Dr. Morledge insisted on enforcing his same day policy cancelation fee. I had a work emergency the day of my appointment with Mrs Bondi , his primary care physician assistant and I've never canceled on the same day before. Be that as it may Dr Morledge has on occasion in the past failed to appear for a virtual appointment with me without recourse. I find his arrogance to be a direct result of my not subscribing to his "premium" concierge service that appear to prioritize those who are willing to pay a monthly fee for premium access to his medical service as as a Dr. Those that were previously long term patients of Dr Morledge have to fork out thousands of dollars if they want to stay as primary care patients. The practice has really gone downhill. I've been a patient for two decades, but Dr. Morledge went to concierge so it costs thousands of dollars per year just to schedule an appointment with him. The front desk is rude and short; I had an appointment scheduled to talk with Dr. Biondo, Dr. Morledge's assistant, about my recent bloodwork and other health issues, and it was abruptly canceled. When I told them I had some personal health issues I needed to discuss directly with the doctor, I was told that my labwork showed that "everything was okay." That was it. I've been pre-diabetic for years and have a family history of high cholesterol, so I wanted more specific information due to some new health concerns and was told I couldn't speak with the doctor, even though I had an appointment that they cancelled! I was also out of refills on a medication, something I needed to talk with Dr. Biondo about, and never got a response. One would think "I'm out of this important medication" would get at least a quick response, but I got nothing. I rarely leave negative reviews for anything. Life goes on, is my philosophy. But this is personal health we're talking about. The office has a responsibility to treat people better and be honest with them, especially when they say they are concerned and distressed about how they're feeling. Honestly appalled with how I was treated by the receptionist on the phone. She called my surgeon's office "terrible", complaining that they take too long to send over pre-op forms, when in reality she had neglected to check her email and the forms had been there all along. I was charged for a "telemedicine" office visit when he chose to personally return a (voice) phone call that easily could have been answered by any office staff. "Has my antibiotic prescription been ordered?" Why would I go back to a primary care doctor who pulls something like this? Not a good way to build trust. Just be warned: Dr. Morledge may bill you an office visit for returning a basic phone call that any staff member could have taken. I'll bet you a nickel that he has high patient turnover. read more

My regular Doctor's office. I've been coming here for years for my regular check ups. They are in a large office building. I want to say the closet subway station is the 59th St that serves the green and yellow lines. There's a decent sized waiting area in the reception area. Depending on how busy they are, the waits aren't too bad. The office staff are friendly. They are always polite and accommodating. I switch between Dr Morledge and Dr Lee. Both are great doctors and both are engaged which is great. They have a good network here as well of other doctors. Every referral I've had from them has been great. At one point I switched Heath insurance carriers and they called to make sure nothing else changed payment wise for my check ups. It's going on almost 8 years or so, using them as my regular doctors and I plan on keeping the streak going. read more

He follows the guidelines but adds his many years of experience to the diagnosis. He incorporates my perspective, my self-diagnosis and refutes when necessary. That's the doctor you want- who hears you, takes your inputs and deciphers based on the wealth of medical training & experience to assure you his taking good care of you. I saw Dr. Morledge about 3 years ago for a routine physical after reading exceptional reviews on yelp. My mother's an ER nurse, and I worked in the healthcare field for nearly 7 years after college. THIS IS ONE OF THE WORST PHYSICIANS IN NEW YORK CITY. My total physical was MAYBE 7 minutes. How can you get an accurate idea about the health of a first-time patient in 7 minutes?! Absolutely unbelievable. I then began seeing Dr. Jason Dolinsky on the UES, and couldn't be happier. His initial physical was nearly an hour, and he claims to schedule patients 90 minutes apart. I felt that he got an accurate idea about my health, answered by questions, and was very thorough. Plus, he's very nice and caring. Dr. Morledge made me feel disposable, invaluable, and rushed. Then, about 2 weeks ago, his office began cold calling me asking if I wanted to schedule an appointments. Yes, his office cold called me... twice (even through I asked to be removed from their list). It's obvious Morledge places profit above patients - he's able to cram over 6 physicals in an hour and then directs his staff to cold call patients in an effort to increase business. I went here on the recommendation of a coworker. I just moved to New York from Boston less than a year ago and one of the few things I knew I was going to miss about leaving Boston was my doctor. He was the type of doctor who didn't rush things at all and kept on asking me if there's anything else I wanted to bring up--to the point where I felt like I had to make stuff up! (not that I actually did but it did encourage me to bring things up that I didn't think were a big deal but turned out to be significant) Anyway, back to Dr. Morledge... I had an appointment first thing in the morning. He was about 30 minutes late; okay sure, we're all late to work occasionally, but I discovered that he schedules patients only 15 minutes apart! If you're 30 minutes late and you already have 2 patients waiting on you, that's just inconsiderate. I don't know if most doctors schedule patients only 15 minutes apart but that just seems like not enough time to really care for patients. And that's exactly how I felt when I saw him. He talked very quickly. He asked the questions he had to but did it in a very routine, matter of fact way; he didn't even try to act like he cared. When I told him I had high cholesterol, he told me to go to this website and read up on how I should change my diet. Why couldn't he just tell me himself??? I didn't come to see a doctor for him to just tell me to check out a website instead. He asked me what drugs I took so I told him and he wrote me prescriptions for them without even evaluating whether I still need them or asking me about them. I had some blood work done because of my cholesterol problem. When the doctor's office got my results, the receptionist called me to tell me my results and what I should do. In contrast, my doctor in Boston actually asked me to come into the office to talk about the results in person! I guess if you're the type of person who knows what they want to do with their health care and just needs someone with an MD to write prescriptions for you, Dr. Morledge is fine, but what's the point of going to the doctor if that's all you're looking for? I want a doctor who will help me be as healthy as possible and Dr. Morledge is not that guy (at least based on my experience). read more

I've gone to Dr Morledge's office couple of times for annual physical exams since hes next door to my office.. He would not really impress you with his acumen or would not be patient enough to listen to all of your qsns since hes one of those who rushes through the appointments.. Exam would be over in under 15 mins.. Hes a typical robot doctor who feels about his patients like 'This guy is customer number 34,897'.. He doesnt seem like hes really caring for u.. he goes on as if hes some factory worker doing the next batch of things to do with no emotions or smile on his face.. When I try to ask qsns or be more interactive, he would give a slightly startled look as if he doesnt like his patients asking any qsns followed by answers that are short and vague.. So dont expect a lot of 'care', 'patience' and 'time' from this doc if thats what ur looking for.. On the positive side, there is not much delay in seeing him and he himself called me on the phone and went through the exam report.. read more

If I can rank them negative star, I will do so. They charge you co-pay for flu shot even when you specify that is just for flu shot, not an appointment for office visit. Be careful how much they love making money in not honest way. After my annual check up, my doctor told me to come in around September for flu shot which is covered by my insurance. And I make a flu shot appointment and specify that is flu shot only and they charge co-pay. I asked what is the difference between taking the flu shot in Walgreen which is free and taking it in this office. Their office manager told me that it is given by the doctor. But I literally wait in the line for 10 mins and spend 2 min with the doctor for the flu shot. read more

While Dr Morledge is a good doctor and a nice guy the front desk experience makes this place no longer my choice i terms of a GP. Getting a prescription refill called in is impossible. I have been stuck trying to get a refill called i for 5 days now and this is post me getting a phsyical and blood tests as well as a voice mail from Dr.Morledge himself confirming that my refill was aok. The front desk simply is impossible. I am so over them that barring a re-stuctuiring I will be finding a new GP in the next month after 12 years of dedication. I've seen Morledge and his PA Caroline for 5 years now that I've been in the city and have NO COMPLAINTS. Yes, sometmies you wait, happens. I think Caroline is amazing. She always remembers me (and you can tell when it's genuine) shes taken over 30 min to talk to me when I was freaking out about something. I've never waited for an appt. The office is right in midtown off the Lex line. I think they're great. Highly recommended. With most MDs (esp in NYC) YOU need to run the gauntlet not them. If you have qn's ask them. Say you need more time- then find me an MD who doesnt comply. read more

An overall wonderful doctor and great practice. During my last visit, Dr. Morledge joked that he wasn't even sure if he had any reviews online. I then made it a point to ensure I wrote one for him. He is unbelievably kind; and, could teach a class on bedside manner (maybe he has! :)). I have never felt rushed either by him or the PA I have also seen. Dr. Morledge seems to have too many patients. The waits are long, and then he only gives perfunctory attention. He always seemed fine, but then I eventually switched doctors, and it wasn't until I had a physical from a different doctor that I realized what focus and attention a doctor is supposed to give to a patient. After being convinced by the Waldorf Astoria to allow their house physician to contact me, I did. I've been in health care and manage a very large group of physicians, so I know that this type of behavior should not be typical. Would not use Dr. Morledge if he were the last physician on earth. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR or OFFICE. They have a very aggressive billing culture, meaning that they will do everything and anything to bill you & your insurance company for unnecessary services/prescription, so that you'll end up with a very expensive bill. I've been to several physicians in NYC in the past, this is the first that I feel their office practice is malicious. I went for a travel immunization visit recently, and I had asked specifically for the immunizations I needed. I eventually received the bill, which includes the immunizations themselves (what I had expected), but I was also billed several hundred dollars for what they claimed to be the fee for a "physician visit". I was in the office for 10 min, and when I looked up the staff at the office who gave me the immunizations, that person was not even a doctor but a physician assistant! The worst part was that I had called the office manager ahead of the appointment to ask if there would be any additional charge aside from the immunizations themselves, and I was told no. And in all my subsequent conversations with the billing office, no one would help to look into the issue or acknowledge that they had given me wrong information read more

Sorry, I find it hard to digest a poor review of a physical from three years ago--have an axe to grind, Allan P? Dr. Morledge and his office have been my primary care physicians for over ten years, and I have never once been disappointed in their care, concern or service. Dr. Morledge himself is a no-nonsense professional, and maybe that rubs some thin-skinned people the wrong way. I'm not there to have my hand held or my hair mussed, I'm there to have a health issue diagnosed and fixed immediately--that is all. (And by the way, this is New York City--things move fast here and people get to the point faster. Don't complain if you can't hack it--it's you, not them.) However, if you are the type of person that needs to be coddled a bit more, either Dr. Lee or Dr. North (both female, if that matters at all to you) are extremely personable and beyond professional. I couldn't recommend either of them more highly. This is a fantastic practice that I have recommended over and over and over again. Yes, on some occasions it can move at a bit of a brisk pace, but so does this entire city. And if you're a working professional, why would you want it any other way? This isn't a resort, it's a doctor's office. And a damn fine one at that. read more

This is the best general doctor in NYC. I see Dr. Lee - who is wonderful. She takes time to listen to your concerns or questions. She even emails - which none of my other doctors do! I once had a pretty urgent question for her and she responded to my email right away. It's easy to get an appointment and the front desk staff are fairly friendly for an NYC office. The best part about this office is that they will squeeze you in on short notice - no need to schedule an appointment weeks in advance. If you want to be made to feel like a crazy person for feeling sick you should make an appointment as soon as possible with Dr. Morledge. I have a blood clotting disorder and have had deep vein thrombosis on multiple occassions so have been told to always go straight to the emergency room if symptoms arise. I told him this after he had asked why I went to the ER last weekend. He seemed so irritated by my condition, the findings that they did find (which other doctors have expressed concern about) claimed they were irrelevant findings and did not mean anything. My high white blood cell count was stupid. He blamed everything on my anxiety. I mentioned the fact that I was now wearing hearing aids after a recent hearing exam. When he called that anxiety I knew it was time to say goodbye. Don't ever let anyone make you feel bad for calling your doctor. It took me until my last visit with him to realize this. read more

I just came back from seeing Dr. Sohee Lee. I am travelling to South Africa and needed some shots. While the front office wasn't that friendly, Dr. Lee was incredibly professional, clear and patient. She sat down, spent lots of time with me and explained everything very thoroughly. I don't often write reviews but felt compelled to given my experience. I have been going to this office for probably almost 5 years now. I certainly can't disagree with other reviewers that Dr. Morledge is a little quick/dismissive, but I almost never see him. His PA (physician assistant), Caroline, is the best! She is warm, sweet, and always super helpful. She always takes the time to explain, answer questions, and just be friendly. If you call to make an appointment, specify that you would like to see her, but be aware that new patients are booked with the Dr for their first visit. I first became aware of Dr. Morledge when I knew him to be the "on call" physician for a luxury hotel in Manhattan. No matter what time of day or night, if a guest had a medical issue, he would make house calls or have the guest visit his office immediately. I've used him as my GP for over 10 years. I know he is an expert in travel medicine. When a friend was visiting from LA on her way to Senegal, she did not realize she needed shots and his office was extremely cooperative in offering to fit her in prior to her flight and give her what she needed. Even as a new patient with no insurance (they do take cash and credit cards!) they were very considerate. I can count on Dr. Morledge to be a calm and caring physician. He handles the "bad" news extremely well when it comes down to those conversations you DO NOT want to have. He's been empathetic and compassionate and reassuring and calming when as a patient, I've been upset over illnesses which were life-threatening. He makes sure that all my other doctors send him reports so he can have all the facts at his disposal. I have always had a good professional relationship with him and his staff, including his physician's assistants (yes, Caroline was lovely!). He works in one of the busiest areas of New York City, and I know that I may have to wait upon occasion, however, many times, since my office is nearby, I just walk in and they see me. It happened when I dropped in today and he suggested and I got my flu shot! I have recommended him to others as a general practitioner. I am sick and found out this morning that my doctor has left his practice. I could not get an appointment at the doctor to whom my last doctor's office is referring the patients to. I called up a few doctors that were on a referral list from my trusted and amazing ob/gyn, but none were accepting new patients on such short notice. A good friend of mine always raves about her doctor, so I got Dr. Morledge's name from her. I called at 10:45 am and they gave me a 12:15 appointment. I went to the office prepared to wait a long time after having read these reviews. They called me in after only about 20 minutes. I saw Laura, the physician's assistant. She was very nice and seemed knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable under her care. What is nice about this office is that they also specialize in travel medicine. My last two doctor's didn't know much about it. I was the one who had to look up what I would need (type of malaria pill for proper region, etc) and request it. My last doctor didn't even have the proper international immunization cards available at his office. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 for the simple reason of the fact that I didn't meet Dr. Morledge himself even when I expressed interest in becoming a new patient at this facility and making him my new primary care. But the receptionists were pleasant on the phone and in person, and the physician's assistant made me feel comfortable and addressed all my concerns. So I am going to stay. read more

I need a doctor at my hotel and Louis was the one, he asked me to see him the following next morning. I went to se him and the people there where great. The doctor came to se me, and he was a great guy. He seems to know his stuff and he made me feel secure. He did prescribe me something else than I thought he would, be it ended up working out okay. I've got to say I'm a little perplexed by the criticism of Dr. Morledge as well. First, like others have said it is pretty easy to get an appointment which is pretty unusual. I'm used to having to book them months in advance, and the first time I called up they took me the same day. I thought hell had frozen over. I've been to him twice now and once to his physician's assistant. She was nice and helpful. So was he. In fact I have to say barring any future weirdness I'm a fan and I'm going back. I am not some doctor groupie, NOT AT ALL. In fact I think most of them act like House, except without the brains. Dr. Morledge was in my opinion unusually kind to me and very professional. I spent nearly two decades avoiding an annual physical because of several previous horrifying experiences with doctors. A recent job I just got forced me to go get one. I was pretty annoyed by this but I have to say now, I think it's good they did, because I think I'm going to actually go back annually. This is the first doctor I've ever had since my childhood pediatrician that I want to see again. All I can say in criticism is that he was a bit rushed while conducting the physical, but I think that happens everywhere, they try to pack in as many patients as they can ... but then as another person here said he actually had me come in another day to discuss the test results, again when does that EVER happen? The average waiting time for a regular patient is between 30-60 min. No matter how many times you complain, they will always make you wait for very long time, even they are free. They also push you to see new doctors or nurses instead of Dr Morledge, who is almost never available. read more

The only good thing about the practice is Caroline, the PA - she's great! In fact if its a general complaint I would see her first. However, for anything that really requires some detailed medical inspection, I would go to a specialist or find another internist as I found Dr. Morledge himself to be brash, cursory and dismissive of anything I said. Not only that he made me feel silly for worrying about some pain - which has resulted in fact in months of specialist care. Turns out I was right that something was wrong and he was dismissive!! However its hard nowadays to find a good GP so if you just need to go as a first step, they are ok and Caroline is a fantastic Phys Asst! read more
