ASK AHEAD OF TIME FOR PRICE TRANSPARENCY FOR SURGERIES. I had a difficult surgery in late October, and I just received a bill in MAY for a balance from LOS Anesthesia Services. They charged my insurance $2,527 for anesthesia! That is outrageous! NO anesthesia is worth that amount. It's no wonder insurance premiums are ridiculous. Our healthcare system/charges really need to be investigated. The level of "care" does not justify the astronomical charges. I should have read the reviews before trying to see any MD here. I encountered a traffic delay on the way. I called to let them know I was running late and about 5 minutes away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon arrival and waiting for the receptionist to finish up with someone else, then told my appointment was cancelled because I arrived over 15 minutes late. The next appointment 2 weeks away.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was 19 minutes late because I passed up the place and parked next door to rush in. I had to wait for the receptionist to finish with others[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I got the run around again trying to find out the person I talked with about my delay. (Unknown.)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If I would not have called ahead of time I might understand why my appointment was cancelled. Is the wait for your appointment Never beyond 15 minutes? The office was packed and I am certain the MD was not just "waiting" for me to arrive without seeing patients. Reading some of the other negative ratings because of long wait times and seeing the number of patients in the waiting area, I doubt this practice keeps up with the appointment times made. If any patient waits longer than 15 minutes for their appointment is it expected they will walk out and cancel their appointment? The inner workings of this practice have much to be desired to run a Professional practice. A patient's time is just as valuable as the doctors. A cancelled appointment and 2 weeks to see a MD for an injury is not acceptable. I will not use this practice for my medical needs. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]LOS needs new schedulers. I got a text telling me I had an appointment on Thursday at 2:00. It was a mistake, so I called to clear it up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I called, the scheduler not only told me I was wrong, but the time was 1:00 and I had to be there at 12:30. I was never available at that date or time and originally scheduled the following week when it was convenient for me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Instead of just fixing it, she told me I was wrong, insisted she had not made a mistake, talked over me and accused me of arguing with her.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] WTAF!?! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Trying to make an appointment is frustrating beyond belief![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have been seeing Dr. Rosenzweig in New Iberia for 3-4 years now but, have to call the main number for LOS in Lafayette. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My experience with calling their appointment scheduler is that there's ONE person that answers the phone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a very large practice with many employees so there is absolutely NO reason for anyone to have to wait 13 minutes (my last call on 12/30/24) to speak to a scheduler.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]And, they repeatedly play a pre-recorded message starting with what number you are in queue, which on this call started at number 17.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Afterwards they tell you how well they are at treating orthopedic problems followed by the if you'd like to schedule a call back time press whatever number. At least play music! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They need to realize that anyone calling, whether existing or new patients, that this is the first impression and, it sucks![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I like the care I've received but, after enduring this each and every time I try to make an appointment, it makes question if their expertise is really worth the aggravation. read more

I have seen Dr. Ben Barronie fo epidural shots. I went in 2 weeks later for the eval. Seeing a nurse practitioner. Never got a full plan of what action we are taking next. Reason for plan of action is that the shots didn't work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Went to check out said I was good to go no previous appointment made. I first saw Dr. Penton on September 30, 2024. He did x-rays and told me immediately that I would need a hip replacement, but stated that first he was going to administer a shot to the joint. I got scheduled for that on October 31. After the shot, i had to wait 6 weeks to be seen to see if it did any good. I went back December 14 to inform them that it had not (I have NO cartilage in that hip) and was then informed that he would need to transfer me to Dr. Duval's care as he was the one who did the replacement surgeries. I saw Dr. Duval on January 9, 2025. At that point, I was 4 1/2 months into quite a bit of pain with every doctor I see confirming that I need replacement surgery. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dr. Duval seemed very encouraging and reduced the goals he wanted me to achieve prior to surgery (still difficult, but less than what I had been told previously) and we set an appointment for April 10.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I went back on April 10, I had not been able to meet the goals, mostly due to the deteriorating condition of my hip. As I explained that to him, and informed him of everything I WAS doing, but it had not been enough, he not only denied setting a surgery date, but also changed the goals to be even further away from what he had stated in January. When I left, I requested an appointment date and were told that I could call once I had met the goals. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also left them with paperwork for my short term disability to fill out and send in and paid the fee. I started getting calls/emails from my short term disability that they had not received the paperwork.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called & emailed several times with no return call or email from Dr. Duval's team.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went to the office in mid-May (we live over an hour away) with a new set to have it filled out. I was informed that they would NOT be filling out the paperwork as there was no "plan of care" in place, meaning there was no scheduled appointment and no surgery date- all of which we had requested but had been denied. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They told me that I could schedule an appointment, but had to call their schedulers to do so. I did call the same day, and left a message. I NEVER got a return call to schedule an appointment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I sought out a new doctor at a different clinic and had an appointment on June 2. The new doctor did x-rays, requested past CT scans I had done, and I walked out with not only a pre-op appointment set, but also a surgery date. All this to say that LOS kept me in an extreme amount of pain for 9 months (I was referred to them at the end of August 2024, but could not be seen until the end of September initially) and could not be bothered to care about actually taking care of a patient and doing a surgery that ALL agreed I needed, or even doing the basic paperwork to send to my disability company so that I would not lose benefits. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH LOS. They will keep you hanging on just to collect money and do unnecessary procedures (shot that had NO chance of working) and not actually fix the problem you are having. Go elsewhere, and you will likely get the help you need a LOT faster. read more

My surgery was a year ago and I'm still receiving bills. They aren't even itemized so I don't know what they are for. Even though I had insurance I kept receiving bill after bill and I paid them as they came but after several months of paying I determined the LOS is probably scamming me so I stopped paying, Yes you will be getting surprise bills if you go to LOS. read more

I have been suffering from back pain for over 7 months. The doctor I saw was in and out within minutes. He didn't seem interested in what I had to say. I started physical therapy and my therapist saw instantly that there was a problem with my back. My therapist said when I go back for my follow up to have the doctor watch me stand and walk. I told his nurse (who has a horrible attitude) what the therapist said and the PA came in didn't ask me to stand or walk and definitely had the "I know more than you" attitude. I had my MRI and another PA called with the results. They had no treatment plan. His exact words were "don't live in a bubble but don't go for a run". I will never return to LOS. read more
