Leaving a one star review based of the absolute terrible customer service I've received from this place and I didn't even get the chance to attend yet. Now I'm upset that I spent $20 on a class I have 0 interest going to because instead of answering basic questions this business just chooses to leave people on read and ignore them. I've never interacted with an establishment that basically FORCES you to text them for any questions and when you have questions they just leave you on read. I will definitely be taking my interest in pole to Rise fitness and I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU ALL DO THE SAME! They clearly don't take their business seriously. I've been coming to VFS for 2 years and completed 100+ classes now, and I've brought many of my closest friends to the studio to introduce them to pole as well. I started at VFS commuting from Davis, and even then it was worth it to me to dance in an environment that embodied values I align with. I mostly take Lory's classes, and have taken many with Tiff and Kelly as well. Brooke recently started teaching at this studio as well and her classes are amazing. There's really a class style for everybody and I love the beginner friendly progression this studio takes. I completed the series of 8 foundations classes twice to feel comfortable trying level 1 (was still way over my head, but I didn't give up). I went with my friends for their first time to a pole class and I wish I would have known that a "foundation" class is different than a beginner class (in my opinion). My friends didn't really get to know the pure basics of pole in the foundation class. So I wish we knew that beforehand, but that's not the studios fault, just a tip for first timers. Lol. BEWARE! These folks flip-flop on their refund policy. On their website FAQs it clearly states only that no refunds are provided after 48 hours. I cancelled more than 48 hours in advance due to a serious injury and they are refusing to refund me, claiming that their receipt says there are no cancellations. Well, it doesn't matter what is said in the receipt because that does not constitute "notice." I'm a consumer-protection lawyer and I'm frankly appalled. I finally just filed a dispute with my credit card. These people have zero compassion. read more

It's been over a decade this now stay-at-home-wifey still uses pole as an alternative to gym life vibes. It all started here. I remember a pole instructor saying that 80% of the foundation is with level 1 then you build. To keep it simple for myself and to focus more on getting a work out vs transitions/ floor work I enjoy level 1 classes. My girlfriend and I will always explore new/different level 1s locally but this studio remains extra special to me... the management is truly a family. it's a decent studio but not my favorite. the one pro is that the owner is a former stripper and a lot of the instructors are too. the cons are 1. you have to share a pole which is super lame. they're the only studio in the area that does this btw. if i'm paying for an hour then i expect to use my full hour and not have to take turns with a partner and 2. i agree with everybody who said that it's a very clique-y environment. a lot of the people that go here are regulars who all know eachother and are buddy buddy with the instructors or other students. they'll talk over the instructors all throughout class which is rude. i had one student make a rude comment towards me because she thought i "stole her pole." i had literally just got to class and i didn't know it was taken lmao. kelly and jen are both good instructors but i did a class with the owner one time and didn't feel that welcome there. read more

The full class schedule is on their website, they have classes every day of the week. I started a "30 days for $30" membership which is available to new students through they're website, and an incredible bargain. Drop in classes are $15, you can sign up for monthly memberships for $50 or $75 (i think) and there's a deal on Groupon. The studio is a little small, there was only one day when I didn't have to share a pole, but it was ok with me. I welcome the break of watching someone else attempt the crazy acrobatics of hanging off a pole using only their thigh skin. The teachers were all super cool, one other review stated that it felt a bit clickish, which I think might be a little bit true- there's obviously a core group of students who come to the studio regularly, and all knew each other and the instructors, so after a month of coming regularly, and a couple months of coming less regularly, I still had to keep reintroducing myself. But that's good right? It's clearly a community, which is a little hard to break into, but it's not like you're not allowed to come to classes if your pole instructor doesn't remember your name (or ever having seen your face before). I liked the classes, it always seemed like there was a good mix of skill levels, and I felt like I progressed pretty quickly, despite how rarely I could make it. I loved pole, it made me feel really good in my body, I felt strong. Exhausted and bruised, but strong. Pole is a great workout, and this is a really safe, happy place to do it. I haven't been in a long while, but every time I smell rubbing alcohol I feel the urge to strip down to my underwear and try to cling to a metal pole using only my belly rolls. read more

I've been going for almost a year now, and I love it even more than when I started! I've had to take short breaks because of work now and then, but when I come back I always feel like I'm being welcomed back by a family of wonderful people who missed me. Whether I'm playing on static or spin pole, lyra or learning polesque and chair dance techniques, I always have fun in class. The music styles vary with each teacher, and that's always fun to keep things interesting and new every class! I appreciate that the teachers are positive and help students of all levels advance at their own pace, pushing you to be YOUR best. This place is decent. To begin, you line up outside the door because class starts at the exact time you schedule it. Check in and out your things in the cubbyhole provided. The atmosphere is nice, but it is loud from chatter and a little "clique like" since the girls here go all the time and talk to one another over the music. The instructors are decent, and you should definitely have to try them all to find the one that works for you. I enjoy Sandy the most. I believe there's about 10 poles and they overbook the classes so that means you'll share a pole sometimes, which is inconvenient. I understand there's money to be made, but it cuts your hour into 30-40 minutes by switching back and forth with a partner. Class ends on the dot so there's no free time to try anything at the end, the next class comes in while we're still cleaning up. It'd be nice if they had a 10-15 minute window after class to review. Oh well.. Overall, the experience is what you make it. read more

I started my pole journey March 22, 2016. I had always wanted to try it, and there it was, a Groupon for $31 for 5 classes. I signed up and went. I took all of those classes in less than 2 weeks. So I signed up for their studio deal of $30 for 30 days. I took 13 classes in 3 weeks. Now I'm a member! My shoulders, back, and arms have definition finally! I can almost do a pull up, but the best part is that I can lift my body weight which in my opinion is harder! The instructors are diverse and amazing. I've been to almost every one of them and there's athletic, sexy, yoga, dance, and the best part is I enjoy every class even if it's not my particular style. There's beginner classes, intermediate, advanced, inverts/climbing, and even classes specific to flexibility. My new favorite class is aerial hoop. You aren't forced to wear heels or dance in a sports bra, or do anything that makes you uncomfortable. Every instructor and every class is what you make of it. When I first started coming here I was super nervous. I never worked out, not even going on walks or something, and I spent all of my time at school and work so I had forgotten how to interact with people in other settings. ~3+ months later and I feel like a completely different person: I'm more confident in myself and my body, steadily building strength and flexibility, and enjoying being around people a whole lot more. I can now successfully put my legs behind my head, and I'm getting closer to my splits everyday! (Go to flexy!) It took a little while but I feel like I've found a home away from home, and like I have a community now. The instructors are incredibly helpful, with their own teaching styles and knowledge to offer, so I feel like I have something different to learn from all of them. The studio owners are super body positive and accepting, and everyone supports each other. Sometimes the beginner classes can get kind of full, but I still feel like I learn a lot from them. From my experience, the morning intro classes during the work week are the least full. They also offer conditioning and cardio classes for folks looking for more of a workout. Some folks only come in for that (the workout) which is fine, but I highly recommend y'all make an effort to talk to the people near you. I'm always terrified of places like that being clique-y (esp., since regular students seem to all, know each other) but after I came out of my shell I was accepted with open arms. read more

On top of that, they all have a different style of teaching so you have options on what may best suit your learning style. There's a wide variety of classes, so if climbing up a pole feels too intimidating to start with, you can opt for classes like chair-lesque or erotic exotic academy. I tried a few beginning classes here a couple months ago, overall my experience was 50/50. I was slightly put off by how strict it was that you HAVE to be in the intro classes before advancing to level 1. To a certain extent, I do understand there's a big safety component to this rationale, however, it is a little off-putting to new students who already have experience in pole. After my first couple classes, I got a sense of community there, which was awesome. Although, by the end of the second class I felt it to be more cliquey than communal. Other students who I can tell were regulars were constantly interrupting and distracting the instructor, which I felt took away from the experience. I think I bought a pack of 6 classes, I ultimately only used maybe 3 or 4 of them because I didn't enjoy the environment. With that said, I did learn some new spins and different techniques that I hadn't before (I started pole fitness about 5 years ago), which was awesome. I also appreciated the fact that some of the other attendees and instructors were open about previously working as exotic dancers/strippers. I always appreciate a safe space for sex-positivity and destigmatizing sex work. (I've been to a couple different pole studios in the past that would talk down on or be ashamed that stripping is associated with pole dancing.) I also got a great workout those few classes I did attend and left feeling super sexy. I would consider maybe attending another class or two if they have a special discounted rate going on. read more

A group of friends and I recently went here for a bachelorette party and we all had a blast. I think we were all a little nervous in the beginning, being as though we all had never experienced something like this. The studio was clean and decorated nicely, and it just looked like a lot of fun! We had a private party with Stacy and she was great. She was very nice and had no problem showing us moves over and over and over again until we finally (somewhat) got it. What a work out! My arms are still sore from the class. We all had a lot of fun, we all couldn't stop laughing-- this is definitely something I would recommend for a girls night out or a bachelorette party like we did. read more

I've taken a dozen classes at Vertical Fitness Studio and so far I'm hooked! I have attended classes with Tiffany, Kelly, Jennifer, and Stephanie. Each instructor has a different style and I really enjoy all of the them. One of my favorite things about VFS is that the instructors pay attention to your level. If a move is too difficult they will modify it; and the same is to be said if you're ready for a challenge. The atmosphere at VSF is very diverse and inviting. There's a wide rage of ages, body types and fitness levels; and the pole styles range from athletic to sexy. I love that signing up for classes is super user friendly via the MINDBODY app. I recommend that newcomers try the 30 for $30 or signing up for at least one month. There's so much to learn and I think to get a genuine experience you need to attend more than one class. To top it off, sometimes they have specials on shoes! read more

I went to two different classes here, one with Kelly was nice (she's very patient) but the other class i took with Jennifer made me never want to come back. I was yelled at for not being able to pirouette properly and she's very abrasive.. you have to share a pole with another woman which just makes cuts into the time at the class so there's not much time i was actually on the pole learning. highly recommend epic pole fitness tho! I bought a package of classes online. I was really excited to get back into pole dancing! All the reviews I read seemed very positive. I was excited! I wanted to talk with the owners about how their journey was becoming studio owners. My first time attending classes only one girl was friendly to me, it was over packed, we shared poles and everyone else treated me like I was an outsider. I was able to try a new move or 2 with some help but mostly was disregarded as unimportant. The next time I returned I was yelled at from inside the studio the second I opened the front door by one of the owners that I was late and I had to wait in the front, I couldn't enter the studio until she was done with stretches and warm up which took about 10 minutes, so I do my own stretching in the lobby by myself. I was 2 minutes late after driving 40 minutes to get there. It was very off putting, a horrible impression was left on me. Who yells at a perspective fitness member? I wouldn't recommend this studio unless you want to be treated like a second class individual and get the fake friendly attitude the owner displays until you rub her the wrong way. I highly recommend this studio for anyone looking for a group fitness setting that isn't boring and inspires you to be the amazing sexy woman you are. I have worked with 3 different instructors because I wanted to try as many as I could. Each instructor has a different style, personality and extremely welcoming. Martina was the first one that helped me see how warm and friendly everyone was. I remember my second class she came up to me and welcomed me back. I can't even believe she remember me. It really made me feel valued as a person. Tiffany was my second instructor. We had a partner activity and I was with out a partner. So she partnered with me and helped me really stretch out. I loved how she 'gently' pushed me to be better. Jennifer was my third instructor and I have worked with her the most. At this point she is my favorite. She can absolutely read people and knows just what to say. I love how she teaches class and I love the little bit of sass she has. Sundays at 4:30 will always be my favorite. read more

WARNING: Pole dancing is completely addictive! If you haven't done a pole class before, you have to try it - because you are missing out big time. First of all, it's super fun. Secondly, it's an incredible workout for your entire body. Plus, instructors Valerie and Leia at Vertical Fitness Studio are patient and know how to make you feel comfortable doing even the most uncomfortable of poses. I haven't tried all the classes yet, but here's what I did try: 1) Lap dance class where you learn a little routine and then there was this optional handstand move that you need to see to believe. It looked hard, but once you learn the trick, it's not bad (also looks very hot and as if you've been doing this for years and not just an hour). 2) Vertical Virgins which is the beginner class. We learned a couple of spins and some transition moves and then worked them into a routine. There are also some muscle building and abs moves at the beginning of the class to help you develop your muscles. 3) Vertical Velvets which is a little more advanced and you may not want to go to this one right away until you've gotten a little comfortable with the pole. Most of the moves in this class are climbing and hanging upside down moves. These are fun and I love them, but you will feel it in your arms and back the next day. It also takes strong abs to invert your body. But this class is definitely something to work towards - and it won't take long until you're ready to get there. They also do have a Strictly Stilettos class that I have not attempted yet, and they have shoes there for you to borrow in case you aren't sure if you'll like it. They are currently having a 30 days for $30 special so I had to take advantage of that. No guys allowed and you can wear normal workout clothes. read more

I LOVE this studio, they have things I didn't even know I needed in a pole studio-particularly the knee pads and crash pads. The instruction here is also GREAT, it is very personalized and they are excellent with troubleshooting and fixing your form on moves. So if you are looking to be the best dancer you can be-and not just get a workout or learn a trick, this studio is perfect for that. I went here months ago for an aerial hoop class and was hesitant to try pole here because of the pricing but it looks like they've dropped their prices. Although now that I've been to pole here I would have probably paid that price because of how good it is! Sometimes you will share poles, which is typical of any studio, which I don't mind because it makes the class more fun and social! Also gives you a break-which is much needed. read more

This studio was so much fun! My sister and I live about 2 and a half hours from Roseville and were in town for a bachelorette party. (Ironically, the girls didn't want to do a pole fitness class for the bach party, so my sis and I decided we'd go without them!) We decided the night before that we wanted to do a private lesson if at all possible since we were driving so far. I texted the # on the website and Valerie responded very quickly and said she could fit us in between classes and other lessons. We were so grateful, and we had an ABSOLUTE blast! She was very friendly, kind, and made us both feel comfortable. She was teaching us intermediate moves already before our class was over and we didn't want it to end. We wish we lived closer so that we could come here regularly! If you've been nervous to take a class, just do it! (Or try a private lesson first.) This place is a place of not just fitness for me but a place for me to go to when I want to get away from my fast pace life! I feel that Vertical Fitness has an amazing group of students and has an established such a great place of community. My journey started three years ago. My first day, I remember saying to myself this is soooooo hard. In the last few years have nothing but respect for the pole. I have done so many fitness regiments (soccer, dance, cross fit, kickboxing) and this has been my hardest challenge so far. I have not progressed as quickly as I have in other areas of fitness and that is why I have not given up to be even better pole dancer! As for the instructors...The instructors are so amazing and really care about you! Special call out to Jenn. She makes my Saturday's filled with laughter. She has one of the most caring personalities I have come across in the fitness industry when it comes to teaching. I've been going to Vertical Fitness since September, and have taken (beginner) classes with several of their instructors. Each instructor will have a different lesson plan, but knows how to adapt if you're new or need extra guidance (this comes from some one who has zero dance background and never visited a gym in her life!). There's definite improvement in my form and overall strength, and I do recognize how supportive the instructors are of all their students and their pole goals. Love it! Very fun! Great, easy to follow instructions and music for beginners. Plus everyone there is very friendly. I've always wanted to try pole dancing and this is a fun way to learn + fitness training. I didn't really break a sweat my first time (I was expecting more of a cardio fusion) but it's definitely geared twds muscle toning and the next day my upper body was rewardingly sore! Definitely a great work out plus it's hot to boot. -1 star because the session was overbooked (the group classes anyway), I had to share a pole with another girl (who was very friendly) but it cuts the workout time in half this way. It was also a morning class so I can't imagine how crowded an evening class would be.
