I am extremely unhappy with Kaleb's grooming. He is a Bichon Frise, and this is by far the worst cut he has ever had. He came back looking like a poodle instead of a Bichon, and the grooming was completely wrong for the breed. Because of how bad the cut was, I would like a full refund. The result was so far off that it makes me question whether your staff even knows how to properly groom different breeds. I would appreciate a prompt response. read more

Good grooming. Clean place. But watch out for up charges. My Yorkie is a little nervous about his feet. In 6 years never had a grooming issue until now. After the first 3 visits he started charging extra for hard to groom. He should just up his prices and not insult his clients. They're good and you'll pay less if your dog is very unbothered by having their feet done. Had dogs all my life and never had one that liked it. read more

Looked at reviews and decided I'd give it a shot. Needed a groomer on Staten Island for my small breed pet (dog). I call the number to book appointment and owner responds with a text message wanting to know the breed, weight , what I wanted and the up to date vaccinations certifications. So I text him back all that he requested but I do not hear from him for the next two days. But this is after I texted him back several times. Forget about calling his personal phone Or especially the store phone. He won't pick up. So I decide to visit the place to get an explanation. The place is closed when I get there even though it's within store hours listed. I return the next day and find it open . I speak with the owner Ning Chen to ask why he hasn't returned my text or calls. He states "you are not a good fit for us" . I'm perplexed and ticked off at the same time. Apparently Mr. Chen doesn't like to be told what the customer wants. Only he gets to decide what your pet should look like after grooming. I was respectful when I text him back on how I wanted my pet groomed. And why shouldn't I tell him what I wanted? After all I am the paying customer . For the first grooming I wanted him to bring her out to me to see if I wanted some additional tweaks here and there and once I'm satisfied that look would be the standard moving forward for subsequent appointments I had told him. I also stated I intend on being a loyal customer. Well Mr Chen didn't like to be told what to do and decided I wasn't a "good fit" for him. I don't know how he is in business with this arrogant and rude attitude. I have to believe some of these reviews here are fake. He should not be in the pet grooming business. Customer service business. I told him I'll take my business elsewhere and to delete the personal information on my pet he required me to text him. That pissed me off frankly . The fact that I sent the information then he decided he didn't want me as a customer. I hate to think what this guy does in the back with these animals when the owners aren't there to see. Can only imagine how he handles pets that need a little attention. Not that my little girl does. This guy comes off like he doesn't have the patience for this field of work. He's in the wrong business. In fact he should not be in any type of business. Maybe some folks that are his regular customers allow him to treat them like shit and they accept it, but I for one will not stand for it. This guy is a jerk. I went to Woof and Tails Lodge on Arthur Kill Rd and they are fantastic. The groomer is accommodating and polite and at the same time I found a day care and boarding facility that I needed as well. The place is huge with plenty of space for the little ones and big ones to play. And they don't mix the two either. Separate groups according to size which is really what you want so your little guy or gal doesn't feel intimidated by the big ones. Like the big box stores do. Petsmart and Petco. They are professional here. Not some kid out of high school with a two week training. So if you like being disrespected and told how your loved one should be groomed, then go here. Otherwise f this place. Go elsewhere. I have No affiliation with Woof and Tails lodge. This is an honest opinion. This jerk Mr Chen can try and bs with a response that he doesn't know who I am and never met me all he wants. I had a great dog groomer unfortunately she retired. Have had my dog groomed in a few different places afterwards, they were just ok, but I never felt the trust in leaving my dog but she had to be groomed. Then I came across Love Paws and had a comforting feel the minute I walked in there. First of all the place is very clean and friendly. Ning listened to what I wanted. The dog was ready in a reasonable amount of time. When I went to pick my dog up she was very relaxed and of course happy to see us. Her coat was silky smooth and she looked great. Ning at Love Paws is absolutely wonderful. We were very anxious about bringing our 4 month old shih tzu puppy for grooming after having had a horrible experience in the past with a former groomer. After researching groomers for many weeks I found Love Paws and called and spoke to Ning. I pretty much knew immediately that I found the groomer we would bring our puppy to. Today was the first grooming and we could not be happier. From the moment I walked in the door Ning immediately made not only me but our puppy feel safe and welcome. In a matter of moments he was already playing with our puppy who instantly responded. Ning is friendly and very knowledgeable and his grooming salon was very neat and orderly. He told me that he would do his very best but wanted to make sure I knew that it is sometimes very difficult with a new puppy who is being groomed for the first time. He listened to what I wanted and that is exactly what he did. Ning sent me video of our puppy during and after grooming. When I arrived to pick him up he was extremely happy and looked amazing! I have been to over a dozen groomers in the past 12 years since I first got my havanese. Love Paws is by far the absolute best! Every groomer I have been to has shaven her down to practically the skin since she gets matted sometimes. I told the groomer this and he said he will do his best to keep her as long as possible, he kept his promise and she looked beautiful! Not only did he give her a great groom, but he also noticed an infection on her paw that her Vet missed just the day before. She actually had a bad infection in both her front paws and wound up in the animal hospital for almost a week. I would have never known if it weren't for the care and consideration the groomer had for both my dog and myself. I will never go anywhere else. Highly recommend! read more
