Located right next to the new Snoasis in Parkville, Slicen Dyson Smoked Meats is serving up some seriously good Texas BBQ and Baltimore pit beef. We went opening weekend and ordered a pound of brisket and a half pound of pork burnt ends with all the fixings, including candied jalapeños, pickled onions, pickles, and raw onions. We arrived around 12:30, just 30 minutes after opening, and the line was already about a dozen people deep. Unfortunately, the elusive beef dino ribs were already sold out. We were told they only had 10 available that day, so you'll need to get there early if that's what you're after. Thankfully, the line moves quickly since the meats are already smoked and ready to be plated. The brisket and pork burnt ends were both excellent, with tons of flavor and a great smoke. BBQ is never cheap, and our pound and a half of meat plus two craft sodas came to $53, but we left happily satisfied. There's also a nice beach themed outdoor dining area with sand and umbrella covered picnic tables shared with Snoasis next door. Overall, a great addition to Parkville and definitely somewhere we'll be returning to. Hopefully I'll finally get my hands on one of those dino ribs next time.

Maryland is big on pit beef, however, I think finding good bbq can be a little hard to find here. So Slicen Dyson's Texas style bbq is a pleasant addition to the area. Slicen Dyson is a located in a little parking lot that they share with the newly opened Sno Oasis snowball stand. There are a few tables if you choose to eat your food before going home. Since they recently opened the line can be kind of long to wait. I stopped in on a Sunday a little after they opened at noon and it took about 40 - 45 minutes to wait and get my food. Granted once you order, you pretty much get your food immediately and the staff was really nice at moving along the line. So most of your time is spent waiting. But I'd say it was worth the wait. I decided to try the Parkville Platter, which was your pick of 2 meats and 2 sides. I opted for the brisket, burnt ends, sweet potatoes cooked in beef tallow, mac and cheese, and I got an extra side of their birria style collard greens. The brisket was super tender and well seasoned, a little salty, but delicious none the less. The burnt ends were really good too. And I fell in love with the sweet potatoes. Not at all like your traditional sweet and warmly spiced potatoes, but more of a simple roasted sweet potato to let the natural sugars of the potatoes shine through. The mac and cheese was okay and the greens were a nice play on the normal southern style collard greens. Now the bbq sauces are a definite must to round out your plate. It's nice to have a little taste of Texas here in MD with some delicious tasting bbq.
