you just call (&rambles some other sh*t about only having 3 people and they're too busy) as she's standing over the appointment book with a pen in hand. They literally don't care about their customers and only care about getting people in and out as quickly as possible. The gal that did my nails whipped through them so fast and couldn't care less what they looked like. Not to mention she was totally rude and short for no reason at all. I called and made an appointment for 3 pedicures and 2 manicures. The minute we got there it was a fire drill with getting us in and out. We didn't even get to have the pedicures together and were split up. I showed the tech what design I was after for my daughter and so snapped "no i can't do that". Her tone and deliver was uncalled for. If you can't provide good and quality service to people then don't book appointments plain and simple. I'm not spending $200 to someone who doesn't give a sh*t. Ordinarily, this was a pleasant opportunity to relax and have a pedicure. I decided to try gel nails and it was okay for a brief time. I am elderly and my nails have always been thin, so the gel proved to be a bad idea. I tried acrylic which was hard on my already thin nails. I went back to a pedicure only. I injured my back and, inadvertently, missed an appointment. I went for my last appointment at Lotus yesterday. I was treated as "persona non grata". I came with a back brace and a cane. They couldn't care less. The owners are all about money. They don't give you an appointment card or a reminder call, and you are given a date in the middle of the owners working as they the dates and times are back and forth. They really don't care about the people as customers unless they are regular, big money customers. read more

Visiting from out of town, went to Lotus with my mom. I do recommend calling at least a week in advance to make an appointment (no walk ins). It was very nice and calm inside. I don't know what to say about the low-star reviews on here except that it seems indicative of Yelp's biggest flaw: 1) most of the time, only people with negative experiences leave reviews and 2) the negative experience doesn't usually have much to do with the actual service. (However, I feel it's only fair to caveat with the fact that I only ever get pedicures, never manicures.) I walked in without an appointment here today-- I wouldn't have, but highly-rated Redmond Nails was all booked up-- I called another salon which was described as doing nails. They didn't, but said that they normally referred people to Lotus. Really?? Even with all the bad reviews? Because my toenails were driving me crazy, I plunged in anyway! How bad could it be? I'm so glad I took the plunge. I walked into a room of happy, chattering repeat customers. The pedi basins were glittering and spotless. The color selection was adequate-- not to criticize folks who need a choice of more than 300 colors-- for my purposes (gold-glitter-on-gold selection, in the spirit of Aretha Franklin-- "Sweating Diamonds") it was fine. The chairs were really comfortable, and all the massage functions worked just great. But then, before I knew it, out of nowhere, I was in the midst of maybe the best foot massage of my life. Seriously. I learned things about my feet I never knew. I feel life-fluid is now circulating from my left foot to my brain for the first time in ages!! Hours later, I'm still feeling it. Paul is the name of the tech. He's apparently in high demand, and I got extremely lucky on a Thursday afternoon. Aside from the bomb massage, the rest of the pedi was luxurious, while efficient. This was my first time to Lotus. I'm typically a positive person and look for good in people and situations. So here is the good: the manicurist was responsive in conversation and she gave a very good hand and arm massage. That is the weigh in on the pro side. The cons unfortunately out-weigh: The polish did not fully cover the nail bed so it looked like there was a 3/4 day grow-out. The second coat was not applied to the same area as the first coat. No top coat was applied. Multiple pin-holes showed up within minutes of leaving. Despite my efforts to preserve my investment, the polish started chipping after the second day. Finally, the whole thing felt rushed and though I can't be certain there was a sense of a speed competition between the manicurists (my friend was with me and had a similar experience to mine). I do not plan to return to Lotus. read more
