Did the Jack Daniels tour through Mint Julep again. I did this tour 2 yrs ago and my driver/tour guide then was Erin. We had a great time then and Erin was awesome! It so happens that Erin was our driver/tour guide again as I got a text from her the day before. Unfortunately, the day the trip, Ray turn out to be our guide but Erin was still our driver. It worked out great! We got two for the price of one. Erin mainly drove but did chat here and there on the trip. Ray was very knowledgable on so many topics! He did a great job entertaining us on the ride. Ray was also very thoughtful and considerate of everyone in the van. He made sure we were always hydrated with water and the temperature in the van wasn't too cold. The worst part of the trip was the rain. When we stopped for lunch, Ray and Erin provided us with ponchos just in case. We end up not needing them. When we got to Jack Daniels, both of them were adamant that we should take the ponchos just in case. As it turns out, it down poured right at the start of the tour. I mean as soon as you walk out those doors to take pics and then board the bus, it came down hard!! Thankfully we were able to throw on our ponchos! Took the Margarita and Murals tour with Thomas "Titi" and had a blast. Titi did a great job showing us the most famous murals and some of the lesser known. He also gave great tips on how to look during the photos and took tons of photos from all angles. One thing, the margarita place was ehhhh the base margarita mix was super sour. One of the girls in the group couldn't swallow it at all. You could probably just have margs in the car and hit a few more murals! read more

Ray was amazing and very knowledgeable with Tennessee history. Throughout my experience, Ray wanted to open the door to the van every time showing how courteous he was and I was appreciate of the extra effort he went to make my experience a good one. The amount of Tennessee knowledge he has just astounds me, but made for great conversation as we continued to the next destination. If I come back to Nashville, I want to have him drive me and my family around. The Jack Daniel's Hometown Experience was worth every penny. First off, I didn't have to drive which makes adds a sense of relief knowing you will be sampling whiskey at the end of the tour. Jack Daniel's is an amazing place to see, but you have to walk around it to experience everything it has to offer. Lunch at Miss Mary Bobo's was really good and it was my first time trying collard greens. Indulging in the homemade fried chicken, candied apples, collard greens and fried okra was a true southern home-cooking experience. Worth the visit if you are in Lynchburg. We finished the experience with a visit to Jack Daniel's grave. While it may not be as exciting the distillery tour, it was worth the quick visit. It's interesting to see how old some of the headstones are in the local cemetery. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys history behind whiskey making and if you want to know more about Jack Daniels whiskey and how it is made. read more

My friend and I did our due diligence for our trip to Nashville. We did a bunch of research but decided to give Mint Julep a try. At the end of the trip, we were happy with the whole experience. Rosie was the best tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about everything! She was a very safe driver. We had a lot of questions and she was able to answer everything from history to suggestions on which bars to go to and what restaurants to eat for dinner. You can tell that Rosie is very passionate about her job. We did the Legends tour, which included round-trip transportation, a tour of the George Dickel Distellery, lunch, the Angel Share tour of the Jack Daniel Distellery, a souvenir whiskey cup from Jack Daniel, and bottled water on trip. Both tours of the distilleries were very informative. If you're an out of towner and love whiskey, we suggest doing this tour. read more

We used Mint Julep Experiences to plan and provide an exceptional Tennessee Whiskey Tour trip for a guys trip while in Nashville, Tenn. I contacted them months in advance of our stay in Nashville and Jon asked all the questions so that he could better understand what we wanted to do and what the makeup of our group was. His communications during the planning stage were impeccable with me and I always felt very confident with the trip. He helped us plan a full day of touring three (3) distilleries (George Dickel, Jack Daniels, Uncle Nearest) and one (1) blending company (Southern Collective). Two days before the tour, one of our other friends heard about the great tour we were planning and asked to go with us. Mint Julep having an exceptional reputation, was able to squeeze in one more guest on our tour at all four stops. We were very thankful! Once we actually got to take the trip this past week, the impeccable service did not stop with the planning, it was carried over into the trip as well. Jonathan was our tour director and he was in communication with me the day before as well as the morning of our pickup. He arrived ahead of time in a beautiful black sprinter van and patiently waited for our group to load up after a "long" night in Nashville the night before. The van was very spacious and had plenty of leg room. The temperature was perfect and he had a cooler of bottled waters for us to consume on the trip. We left at 8:30 (8:35am) and headed off to George Dickel. He was kind enough to let us take a pit stop along the way. He did warn us that due to our late start and the pit stop that we might not get to Dickel in time for the start of the tour, but we made it just a couple minutes late and the wonderful tour coordinator at Dickel allowed us to join. This tour was fantastic and had we not been with Mint Julep, they may have not allowed us to start the tour due to our late arrival. Another great benefit of traveling with Mint Julep, they are recognized by all the distilleries and are willing to make extended accommodations if needed. We did not intentionally try to be late, but nature calls. Our next stop was about an hour in Lynchburg, TN to visit the downtown area and grab some lunch. We chose the Barrel House BBQ joint and were pleasantly surprised. It was a great place to eat and the Jack Daniels factory store was located in town and we got to purchase some merchandise. After lunch we were headed to Jack Daniels. This tour was amazing. Jack Daniels is HUGE and we got to see a majority of the facility on our tour. Our tour director was exceptional at Jack Daniels. The tasting room was phenomenal here and worth the price alone. If you like being surrounded by Whiskey barrels and tall glass, this is the place for you. It really added to the ambiance! From there we drove to Uncle Nearest. This was a really neat story and they have an amazing facility. They are not quite ready to produce their own whisky in-house, but should be operational in a year or two. The grounds around the place are beautiful as it looks like an old horse stables they repurposed. They also claim to have the world's longest continuous bar. I believe it is 513 ft long. Crazy and cool at the same time. We finished our tour by going back to Nashville and stopping in at Southern Collective. They source barrels from around the United States and so their own blending. We got to sample some rare whiskeys and taste some of their aromatic blends. These guys fully understand whiskey. They can create your own blend and label. Really Cool concept! Jonathan dropped us off at our hotel after it was all completed around 6:30pm. Of our five day trip, this day will be cherished for years to come. The Mint Julep staff did an amazing job start to finish. If you are planning a special tour for your friends or just looking to take one of their pre-arranged tours, don't hesitate. Took one of their first tours in Nashville two days ago called the Rising Stars. This tour took us to Leiper's Fork Distillery and Corsair Distillery at the Wedgewood-Houston location. Both locations were very unique and different in their own ways... Leiper's Fork is out in the suburbs, which was a beautiful drive to get their. About 25ish minutes outside of downtown. It's fun driving through the homes, while hearing fun facts from the tour guide (ours was Sean) and the bus driver who had a wealth of knowledge about the area. Then, we toured Leiper's Fork. The Cabin which is where the retail store, office, main welcome area and tasting room is beautiful. Old cabin with lots of history, the guide will tell you the story of how it made it's way to that location. Then, you make your way to the back building which is where you learn about the entire whiskey making process. The tour is thorough and informative. Lastly, you head on to the tasting room where you learn the proper way to smell and taste whiskey. At Corsair, they have crafted fun and diverse mini-cocktails so you can see how their products can be used in a variety of creative ways. The drinks are all very tasty and unique. They will talk a bit about what's inside each drink and particularly focus on the Corsair spirit which is always very uniquely crafted and named. And there too, you will get the opportunity to walk around and the entire distillery learning the process from mashing to bottling. Both locations have retail to purchase and commentate your fun tour. The staff at Mint Julep are a pleasure to work with; responsive, friendly and knowledgeable about their product. We took the east tour-Stitzel/Weller, Town Branch, Buffalo Trace-and had a great time. Our guide Greg and driver John were both incredibly knowledgeable about the distilling process as well as the history surrounding many of these distilleries, and were very engaged in helping us get the most out of this amazing experience. This is the best way to see multiple distilleries; no need to drive yourself, just relax and enjoy the bourbon on the trip and the beautiful horse farms. Mint Julep will also arrange custom experiences, which I intend to take advantage of the next time I do this. They can arrange tours of horse farms or cooperage operations as well. All in all, I can't say enough good things about this trip and the experience we had; I'm already scheming to arrange another trip to Louisville! read more

We booked the JD tour with Mint Julep after some research and I am very glad we did. Our guide Zach from Mint Julep was knowledgeable and friendly. He made the ride down enjoyable and provided a lot of info on Nashville which helped us plan our other experience for the day. The Angel's Share Tour w/ Jacob was informative and we got to try some amazing samples of whiskey. The JD facility is amazingly large and seeing the operation was pretty cool, Jacob made the event a lot of fun and provided excellent info and entertainment without being too over the top. We went during a colder day so we could not see the spring that feeds the facility but, we did get to see how the water runs throughout the plant. The BBQ meal we were provided was very tasty and the small town that you can walk around has some nice little trinkets to buy. The Mint Julep was a great company to book with because the customer service was great, the vans were very clean and comfortable, and the size made it very approachable. I highly recommend this trip and company. We liked it so much we booked an additional tour with them the next day to see some other more local sights. read more

Due to COVID, we could not go on our tour so I inquired about getting a refund three times. The first two times I was told I would get a refund pending the owner approval, and this last time I spoke with the owner when I was told I would absolutely not be getting one. I was offered a voucher to use within two years and told to accept it; nothing else would be done. When I asked why our money was nonrefundable despite never going on the tour (i.e., which would require payment for a service) nor this company providing any service beyond the basic registration. And, when I said we don't know when we'd be in Nashville again, she got even angrier and eventually hung up on me. I get it these are challenging times but that was the worst experience I've ever had with any company, now or in recent memory. I've filed a BBB complaint hoping this resolves and I'm refunded the money that I am due and I hope that my experience never occurs to anyone else either. read more

One of the best decisions I made in traveling to Kentucky was selecting Mint Julep as my tour guide through Bourbon country. Our guide was Ms. Cindy and our driver was Mr. Larry. Two of the sweetest people I met while in Louisville. The Bourbon tours are well worth the price. I got to see 3 major Bourbon distilleries and I didn't have to drive all around the Kentucky countryside. Maker's Mark, Heaven Hill and Jim Beam were in the group we chose. The tours were informative and fun. Ms. Cindy made sure we had water and constantly asked if we needed anything. The tour was definitely the highlight of my trip. This was our fist time to Nashville and we definitely wanted to visit the Jack Daniels Distillery so we booked a tour with the mint julep experience. We might the driver at the Omni. Jordan our driver met us with a great attitude and a warm smile. The bus was very nice with comfy seats, snacks, waters, and even jacks to charge our phones. The drive out was beautiful and Jordan was very knowledgeable. He even stopped for us to use the restroom and whatever we needed at the store. When we arrived at the location Jordan walked us in and had everything handled. The tour was great and so informative. We did the angel tour and our tour guide Debbie was awesome! After the tour and tasting Jordan was waiting for us where he drove us to lunch and we had a couple different places to choose from as well as had time to do some shopping (on a side note the county is dry so no booze with lunch lol) after that he asked if we would like to see Jack Daniel's final resting place. We all agreed and we were able to see Jack's grave which was pretty neat. After that it was a beautiful drive back to the hotel. It was a great experience for even ones that are not a huge fan of whiskey like myself but wanted to explore and learn the history. I highly recommend the trip! read more

Booked this tour on a recent trip to Nashville with my husband. Because we were a small group we were picked up in a beautiful suburban. They provide a cooler with ice and water so you are able to bring your own booze for the trip. Dennis was our driver and he was fantastic. We enjoyed tours and tasting at both George Dickel and Jack Daniel's. In between is a brief stop for lunch (included) and a short visit to the Town of Lynchburg to shop. Finally we stopped to see the grave site of Jack Daniel's and have one last toast to him (whiskey provided). All and all this is well worth taking and I would highly recommend. read more

I went on the "LEGENDS: TENNESSEE WHISKEY ADVENTURE (JACK DANIEL'S + GEORGE DICKEL)" tour on July 6th, 2018. Because this was such a great experience, it deserves a great review. If you're on the fence about what service to hire for a Tennessee Whisky Trail tour, I highly recommend this tour company. This may get a little long so I'll try to break it into topics so you can go to the things that matter most to you. Tour Group Size: The size of our tour group was perfect. Our tour group was only 8 travelers which made it a nice personal experience. By the end of the day, everyone got to know each other well enough to have a really good time and several laughs along the way. Tour Vehicle: The vehicle was what I can best describe as a large luxury passenger van. It had a very classy, and professional appearance both inside and out. The interior had comfortable leather seats, USB charging ports, excellent AC, and the company had an ice chest full of bottled water. Itinerary: The itinerary was very well planned. At no time did we ever feel rushed to get from one location to the next. The tour included five location stops: George Dickel Distillery, the One22West Bar & Grill for lunch, the Jack Daniel's Distillery, Lynchburg Square for gift shopping, and a quick trip to the grave site of Jack Daniel. The approximate one way travel time to/from Nashville was 90 minutes. The tour started on time in the morning and got us back to Nashville as scheduled. Driver: If memory serves, our drivers name was Dan. He was personable and accommodating of everyone's needs throughout the entire day. He was knowledgeable of the tours were about to receive and provided a lot of great information to fill in the time to/from Coffee and Lynchburg counties. At the cemetery we were offered about an ounce of Jack Daniel's to raise a toast at Jack Daniel's grave site. That was one of the best touches I've ever experienced on a tour. As a 22 year veteran of the US Army, raising a toast to the fallen is a long held tradition that means a lot to me. Very classy touch. On the way back to Nashville a passenger needed a restroom break. Our driver stopped at the closest gas station without hesitation. As we approached Nashville we encountered heavy rain. Our driver asked where we were all staying. Everyone was fairly close to where the tour started the tour, he dropped everyone off at their requested destinations saving everyone a walk and/or taxi.
