Rabice and the whole staff has always been awesome with me. I have been going there since 1985 and never ever had one issue. had much work done and everything was always smooth, done right and n issues. I'm totally disappointed with my care at Dr. Rabice's office at 1450 Genesee St. Utica, NY. I was in several weeks ago as a new customer. There 1st appointment is only exrays. Therefore, I booked a 2nd appointment... which was today, at 7:20 am on August 13, 2025. 1st of all... I called to say I may be a few minutes late. "Well, she paused. "Will you still take me?" The receptionist, tben responded with, "As long as you are not more than 10 minutes late." I arrived 8.5 minutes late. I walked in with 3 women behind the counter, not one looked up to smile or greet me. I stood quietly there at the open reception window. Finally one just looked at me... I responded, "I made it before 10 minute max", and I smiled back at them. One women responded, "Ruth" I'll be right with you. So I sat down, and literally, two seconds later the same women stands in an open doorway. "I'm ready for you." So, I got up and followed her. I sit in the dentist chair. She walks back in behind me saying "You had surgery?" I said, "Yes," thinking, wow they've done their homework. "Did you take your antibiotic yesterday?" Confused? I said, "No, why?" "You had surgery, right?" she exclaimed. Bewildered, I gazed at her with ???? in my eyes. She, responds, "when was your surgery?" I said, "Around, February." She exclaimed, "This year?" "Yes", I replied. (Still bewildered.) "Well, you have to take an antibioticl, I cannot clean your teeth, today," she exclaimed! "Why didn't anyone tell me I had to?" my responce. I can't even tell you how disappointed I am in Rabice's staff. I went out to the front desk and I said, "Why wasn't I told?" She replied, "I'm an adult, I don't have to be told! Why do we have to tell you?" It's your business, isn't it? Doesn't Dr. Rabice want his business to flourish?" I responded. Next, I just decided to walk out of the office. Thinking, I already paid for exrays, so I quickly turned and went back in and asked for my exrays. A new women stood tall, behind the rest of them, hands on her hips, and says, " "You cannot just walk in here and demand exrays!" "Wow!" and turned, ready to exit once again. I spoke loud enough that for them to hear as I walked out the door... you will definitely hear about this appointment on Yelp! I'm sorry, Doctor Rabice, you need better staffing communications for your patients from your unwelcoming front office staff. The front desk is very awesome and courteous but the hygentist has some kind of bizarre prideful attitude. I asked innocently "Aren't you going to give me a bib?" and she snapped back with anger "I'm not planning on splashing you!" and proceeded without the requested bib with the fastest cleaning of my life (5 min after it being 6 years since my last one). She then lectured me rudely for a minute about some tarter she found and then scheduled me out for my next cleaning. Then I broke a crown a couple weeks later and expected my dentist to repair it.. nope! The front desk asks me "did Dr Rabbice make this crown?" no he did not, "then you will have to go back to the dentist who did, he refuses to work over another dentists work." Excuse me? I have been to a LOT of dentists in all the states I have lived and not one has ever refused to work on me or anyone I know regardless of what work had been done previously! I told them that I will not get on a plane and fly back to Las Vegas! They still refused. So I went to Fly Creek Dental and paid out of pocket for a real quality dentist who uses bibs and takes care of her patients. read more

I wasn't impressed with this Dentist. I heard his office staff gossiping up front and I overheard a Dental Assistant/Office Manager bullying a new girl that was training. I could tell there was jealousy from the older woman which is an ok and reasonable feeling to have, but making an effort to hurt the new girl is inappropriate in a work setting. Well, any setting, but especially healthcare. The other girls up front should have stuck up for her, but instead pretended it wasn't happening. A dental office should be patient centered. Gossiping and hurting people shouldn't be a priority, but it was to the older woman/long time office manager. I could tell she had been there many years so she was comfortable swearing and being a bully. The Dentist needs to step in and rethink having her as an employee. She really needs to be supervised if not fired. As far as the Dentist, he seemed dismissive to me. He was old and seemed to manage time well, but I didn't feel he listened well and was more concerned with volume over quality. I go somewhere else now, and my needs are met. read more

I was in need of a dentist and thought I'd try this practice. I stepped in it as this practice is patronizing and will misinform you if you don't know anything about your own health. I've had a knee replacement and didn't need to be pre medicated before having my teeth cleaned. the office manager insisted I needed to be medicated. instead of calling my dr I had to come back the next day which I wouldn't have had to do if they had called my dr. I didn't need to be pre medicated. I called my dr abd had them send a note to that effect so I had to go back the next day when this could have been taken care of same day. office manager was not helpful at all and kept saying " it's got your own good to be medicated" which wasnt the case here. my last appointment I was supposed to talk with the dentist about implants but didn't and I ended up talking with a technician which is wrong as she isn't a dentist. the ball gets dropped and the client has to tolerate this nonsense. I'm looking for another practice that at least knows what they are talking about and are professional . read more

Horrible service by the front desk woman. I scheduled a cancellation appointment to get news later that night my family member was on a ventilator. I called the office when it opened first thing to cancel my appointment. Just to have the girl tell me it was a 50 fee. She said I didn't dance before 24 hours... but I made my appointment within the 24 hours. And it was a family emergency. I will never step foot in that building again. Plus the woman on the phone hung up on me twice and called me names. read more

I never was able to be seen by this office. I made an appointment because half my tooth fell out and the nerve was showing. It was the only dentist I could go to that did sedation dentistry, which I needed. Long story short, knowing that I was in massive pain they cancelled my appointment 2 different times. The third time they called me to cancel I told them not to bother and I would go somewhere else. If you know that someone is in massive pain and cant take it but you keep rescheduling, that to me is very unprofessional, especially when my appointment was still 5 days away and that they couldn't get me in for another 3 weeks. I BEEN DEALING WITH PAIN FOR OVER A MONTH ARE YOU KIDDING ME. read more

It had been quite a while since I'd been to a dentist and I went to Dr. Rabice after seeing a commercial advertising pain-free dentistry with sedation etc. I knew I had problems with periodontal disease, but needed cleaning before dealing with it. The offices are in a converted old house. Overall, it is fine, being relatively modern and clean. But, it did kind of bother me that they didn't plumb the rooms for the examinations. Most dentists have the set-up where you can "rinse and spit" into the bowl on the machine right by the chair, but here I had to actually get up and walk across the room to use a sink that had been put in against the wall. Going back and forth to the sink during the process seemed odd. The woman who worked on me was very nice and professional, and I have no complaints about her. But, near the end of the visit, Dr. Rabice came in. He looked at my x-rays and promptly declared "They'll pull three to four teeth. We can get you set up with our periodontist." He literally spent less than two minutes in the room. Needless to say, this was not good news but I didn't really question it. However, I did not go to the periodontist they wanted to set me up with because my insurance wasn't accepted there. I went to a great periodontist in Syracuse, and what she told me is what prompted this review. She says that there is an excellent chance I won't lose ANY of my teeth, and the worst case scenario is that I might lose ONE. Dr. Rabice's set-up seemed far more concerned with volume, than with rapport or accuracy. And while I have nothing to base it on, I also now wonder why they wanted me to go to that one periodontist so badly as well. edit - I have now completed my periodontal treatment, and did NOT lose a single tooth.
