We popped into Love Saves the Day during our day trip to New Hope. When we first walked in, we were greeted by their vintage fortune teller which we all enthusiastically participated in for the fair price of 25 cents each. PROS: This is the best pop culture store in town! This place has memorabilia from movies, shows, comic books, and video games. It seems like people can rent a booth in this store and sell things. I went into Love Saves The Day in New Hope with my family because it came up as a thrift store. It is not a thrift store. It was shop with full nude photos of men displayed not far from the entrance. I saw them within minutes of walking in. There were no warnings and no signs indicating that this was adult content. Very misleading and definitely not family friendly. read more

Just down the street from Wedgwood Inn, Love Saves The Day in New Hope, Bucks County, Pennsylvania has everything Madonna would need to play her iconic role in the movie "Desperately Seeking Susan". What an interesting "Antique" shop. This shop has tons of cultural pop items such as a giant oversized jabba the hut coffee mug to 1970's and 1980's playboys on the front counter. Something for everybody I guess. I am deducting one star for not knowing the price on many of the items, hell I was thinking of possibly buying that jabba the hut coffee mug but no one came over to ask me if I needed help. I always stop in this store when I am at New Hope and they have an authentic 1920 fortune telling machine with a wizard just like in the movie BIG that still works. Very eerie yet spot on I have included a picture of the fortune that spit out for just a quarter. I was hesistant to go to a restaurant by myself down the street and wasn't enthusiatsic about dining alone but just wow spot on fortune, it gave me the courage to be a lone wolf for the afternoon and try the french restaurant down the street. read more

Store is presented well with creative use of the space. Lots of room for discovery of clothes, accessories, thingamabobs, and treasures. The people at the register were trendy looking and having a weird and inappropriate conversation while about 10 patrons browsed the store which added to an interesting experience. Lots of little gags and toys at a low price point. Makes the store feel affordable and adds charm. A lot of homemade "rules" posted ("you're on camera;" "ask someone to try on the clothes" "break if you buy") which I understand because this is a beautifully laid out store with delicate items but it felt a little stern after seeing the fifth sign. Then again maybe they've had issues that warrants posting those things. Regardless, a cool vintage shop in the area. While I've been in twice now, I haven't been able to find anything worth purchasing but I still enjoy my experience inside. read more

Upon entering I was totally taken back and somewhat mesmerized by all the amazing collectibles and and one of a kind items this store has to offer. It's more for adults then young children, you will see some pictures of nudity. Every single inch of space is cleverly utilized. They sell vintage clothing, hats, one of a kind toys, games,collectible memorabilia, you name it. It really took me back to my childhood. ( I wish I would've kept some of my original stuff.) Everywhere I turned there was something unique to see feel or touch except for certain collectibles which are rare and kept behind glass. From one of a kind Kiss dolls, and Elvis Velvet paintings to collectible statues you can definitely find something fun. They have original Playboy magazines from the 50's, 60's and 70's. They even have a Chatty Cathy doll in their front window, and squirrel underwear( don't ask) along with tons of gag gifts and more you can purchase. Love Saves The Day definitely will bring back so many feel good childhood memories. They even sell nostalgic candy. My friend was looking for marvel comic books as a gift and we found some. My friend also found a really nice vintage leather coat on sale and because it was a few days before Christmas there was extra off. It fit him like a glove and it was very reasonable. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. They knew their merchandise well, and the history about each item. It is definitely worth coming in and taking a look around, you'd be surprised what you can find for that special person. read more

I have visited this shop every time I have been in New Hope. It's certainly an interesting place. The best way to describe it is that it is more of an experience than it is a traditional store. There are countless nooks and crannies packed to the brim with vintage items, oddities, and nostalgia. Prices range from low to high. For example, everything from fireworks to vinyl to fur coats to toys are represented. It has a museum feel to it. It's definitely a cool experience seeing their oddities and vintage goods. Been visiting love saves the day since I was 4 years old in east village nyc. After it's closing...I got older and couldn't find the other location I had heard about through the years which was new hop pa location. Which is incredible a must see...I found it by accident and am thrilled to still have this store in my life...that I have introduced all family and friends too as well. Recently made it to New hope to specifically come here. Shop is very cool, packed to the gills with all kinds of vintage and antique clothes, toys, ephemera, records, etc...However, like most vintage stores, they suffer from a lack of mens wear. Selection of women's vintage was AMAZING, but the mens area was very small, and almost exclusively 50s-90s items. Although like I said, this is par for the course for most vintage clothing shops, as a serious collector of mens wear (20s-40s), I wish more places were up-front about this. This place looked like it might have cool stuff, but I walked in today and immediately heard an employee say something so GROSSLY RACIST that I turned around and walked out. I am on vacation in New Hope and ducked in here. Almost immediately I heard a female employee who identified herself as Stacia (pronounced stay-sha) talking to several other young women. One of them was saying she was from detroit, and Stacia said "Well, I can relate, because I went to a totally ghetto school in Philadelphia where like only 11% of the students were white." I don't know what the context was, but I suspect even Stacia doesn't comprehend what a racist thing this is to say. To clarify Stacia, should you be reading this, what you actually just said is "Black people are ghetto"; because you equated going to mostly non-white school with being ghetto. As soon as I heard this I was so aghast I turned around and walked straight out, and I will never go back. Shame on Stacia and shame on this establishment. read more

Such a cool store! I make sure that I stop in whenever I visit New Hope which is never often enough. They have an eclectic collection of vintage clothing, accessories, shoes and novelties. Need a Beatles cookie jar? Look no further. Fake poop or genitalia shaped chewing gum? It's all right here. Granted, their prices are not cheap but what you'll find here probably isn't available anywhere else. I have read reviews claiming that the staff is moody and less than helpful. Again, in my 15 or so years of going there, that's not been my experience. They've always been polite and helpful. Unfortunately, I haven't found much to actually buy there but I do love to browse. I did, however, find an awesome Scooby Doo lamp for my nephew and couple of cool shirts. A must see shop that should be high on your list whenever you're in New Hope. read more

Such a big store, packed with a lot of nothing. I've been coming here forever and never leave with anything. It's stuffed with a lot of new items that can be found at any Spencer's store in the mall... And a lot of vintage items that are overpriced. It's more of a viewing experience and a trip down memory lane, than a shopping experience. The ladies up front aren't the friendliest either. At least they don't charge you to get in like they used to. I think it was like a dime or a quarter. True story. You should definitely stop in, just to see it, but it's not that great. Also, be warned, you're not allowed to take pictures. So lame! read more

There's a lot of goofy stuff here, some sex stuff, and a lot of overpriced vintage stuff, some of which is in really bad shape. This place is really unique. We almost walked by it not knowing what it was. The only thing that stood out and made us stop and look was the Playboy magazines from the 70's and 80's in the window. We walked inside and it was like we entered a time machine. There were barbies from back when I was a kid and even further back. The old lunch boxes were also there. The only thing that stopped me from buying one is the fact that none of them had the thermoses. They had the old Barbie doll cases however they were in horrible condition. I definitely recommend checking this place out. It brought back so many memories. read more

They used to have a branch store in East Village, Manhattan, but closed about two years ago. I am so happy to find this remaining store in New Hope! There are thrift clothes, wigs, collectibles, etc. I picked up some random stocking stuffers for my kids: a nose pencil sharpener where you stick the pencil in the nostrils, nacho cheese mints, a Phillies PEZ dispenser and a zombie finger puppet for my daughter. This is a fun, magical place that is historic when it comes to vintage clothing. I like the gifts and the cute little things all around the store. It can be a bit pricey, but I always try to pick up one cute things in my price range each visit. I almost died once, they had an entire window display dedicated to Peewee Herman. What a gem! I love buying vintage, usually because older clothes are often better made, well-constructed, and use higher quality materials compared to brand new clothes. Spent about 45 minutes here and walked away with a beautiful scalloped edge mink coat *and* a floor length wool opera coat for $175 total. The mink coat dated back to the late 40's and was remarkably well-preserved. For ethical reasons, I would never purchase genuine fur brand new. This is a great place if you like to shop consciously. The ladies at the counter were super helpful and made sure to give me a great deal on my finds. There are lots of kitschy things but the clothes stole the show. It was so fun to sift through them, and the prices were very reasonable. Can't wait to come back! read more

Drove passed this place and the name caught my eye. As my friend and I walked the strip we decided to stop in. It's a quirky store with a ton of vintage knick knacks. As soon as I walked in I noticed the stuffiness then the furs hanging on a rack to the left lol. I did think some the Bachelorette themed stuff was funny. This is a fun and quirky store in the heart of downtown New Hope, PA. I consider it a "must see" for those visiting as it is part of the charm of the area. Expect to see anything from bacon flavored mints to old bomber jackets. Prices are low - high depending on what piques your interest. This store is where you find the most entertaining, random, funny things like EVER from the past 100 years. They have a ton of vintage clothes. Shoes. Cowboy Boots. Records. Action figures. Barbies. Jewelry. Collectibles. Magazines. Mugs. That doesn't even begin to cover everything that they have. Some stuff is totally affordable. Some gets a little pricey. That's life. The staff is also funny and quirky, which makes sense for the shop they're in. They usually play old music. Warning: the door is a tight squeeze, don't eat before you go in! I make it a point to visit this store everytime I visit to New Hope! Beautiful store with hilarious items and the signs are cute and funny about stealing and being on camera and don't make you feel unwelcome like some other stores do. Very thoughtfully laid out and the human analysis machine is very cool and as someone else mentioned, very spot on! Weird name to a vintage shop but it's pretty cool inside. They sell a bunch of vintage clothes, toys, records, and a bunch of random stuff. They do not permit any picture taking inside of the store. We picked up some cool vintage postcards. They were pretty cheap compared to some other shops in town. Verdict - Vintage toys were a bit expensive. A set of KISS dolls were priced over $800 dollars if I remembered correctly. They had some vinyls on sale but a lot of them weren't in good condition. It's a cool store but I didn't like the stuffiness in here. This store could use some ventilation. read more

We made our first trip to New Hope, Pennsylvania and what a joy it was. The highlight of our visit was going into Love Saves The Day shop. What a jaw dropping experience! They had amazing vintage to bring back fond & fun memories of growing up to non stop laughs. What a shopping experience! The staff were amazing. They truly knew their products to give us great insight into the history and value of each item we inquired about. This was truly a highlight of our visit and one we look forward to returning to.
