Consistently awful experiences, spread out over years. After the initial shockingly bad experience,…read moreI've turned here as a last resort hoping that "surely they've gotten their act together by now." But sadly, no. I should clarify my bad experiences were all administrative not medical. Most recent was last month. I called because my teenage son was in severe oral pain . I explained that it was his wisdom tooth, that he needed definitely the one hurting him and probably all four out, but I stressed we did not have dental insurance and would be paying out-of-pocket. The girl said, "It's $75 for an exam and if it's necessary we can do the extraction in office the same day, which will be more." Well that sounded absolutely perfect so we headed over. The doctor examined my son, got X-rays, determined he should have all four wisdom teeth extracted, and wrote a referral. But wait, I thought the girl said they could do the extraction there. Nope. And I don't just mean they couldn't do it the same day as she had assured me they could, I'm saying they can't do them at all. Total waste of money & waste of time. We had to do the entire thing over including the x-rays, at a dental office that actually does wisdom teeth extractions. Nothing we got from Belmont dental was transferable. The referral was totally irrelevant, as were the x-rays, because dental offices do their own consultations regardless of what some unrelated office has determined. Money for nothing. I would compare this to calling a mechanic about your A/C not working, having them tell you "yes we'll take a look," and then after they confirm it isn't working, they charge you but then refer you to another shop to start the process all over. I brought it here under the assumption you could fix it. I don't need you to tell me my air-conditioning doesn't work. I'm the one telling you it's not working. Just like it was very obvious my son's wisdom tooth needed to be extracted. Wisdom teeth are inherently flagged for removal, that's "Dentisting 101". The pressure to preemptively remove all four wisdom teeth has been a factor for all five of my children since they got adult teeth, so there's literally no other way it was gonna go the moment one or more of the teeth actually started being a problem . What even was the point of this appointment if they couldn't help my son? There were two equally outrageous appointments years ago I should have reviewed as soon as it happened, but in every instance this practice has demonstrated utter disregard for our time and cost imposed. I'd go as far as to call them dishonest. And now that I've had three bad experiences, I'm never going back.

The next day it fell off. They put a filling on my tooth. It fell off. when I called to make the appointment, the receptionist was very rude and as she hung up the phone, I heard her complaining about me. She would not hear why I needed the appointment because it was to fix the cap. That's half covered. They want to bill insurance to fix there screw up and insurance will not pay to have it done a second time because they've already paid this Dentist for the work Also pd 1k for a denture didn't last a year

The woman dentist could not extract my tooth. Therefore, another dentist, (male), had to come in and try to extract the tooth, and couldn't...then he admitted to leaving a piece of it in my gums because he "could not get to it." He advised it could take "a while for it to work itself out", so three days after extraction I am still in excruciating pain, knowing I do not have dry socket, I have a history of stomach problems and cannot/will not take narcotics nor can I take ibuprofen... I called the dentist to assist with the pain . The woman dentist working today advised that she recommends only taking ibuprofen, even though she knows how bad the extraction was because she couldn't do it herself, and with how long they worked on trying to extract my tooth. This dentist will not help you further with any pain remedies! You will be left in pain and having to seek care at an urgent care sadly, with another co-pay because these dentists cannot fulfill their duties for aftercare, for the pain that they left you in! They do not care about you after you leave their seat. Do not let them fool you into thinking that they do! After the conversation and the tones with the people in this office, all they want is for you to get back in the chair for another co-pay and for them to tell you, they cannot give you any pain medication, and to go see an oral surgeon! I recommend seeing an oral surgeon before this dentist office if you need any extractions! They clearly had no business trying to take out a tooth if they could not do it fully. I regret not paying attention to this yelp rating before I went.

I was worried that when I was finally brave enough to go back, I'd get a very unhelpful lecture and not want to go back. Well, this dentist listened to what had happened to me and was able to really put me at ease. My teeth feel better than ever and I look forward to my appointments. The staff there is very courteous and professional. They seem like they genuinely enjoy working there. One perk of working there is that they are closed on Fridays so the employees always have a 3-day weekend, which establishes a much more balanced work-life balance. So not only are they great dentists, but they seem to treat their employees well, and I like supporting businesses that treat their employees like people. Lastly, the office is very clean and it is not peppered with marketing materials or scary pictures of what can happen to your teeth if you don't brush/floss etc. When I was getting my teeth cleaned, I only saw pictures of the hygienist's family and a little cute picture that said something about smiling, bc your smile is beautiful. I can get on board with that!

This has happened multiple times to my family where RRD presents a quote that shows after insurance out-of-pocket fees for proposed services. Each time I have agreed to proceed based on those quotes and paid for the quote balance before leaving their office. Next thing I know I receive invoices for fees still due after insurance payments that are very significant. I have met with their billing/treatment coordinator and was told that they do not normally contact insurance companies for establishing customer quotes, but use a general database, although they present "insurance pays" amounts in the quotes. As a note, I did sign each quote that states that I will pay balances not paid by the insurance company, but I assumed quotes would be accurate or at least in the general ballpark. In the future RRD staff has agreed to actually coordinate with my insurance company to provide an accurate quote (this is not standard policy, so you have to ask for it), but I will not be going back. I feel ripped off. FYI, my insurance company is a major insurer.
