I went to Lou's Florist to buy an arrangement for my Daughter in law who was at the hospital having a procedure as their first baby did not have a heartbeat at 12 weeks. I was devastated and crying and the older woman working there SHOCKED me by saying " I can't believe you are allowing them to do that, there are laws you know." Some FTD florists have FTD pricing and then less expensive locals/direct purchase/walk-in pricing, others don't; this florist is the latter. The arrangements all looked great, but the prices seemed a bit high, and after comparing to FTD's website, they matched up. For items that aren't part of the FTD selection, the pricing was a bit more appropriate and just moderately high, which you can probably attribute to this being the beach where tourist pricing is common. In any case, this is not a particularly large florist, at least from what you can see when you walk in. Their cooler only had perhaps ten pre-made arrangements and a bunch of miscellaneous flowers for used in filling orders; and that was all there was room for. If you're looking for something more exotic, my guess is they'd need time to order and put the arrangement together rather than being able to fill it same day. I was looking for something simple and didn't want to spend a lot of money, so I settled on two dozen short stem mixed color (none red) roses bagged (no vase) for $25 + tax. Edit: three days later, my $25 of roses were dead. I live ten minutes away so I had them home, stems cut and in water within fifteen minutes of purchase, yet they still wilted over in three days. Not particularly happy; fresh flowers typically last about a week for me, so these were not fresh. Dropping a star. read more

This is not the Lou's Florist that was in business on St Pete Beach for so many years. This Lou's may have bought the business and the name but they do not have the beautiful plants and fresh flowers that Lou's on St Pete Beach always had. The woman sold me eight iris that never opened and had to be thrown away., I rarely bother to post a review like this but the flowers were for my mother's birthday and we were incredibly disappointed. We had a wonderful experience with Lou's. We arrived in Clearwater on a Thursday for a friend's wedding on Saturday and learned that we needed to get flowers for the aisle and arbor for the wedding. Lou's was recommended by our hotel. Christina, the manager, was unbelievably helpful. She got flowers to match the bridal bouquet and created two beautiful pieces for the arbor. She provided fabric and explained how to set everything up. What an amazing job Lou's Florist did for our Dad's memorial service at Bay Pines National Cemetery. The standing spray of red, white, and blue flowers was so full and they added the patriotic ribbon, American Flags and lots of greenery too. I also ordered a matching basket and they added the personal touches to fit Dad's personality so perfectly. They even put Pop Pop on the ribbon which is what the grandchildren called Dad. I went in person and drove from Tampa to describe what I wanted in a very tearful conversation. They were all so caring and compassionate about our recent loss. They exceeded my expectations. Well, I would give a review of the flowers had this business been able to follow through with any communications or provide an estimate. I called three weeks ago and spoke to Christina about ordering 2 table arrangements for a memorial luncheon. She said it was a good time to plan ahead as our delivery date (Dec 3)was the beginning of their busy season. After answering her questions, she requested the table dimensions. I told her I would get the measurements and call back the next day. I did so, and left the information with a colleague. I also sent them an email with pictures of arrangements I was inspired by for her to be able to make an estimate of cost as well as table dimensions AND a description of the room the memorial would be held. I heard nothing for days. I then wrote an email requesting a response for its receipt. After not hearing anything about my request for an estimate of cost, I called the business. Christina answered and said she would give me an estimate the next day as she was not at her desk. That was 5 days ago. I have heard nothing. Clearly this florist is too busy to take on work. It is concerning that they are that disorganized. I would advise any prospective client to be aware of the inability to complete simple tasks such as putting together an price/invoice for two table arrangements even when given AMPLE notice (1 month). Busy or not, that is a red flag. 2 stars because the girl who took the call for the requested table measurements was very pleasant and professional. read more

I used Lou's Florist for a fancy birthday dinner held at Parkshore Grill in their Wine Cellar. Christina provided four gorgeous arrangements for the long dinner table. She also provided some smaller arrangements and even votive candle holders with flowers. Christina has such a good taste, that when I need something I can give her the colors and theme and trust her to create something tasteful and beautiful.
