What caught my eye: "FREE WORKOUT"! I'm on a budget and thought yeah, lets give it a go! Fit Spot offers several classes. Cardio Dance, FitCamp, Yoga, ABSolutely Bootylicious Class, Zumba, Muay Thai, and the occasional hike or fitness outing in nature. Fit Spot also offers something very cool, a smoothie bar! There are 35 different smoothie flavors and they are made with Herbalife products. The first sample is free, after that it's $7. Now what the $7 includes is a Aloe drink shot, a pre-workout tea, and post-workout smoothie. The smoothie is quite filling and is basically a meal replacement, not to mention - YUMMY! For $7 you are getting a healthy treat AND a serious workout! Friday I took the Cardio Dance class that had me sweating pretty good. Monday night I took the beginner Yoga class which was totally awesome! Tonight I did the ABSolutely Bootylicious Class....which believe me was NOT EASY! I love how each class is challenging, is a full hour, and the various instructors are really knowledgeable and patient with all levels of fitness. Hiromi Moore is the organizer of this establishment and very welcoming. What she is offering is simply this: "We are group of people who want to help the community live a healthy active lifestyle through the movement called "Shape Up Sacramento" We Love to help people change their lives by giving them a supportive environment to get healthy!" These classes are actually FREE and what is important to her is living a healthy lifestyle. She doesn't REQUIRE you to buy the smoothies, but $7 is a great deal in my book AND you are supporting a LOCAL business. They are now offering Nutrition Classes with a free health assessment and a Fit Challenge that will start August 28th. What are you waiting for Yelpers?? Lets get MOVING! :D

The new owner has done an incredible job upholding the legacy of KM, and has worked through the growing pains of being the new owner gracefully. We are constantly telling friends to try this studio, and I encourage anyone with kids interested in dance to give it a try! Honestly, the recent 1 star reviews seem to be fake, or from cowardly parents or former staff who don't like the new policies. It's a shame they feel the need to selfishly try to ruin the reputation of a small business-- just because it didn't work for one person, doesn't mean there aren't others there who are thriving.

The students are all such a fun bunch. The dance parents are so helpful and have a great camaraderie. My family loves everything about Manuia so much that we find ourselves there pretty much everyday of the week! Manuia offers dances from the islands of Samoa, Tonga, Tahiti, Hawaii, and New Zealand. My daughter loves them all and can't pick a favorite! With the help of her teachers, she recently choreographed her very own Ori Tahitian routine! Manuia recitals happen every Spring and Fall. I can't express enough what a great show Manuia puts on! Opportunities for both private (think birthday parties and luaus) and public shows (such as with the NBA and MLB) are in abundance throughout the year. Opportunities to compete are scattered throughout the year as well. All are voluntary, but we find ourselves signing up most of the time! We honestly love Manuia that much! The pricing is like no other. As of the date of this review, one flat fee per month and you have access to every single class! There are additional costs to participating in recitals, shows, and competitions. Most additional costs come from costumes and registration fees, but again are all voluntary. Every experience and show have been memorable. The most memorable experience for us? When my daughter won first place in her category at Manahere! That one is pretty hard to top. Runner ups are when she performed at an NBA halftime show and all of the shows that my daughter, husband, and I performed in. Oh yes, my husband and I are students as well! When time permits, I participate in their Mehura class. I love, love, love dancing with the ladies! Although requiring lots of control and grace, the movements are slower compared to the Ori Tahitian dancing. I am not much of a dancer, but I enjoy it so much still. At the very least, it's an amazing workout. My husband and I attend a Tahitian drumming class weekly. It has been a lot of fun! I can honestly go on and on about Manuia. They are about $15 per class, but we also purchased a 10 class pack which makes them only $10 a class which is really well worth it. It was just such a fun time. They even brought in drums and we got to dance with people playing the drums. That was such a fun experience and it felt like a dance party which I loved. Parking is really easy, it's right up front and there's tons of parking. The location is very easy to see as well. The instruction was pretty great and everyone was super friendly. I do wish the instructor slowed down a little bit more and was more vocal about where you're shifting your weights and that sort of thing with the body mechanics but she was so so fun, and everybody was so welcoming and friendly. The dance was quite the workout, be ready to sweat! The instructors are very passionate about what they're doing and that really shows. All in all really great experience and I bought the 10 class pack so I will be back!

She doesn't really break down the moves for you, you just need to jump in and try. But expect high energy, professional level choreography, and hip-shakin' music. I love the diversity of students, including a range of ages and body types. There is no shame in this room! And the class is only $5!!! i don't live in Sacramento, but whenever I visit Sacramento, I make sure to attend a class. LOVE V!!
