First off the staff, nurses, and Dr. Douglas are FANTASTIC! They really supported me through my journey with kindness, compassion, and empathy. For the girl or guy who is scared to get liposuction at this clinic: Yesterday I had liposuction done by doctor Perez at the Tacoma clinic. Waist, hips, and full abdomen. I cannot stress how well I feel this procedure went. Like anyone I looked at the reviews before I booked the surgery and was SPOOKED. The recent reviews are filled with bad experiences. So when I called Liz to schedule my procedure (after she chit chatted with me about a trip I had just been on) I let her know my worries and concerns and the amount of reassurance that woman gave me was astounding. She let me know that most people with good experiences don't leave reviews so I'm here to do just that. Not only is the whole team that worked on me so amazing and friendly, but they walked me through every last silly little question the whole way through with zero annoyance or frustration. And boy did I have a LOT. During the procedure they played the kind of music I wanted to listen to and allowed me to have my face covered with glasses on so I wouldn't have to see what was going on upon request. All that to say this is not a completely painless procedure, BUT it is only in the beginning with the numbing. It was the equivalent of getting numbed up at the dentist just a bit longer and on your stomach haha. Some spots were more uncomfortable than others but all completely bearable. You truly are getting what you pay for when you decide on sono bello. I will update 3 months from now when I'm less swollen and more healed, but as of right now I am beyond happy with the procedure and it gives me confidence that everything will heal wonderfully. read more

I had my 1ST Venus session today and it was amazing! Kelly was the technician that did my treatment and I was so comfortable and it feels so nice I almost fell asleep. Everyone I've come in contact with has been very friendly and professional. I feel like I'm heading to spa, Morgan is awesome, and I love are little chats and then I have my treatment. And people keep asking if I'm losing weight, all from having the Venus treatment to my chin/neck area. I'm already putting away my change for having another area treated. Avoid Laser Lipo at this clinic--it is a complete waste of money and caused permanent damage. What they call "body sculpting" is more like body butchering. Dr. Perez removed too much fat from the wrong area, leaving a visible divot in my thigh that was never there before. The procedure resulted in lumpy, saggy skin with no tightening whatsoever. When I brought this to her attention, Dr. Perez admitted the divot was caused by the surgery. However, instead of taking responsibility, she insisted the only way to fix it would be to take fat from another part of my body to fill in the defect--and then charged me an additional $2,500 to correct her own error. read more

I made an appointment for 10:30. When I arrived, I was give a dozen of pages to fill out that included a list of my medications. I don't memorize the names and the doses. And these questions could have been easily mailed to me before my appointment. My first appointment was with Brooke. Brooke is awesome. She made my initial appointment easy going and comfortable. Then was the post-op appointment where you actually see the doctor. Not only did he criticize me for how big I was or how much fat I have (which is why i was there in the first place) but he laughed at me and made fun of me. He laughed at me because my daughter sent me her proscription of weight lose injectables so I could get bellow the required weigh. I was told that I had to be 276 pounds or less in order to be considered for the procedure. He also made me feel very uncomfortable, because he kept talking about all of the complications that could or may happen. I canceled my procedure that same day when I got home. So in total, the office staff, Brooke, the nurses, are all fantastic to work with. Lots of smiles, very kind. The doctor on the other hand needs to learn better bedside manners. No mention of the EXTREMELY PAINFUL PROCEDURE, performed with minimal pain relief. (I was in tears during the entire procedure) I never expected this, and no one counseling me prepared me for this. Every technician was kind, and explained the procedure, but not one informed me of what was to come. In addition, I'm required to wear a garment that is so tight, I can barely breathe at night. It's recommended I wear it constantly. PLUS, I learned it will take a year before I MIGHT see results. In addition, they charged $17,000.00. Seventeen Thousand Dollars! So... I want to preface this by saying I'm only on my 4th day post op. I gotta say, I did jump into this kind of fast and didn't do much research. This resulted in many panic attacks once I actually had the surgery and saw the negative reviews and results AFTER I already had the surgery. But so far.... so good (knock on the wood). As you can see, I still have a lot of swelling and bruising. My skin has yet to tighten up and I just started the healing process. I am REALLY hoping I don't get a bunch of lumps and bumps like a lot of other customers said they got. I plan on giving myself lymphatic massages starting 2 weeks post op to help prevent that. To start with, my consultation and pre op was lovely. Everyone was so kind and fairly honest. The actually surgery.... weird. I didn't hurt per say, but you're awake and you realize that there are rods being inserted in you. BUT the next two days hurt like hell. And add on top of that the constipation and bloating that comes from the oxy you take. Now on the 4th day, things are settling down and I'm starting to return to normal life. After $22,000 cash upfront for an Ab/ex and lipo I was left with a "skirt" of skin that hangs over my scar, and painfully deformed lady parts.I noticed the extra skin over the scar the first time I removed the gauze over my scar and was told every single time I pointed it out, "...that's fluid...it will go away...you are just swollen...you need to wait six months to heal...it will be fine...it's fluid...you are swollen... vitamin C serum would have fixed that". I assessed fluid retention in patients 8 times a day for six years and I know the difference between fluid and flesh. Yet I believed them. I wore two bindings to cover from under my breasts to over my pubic bone 24/7 for six straight months. That is double work almost double time. I was constantly shut down no matter what I complained about, inquired about and raised concerns about. I kept hoping things would improve. I was told right before surgery that I wouldn't be able to have all the work done because of medical restrictions on lidocaine dosages. I told the RN and surgeon that I have woken up in the middle of every surgery I have had and that at the dentist I need double the dose of lidocaine and double the time to absorb. "You will be fine, EVERYONE says that!" I asked if I should only do part of the procedures. "This will be quick...you will be fine." Well, I had a reaction to something and my body was restless, I couldn't control it. They kept shouting at me to stay still. People were in and out of the surgical suite socializing like it was coffee hour. I was in pain. I moved and the surgeon injected the fat melting liquid mixture at the same time and it felt like I had fire burning a hole through my body. The surgeon shouted at me to stay still and said that might leave a permanent dent, which it did and later said vitamin c serum would have fixed that. Well, there is nothing left under that dent but fascia. Nothing will go under the skin, not fat not fluid. It is a permanent dent above my bellybutton. My reactions of movement and pain continued. The surgeon shouted at me to keep still, asked if I had restless legs and said she wouldn't be able to finish the procedure because by that time I could feel what I thought was her cutting into my lower abdomen. She was stitching and I could feel it! She said she couldn't give me more lidocaine. I think I was crying at that point. She finally said to give me more lidocaine. Then had to have RN's help pull up my skin from the part on either side of your mons and labia and between thighs and right above mons so she could stitch me closed. It felt like someone pulling really hard upwards like putting on a pair of tighter than skin tight jeans. Including the yanking! Several times. The skin is SO tight between my legs at the side of my labia and the sides of my mons that it feels like it will rip! Even when I am walking! It is very painful. This is a year and a half later! My scar is painful! I want to cry every time I see myself in the mirror. I want to cry every time I lay flat or move in a way that stretches the skin and makes it feel like it's going to rip in two. I am constantly reminded about what happened to me and how I look. I am ashamed of my body like I have never been in my life. I was retaining fluid around my bellybutton two inches outward completely circling it. I tried to see the surgeon about this and it took over two months. In the end she said it was an internal issue and to see a GI specialist! She never even felt my abdomen, ever. The last thing she said to me about all of it was, "That's where the vitamin C serum would have helped." She didn't remove the skin she needed to because the lidocaine wasn't effective and I was in pain. She said she didn't have time to so it, she didn't have enough time to remove all the skin and move my bellybutton. My full review is too long to post. Don't go there. Surgical errors, procedure coverups, no proper pre surgical patient education about the sudden restrictive stricter than Keto diet you will go on once you walk out the door. This caused health problems for me including Keto Flu and dropping weight too fast. I was only allowed meat and vegetables and lots of water. I did that and ended up malnourished and too thin too fast- while trying to heal, patient shaming, injury, and I was left looking hideous despite being an overachiever patient. I want to cry every time I see myself in a mirror or get dressed and undressed.It's been a year and a half. I will never be able to wear anything that shows above my pubic bone to an inch and a half below my breast bine. Everything from below my bikini line to my ribs is damaged, painful and hideous. It looks like I had three sets of twins and was sliced in half above my pubic bone. My skin sags and hangs over my scar. This was a living nightmare. First, you have to know that Sono Bello does not care about you, only your money. I had a change of hart (physically, emotionally, financially, and principally) and seriously did not want to go through with my procedure. I plead my case to multiple people and the best they would offer was to credit the large amount of money i paid for use of their non-invasive procedures instead(researching those showed that they have little to no effect). So i went through with the procedure purely because I didn't want to waste my money. Now, I wish I had just taken the loss. The procedure was the worst experience of my life. It was so painful. I spent the whole time crying, squeezing a stress ball as tight as i could, and trying not to curse, since the surgeon had the audacity to threaten to stop the procedure if i continued to curse--this would result in my body looking deformed. So I held back which just caused the pain to be more acute. This is a procedure that a person should really be sedated for. Instead they pump your tummy full of numbing fluid that only partially numbs the areas they work on, hence the pain, then you spend the next 2-3 days having that fluid leak out. Additionally, the procedure room seemed less than sanitary with a ton of cords running across the floor and plugged into a rusty power strip. They also tell you that it's less invasive than the standard liposuction procedure you would get somewhere else. Well, I'd hate to try those, because this was extremely invasive and painful. If you watch video of the standard liposuction procedure, you'll find this is exactly the same. They stick a wand inside and just jam it around. At least the standard one you get to be sedated. Now i'm left traumatized and ashamed. I can only hope that the treated area looks good after everything heals, which the paperwork they give you after the procedure says might take a YEAR--it's so nice of them to tell you this afterward and not before. Sono Bello is just another corporation with no empathy or conscience and only out for your money. The only positive i can convey is the nursing staff were fantastic. If after reading this you still decide to go forward with sono bello, i recommend scheduling your pre-op appointment closer to you procedure date--once you are approved for surgery at the pre-op, you can no longer cancel without forfeiting the money you paid. I am very disappointed with this company. On March 25, 2023 I went to a free consultation. At the end of the consultation the individual asked if I would like to see if I qualified for credit. She explicitly stated it was a soft search and would not affect my credit. At this information I said sure. She then informed me that I qualified for credit. I said I would talk it over with my spouse to consider. Yesterday I was researching some fraudulent activity through the credit bureaus only to discover that I had a new credit account. I chased down the credit account and realized Sono Bello created a credit account in my name WITHOUT my authorization. Let me be really clear, these tactics are misleading, and highly unethical. I saw the exact same complaint of another Sono Bello elsewhere in this country so this seems to be a systemic problem versus a one time error. If this company is willing to deceptively create credit accounts without patient authorization and/or knowledge it truly makes me wonder in what other ways and areas this company is further being deceptive. My experience at the Sono Bello clinic in Tacoma, Washington was fantastic. The ambiance when you first walk-in is very calm, comforting and professional. Located in a gorgeous building, the office itself made me feel at ease the moment I walked in for my appointment. I scheduled an appointment with the Front Desk coordinator, Janelle, who was so perky and friendly! She was efficient with checking me in, providing me with the paperwork and offered me a beverage while I was waiting. She had a great smile too and for being the first face you see when you walk into Sono Bello, it was a pleasant check-in experience and great first impression. A few minutes after, I met with Liz, the sales consultant. Liz is outstanding -- she knew exactly what I wanted based on the needs expressed, asked questions to determine my level of comfort and more importantly, what my goals were. I was concerned about working with a sales professional first before speaking to the actual doctor, but I can confidently say that Liz knows her stuff! She was able to paint the picture, in detail, of the procedure, recovery process and payment options. Examples of before/after were shown to me, as well as all necessary charts and more. My main concern was how quick recovery time was as I work a large amount of hours per week -- she assured me that the recovery was quick and gave me all the information I needed to schedule around the procedure. The medical staff at Sono Bello in Tacoma is also top notch and extremely professional. Dr. Barthel and Nurse Shellie made my pre-op meeting a pleasant experience. I had to reschedule my appointment due to being ill, the day before! I was so disappointed, but the staff understood, and was more concerned about me getting better. After my procedure I was a day early for a checkup and the staff was already off work about to leave, stayed late to check me to make sure everything was going well. The staff there truly care about you and go over and beyond. Dr. Perez is one of the most caring doctors I have ever met. She walks you through everything and during the procedure her and her team are there to help you feel comfortable. A few days after she checked in on me while she was on vacation! I had a virtual consultation on 5/8/2020 with Victoria. Victoria advised of the promotional offer of 40% for the Venus sculpting, I paid a deposit and was scheduled for 6/4. I received a text that due to COVID-19 they were pushing appointments out to July, which I was fine with. Imagine my surprise when they charged my CC on 6/4 even though I wasn't there and their office was closed to patients! I called and spoke to someone in the office and was told it was caught in the local office but not in billing and they would take care of it. I called again 6/8 and left a message, no replies so I called again 6/10 and advised if I did not received a call back I would dispute charges. This is when Victoria came back into the picture stating if they refunded my monies I would also forfeit the promotion. I asked Victoria why and she advised they would no longer consider me a virtual patient! Where does this make any sense. I still wanted to get the procedure in July and pay at the time of my visit. She basically wanted to hold my money hostage and try to convince me this was the best deal. Had an appointment this morning so I headed out to pick up the future patient than started our way to tacoma. On the road 30 min out of my actual appointment time I receive a call that they need to reschedule my appointment window because the consultation ahead of mine is running 30 min late. 1. Tell the doctor to learn to read time. 2 if a future patient is asking a lot of repetitive questions advise them that to further assist them and not put other patients out they need to schedule more time with them at a later date or let them know they can wait. ( not tell me I can come in but wait an additional 30 which means 1.5) 3. When I say email me the names of the staff members that waited 30 min prior to my appointment to decided to cancel my appointment I suggest you do it right away. If you are a part of a doctors team you know what they are able to handle and what they can't. When I know my doctor is 15 min behind I know that means an hour for the rest of the day. You never see the same person twice- nothing like getting naked in from of a different staff member every time you go there. 3. second apt is a total waste of time - all they do is sell you compression garments. The company they use makes you be home and sign for the package but you have no way of knowing when it will arrive - they use some BS company that when it missed delivery on Friday morning, refused to redeliver until Monday. The tag they left on the door, had no phone number to contact, no address to pick up package at. SO messed up! Now I stuck wearing this garment meant for someone 6 ft tall for the rest of the weekend. 4. Last apt, some woman, who could not be bothered to introduce herself, dressed up like she was heading to the nearest nightclub, in high heels, mini skirt and more makeup than I have ever seen, wasted my time - didn't weight in, didn't write down measurements, just tried to sell me garments. 5. Wasted money on the back bra rolls - no change there. Same woman in told me, and I quote, "we don't promise overnight results". SO rude. 6. Those commercials where women said they did this on their lunch hour or went back to work the next day - definitely did not have lipo. I visited Sono Bello in Bellevue not sure of what to expect, just the idea of going in there was intimidating enough. The friendly and welcoming way I was greeted by the staff really help me feel comfortable while waited for my consultation. The staff was amazing! I've never had anything like this done and had never even broken a bone in my body. So I was extremely scared going into this not knowing if it would be painful or not. I went into my appointment today for my 7 week post op for a neck and lower face lift. All I can say is "WOW" I am so pleased, the results are actually better than I had ever expected!! In comparing the before and after pictures I nearly cried with joy! I was a little apprehensive in the beginning about going to Sono Bello, although I wanted to do my due diligence and speak with them first before I ruled them out. Much to my surprise, the staff was friendly, professional, and most importantly they listened to me closely and delivered what I requested. Has some serious work done and it turned out beautifully. Is it perfect? Not even close but, considering how my stomach, waist, and back looked before, it looks stellar. I am very pleased with the results and will be going back. The doctor was an older gentleman who was very stoic and kinda sweet. I immediately liked him. The nurses were all very kind and the lady who saw me for my last check in was a peach. I am sure there are people that don't do their research, have unreasonable expectations, and are naive. The truth is that this is an improvement, not a cure. Yes, it was uncomfortable and yes, there was some pain but three months out, I look amazing and it was worth it. I've always had unwanted fat on my thighs and love handles and had always wondered about liposuction. After thinking about it and my significant other doing some research, we decided to go to sono bello in tacoma for a consultation. Melody was wonderful, welcoming and honest, which we both appreciated. I went there on a Monday morning and walked out with my procedure scheduled for the upcoming Saturday. During my pre-op, Dr Potyondy answered both of our questions in great detail and I left there confident in him and his staff. When I arrived that Saturday morning I was extremely nervous. For me it was just fear of the unknown. I immediately was out at ease by my nurse (I wish I could remember her name because she was amazing!). After having me change, getting my vitals and having the doctor mark me with his purple marker, she gave me my cocktail of pills and needless to say that's all I remember! I have some memory of being in the procedure room but not really any details. I basically slept the remainder of the day. By the very next day, I was wide awake ready to see my new body and shower. I took off on Monday just because I had the time to take but I easily could have gone back to work. I went back on Tuesday. I'm a nurse so I move around a lot and was fine. Pain wasn't an issue at all. I received several calls throughout the weekend from sono bello staff just calling to check on me. I am now approximately 7 weeks out from having my inner thigh, outer thigh, banana roll and hips done and I couldn't be happier. I look and feel so much better and feel much more confident! I did this for me and my happiness. If you've ever considered it, I'd say at least go and have a consultation. At no point, did they ever pressure me to do anything I didn't want to. For many years after having kids (2- 19 and 16 years old) I always joked with my husband about getting liposuction and he always told me "no you need to put in the effort in to try to lose the weight and get your shape back" well having babies and being a working mom there wasn't much time to focus on strictly myself without the guilt so not much happened. Then six years ago I finally got serious about putting in the effort I started running and that turned into training and running marathons along with various other activities, my body wasn't really changing although I went from a size 10-12 down to a size 6-8 and would lose a little bit of weight but always had the "spare tire" around the waist and upper abdomen. During this last summer I was training for my seventh marathon and my husband could see and finally understand my frustration. I told him I was going to at least go in for a consultation for body sculpting. I had researched some places and that's when I choose Sono Bello. In September made the appointment for the consultation that's when I met Liz Downie, she was very helpful in helping me understand what would be best for what I was looking for. I wasn't 100% ready to go all in at that time as I had to do the home work and run all this by my husband you see if he wasn't on board then I wasn't ( I want him to be just as happy as I). Prior to my procedure I met with Dr Nees to go over what areas will be done and get my before pics taken. My appointment was scheduled for Nov 6th 2015 .... I was scheduled to have tumescent Liposuction done on my upper/lower abdomen, waist and inner thighs. I went in ready and not fully knowing what the outcome was going to be, how I'd look, will it hurt, am I am going to be happy, all sorts of thoughts running through my mind. During the procedure and getting home I don't remember too much and that probably was a good thing.... The next day when I could get up and move around boy was I surprised. My shape was completely different... I actually had a shape and it didn't include a spare tire! Tomorrow will be two weeks since my surgery and I can already fit into a size 4 pants and I have had to make a pile of I can't wear anymore clothes because they are too big. When I went back to work my co-workers couldn't believe the change, I actually had a couple ladies ask me what I did because I look good. I had my 1 week follow up appointment and all the staff was just as great. Sade took my after pics and was very informative of all the things that I was and would be experiencing and reassured me if I had any questions I could call anytime. I am so thankful for the art of body sculpting and for Sono Bello to make the choice a confident one. I am very happy with my results at week 2 that I know I will be ecstatic at month 3. I can't wait to start running again! Oh and my hubby is very happy too!!! read more
