Posing our front by the cannons, holding real bullets from the Battle of Franklin.

This is such a great piece of Tennessee and US history to get to experience and learn about. Evan was an AMAZING tour guide--so knowledgeable and entertaining. There were 6 of us in our group, ages 7, 12, 13 and three adults and we were all fully intrigued and impressed. Definitely worth the time (an hour or so) and price...though I recommend purchasing your tickets through Lotz House directly and not a third party which was a major upcharge. Highly recommend this tourist stop and then seeing charming downtown Franklin.

We had a guided tour today given by Tony. We learned so much about this battle and history of the Lotz family. Money very well spent. You will not be disappointed visiting this historic site. Definitely take the guided tour or you will miss a very important story on the civil war. Bob and Noeleen

Good tour. You couldn't take photos in the house but you could take photos in the gift shop.

We are in town to visit family who just moved here and followed the signs in town to the civil war sites on a whim. Stopped in and decided to take the tour and I am SO thankful we did. What an incredible tour. JT was our guide and he was Incredible . A really fantastic storyteller

First off Evan , thank you for a very informative and knowledgeable tour of this beautiful 160 year old home that is incredibly preserved. The story of the people that lived in this house was told with such reverence and respect of their lives. What a time they lived in and through. The history of this era may not date back far but it's an important part of history and the lives that were lost and the ones that moved on from it and that lived through it. The History of this home is amazing. The hardships and the conquests of what happened right outside the walls of this home. The men that fought , lived and died outside the doors of that home. You must see this as well as the Carter house and the carnton plantation. This battle was huge.

Such a wonderfully informative tour. It lasted two hours and Chuck, who is a retired high school history teacher, taught us more about this location of the Civil War than we ever imagined. Called ground zero of the battle of Franklin, the stories are horrendous. You will come away with a love for Matilda Łótz's artwork. This family endured much but got back up and kept moving. No photos are allowed in the museum.

Great tour by Chuck today. I'm not a Civil War buff and learned so much about the Battle of Franklin and the residents of the house.

What a story! Kelly our guide was absolutely wonderful. We went to several tours while in TN and this one by far was the most fascinating.

Instead of calling off the tour, Alicia gave me a private one. She was a phenomenal guide--her passion for Franklin, its rich history, and its community was obvious from the start. The tour was fun, dynamic, and incredibly insightful. Alicia shared each encounter with such historical accuracy and animated storytelling that I literally felt chills, all while feeding my love of learning about history and culture. Her reputation in the community is undeniable. Before, during, and after the tour, so many people spoke highly of both the quality of her tours and of her as a person. I originally found Franklin Walking Tours online, but once I arrived in town, every local I asked pointed me straight to Alicia--often described as "the tours with the lanterns." While we walked, it was clear how well-known and well-loved she is. Watching her interact with the community made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming, almost like being at home. Later, when I went to dinner, everyone who asked about my day lit up when I mentioned her tour and immediately started raving about it. Franklin Walking Tours are hands down a must when visiting. I will definitely be back to try the other tours--and I'm hoping to bring my family and maybe even redo this one. :)
