Dr. Pratt acknowledged the problems with my results and promised to address them with a revision. However, he retired before he could follow through on those promises. After Dr. Pratt left, I reached out to the remaining surgeons at the practice for help, but they refused to take on my case or provide the revision care I had been promised. The lack of meaningful follow-up and support from the surgery center has been incredibly distressing. After trusting a practice with such a significant procedure, I expected care, accountability, and help when the outcome was unacceptable. Instead, I was left to deal with the consequences on my own. The severe scarring has profoundly affected my confidence and quality of life, and I am devastated by what happened. So when I called Liz to schedule my procedure (after she chit chatted with me about a trip I had just been on) I let her know my worries and concerns and the amount of reassurance that woman gave me was astounding. Not only is the whole team that worked on me so amazing and friendly, but they walked me through every last silly little question the whole way through with zero annoyance or frustration. And boy did I have a LOT. All that to say this is not a completely painless procedure, BUT it is only in the beginning with the numbing. I knew within about a minute of talking with Jaime, the Patient Care Coordinator, that I had found the place to receive laser treatment for scar revision on my lip. I was doing initial research and had called several providers. Either they did not provide the service or I simply did not feel convinced I was comfortable seeking care with them. Jaime was very informative and professional during our initial conversation and has made me feel welcome and comfortable every time I have been to their office since. The same is true with Dr. Potyondy. The treatment I received was a series of fractional Co2 laser treatments and a steroid injection. I went in hoping for an improvement in the overall look of the area where the tissue was damaged and scarred over but was prepared to accept that it was something I would likely see for the rest of my life. Even though this was a minor procedure for Dr. Potyondy, having a scar on my face was a major issue for me. After receiving treatments over a period of just a few months my scar is completely unnoticeable. The skin is completely resurfaced and the shape of my lip (and smile) is back to where it was before. I am a self-proclaimed "gym-rat", a Kinesiology Grad and Physical Therapist. I know how to manipulate diets and fitness to achieve end results, but I had areas that wouldn't change, no matter how much I manipulated my workouts and nutrition. Add to that breast feeding two kids (the last who only did so on one side!) and I was mal-proportioned and lop-sided! I recently underwent breast augmentation and liposuction on my thighs, abdomen and flank. I couldn't be happier! I had no idea how much negative "talk" went on in my head when looking at my trouble spots in the mirror, until after the surgery. I am now proportioned and lean, and look in the mirror now with happiness and acceptance. I feel amazing and would highly recommend Dr. Potyondy as your surgeon. The office is newly updated with a beautiful reception room and lots of current equipment. It was easy to get an appointment scheduled and they were willing to bill my insurance for annual exam. The front office staff was welcoming and I filled out the new paperwork and probably only waited 10 minutes or so before I was taken back to the exam operatory. The operatories are also new with a clean white interior design that give it both a modern look as well as the feel of sterility you want in a physician's office. Dr. Kim was very professional and answered my questions. For the pigmentation she recommended a laser procedure but acknowledged its shortcomings that the pigmentation would likely return due to sun exposure and my genetics. I appreciated her discussing the likelihood of recurrence considering the laser treatment was costly. They have a lot of skin products that were pushed towards the end of the appointment which I wasn't a fan of. Other than that, I felt the office did a good job of reviewing my options and everyone was pleasant and professional.
