Came to this Compton location, arrived to a rough crowd and a bit of a wait. They have a sign taped to the window saying they are short staffed and appreciate our customer patience. Most of the crowd left with their food soon after I got in, I was able to order as the kitchen slowed down.. Tried the three piece meal with fries, this included a wing, leg, and thigh with seasoned fries. Despite the rush being gone, the food came out in a manner as if the rush was still there. The fries were soft as though they were microwaved, minimal seasoning which hurt the taste. The chicken was decent, but didn't live up to the desires I had. The wing was overcooked, but the leg and thigh were at perfect temp with crispy skin.. The woman working the register was pretty friendly, although I could tell she was still rushing and stressing to hold the fort down.. I can't believe I haven't been coming here often as of recently. They have really good prices for the amount and taste of their chicken. Some, not all, have a chicken and waffles combo. Boy have I been missing out. Anywhere I go I usually call ahead so my food is already ready for pickup. I don't know if they have called ID or what but every time they pick up they acknowledge me by saying my name, I'm like wow! Lol Their chicken is golden and crispy just like we all like it. Hello Everyone! Here is my "Not So Impressed" Review with this place. I had their "Fries in the Brown Bag" which is delicious when freshly fried. French Fries, from anywhere, is only delicious when freshly fried and served, in my opinion. I also ordered their "Dirty Rice", which in my opinion, NOT SO IMPRESSIVE either. I felt like I was eating "Baby Birdseeds". It had no flavor. I would rather have eaten plain steamed white rice. But, oh well. What's done is done. I did not have their "FAMOUS Fried Chicken. Many Yelp Users swear that it is the BEST. I'll have to see and taste it next time if I ever visit. Service by staff was ok but food I ordered and ate, NOT SO. All in all, I was "NOT IMPRESSED". Honestly, I'm a member of Tim L.'s church (See review) and I've only tried this place once. I'm a lover of chicken (Pollo a la brasa is amazing if you're in Torrance or K-Town), and I can't breakdown the texture and all the nuances of flavor, but this chicken was GOOD! I usually don't like fried chicken because of its overpowering saltiness and breading-to-chicken ratio, but Louisiana Fried Chicken doesn't have those problems. I purchased a 3 piece chicken lunch with french fries and a roll to go. I open the bag I noticed the fries when burnt and the chicken look old or like it had been cook in old grease. I immediately went back to the establishment and expressed my disappointment, I showed her the chicken and fries and asked for refund. I was told there was a no refund policy. I went to this restaurant on a Friday May 29, 2020 in the 12 o'clock hour and ordered the 3 piece chicken strip combo and asked for an additional sauce as the strips are very large and the 2 oz portion cup that they give you is not enough for my tastes. The employee says that they charge .66 cents for an additional sauce which is outrageous for someone spending almost $10. I asked for a refund of which I was informed they do not give. Wow! Mind you I have frequented this place usually once a month for about five years and instead of providing an additional barbecue or ranch sauce, they would rather lose my business. Not very considerate or smart for a business that depends on repeat business. This establishment is part of a dying breed. It is located in a historically African- American community but does not employ any despite 90 % of their customers are black. Sort of reminds me of the plight of beauty supply and nail shops that are not connected to the community and often provide inferior customer service and usually do not invest anything to the communities in which they serve. Needless to say that I will not be returning to this establishment and encourage all people that value respect and good customer service practices, to stay away from these type of businesses. My favorite is the leg b/c it's the most juicy & tasty part. But they are all good. The skin is crispy while the meat is tender AND juicy. I really enjoyed the seasoning. Every bite is full of authentic southern flavor. KFC is really not the same kind of fried chicken to compare, where as Popeye is a more apples to apples comparison.
