Had a private lot so parking was easy. Trying to go there for dinner can be tough because of how busy it gets. Like people waiting outside for 20 minutes busy and they don't take reservations so you are going to wait during the rush. Sushi overall is ok. The portions are huge but they tend to over do it with the rice, especially on the rolls. Drinks are standard and the prices seemed fair. Can't say this is the best place for sushi, but it definitely hits the spot if you are craving it. The service is nice and the place is always busy when I go. Worth checking out. read more

I have been here twice and both times was a terrible experience. the service was horrible and the food was rubber and tasted old. the place is too small for it to be a sushi bar and the servers seem to not know their job very well. The second time that i attend there me and my party waited for almost two hours to be seated, for the first forty five minutes was because the other couple were running late, no big deal but we had asked for a table the minute we got there. the server was rude to us and did not treat us respectfully, they also seated others that showed up after us because they were only two people or four, we were six. when we finally decided to leave we told them that we have had it and that we are leaving, that's when they said that they just had a table ready for us. it took for us to say we were leaving for them to get a table for us. we said no. i personally will not go back to this place again. read more

We hit up Love on a Friday night at 7, and when I saw how full the parking lot was, I was worried. It was packed. But we got a table within 15 minutes- awesome. Loved the interior- it's nice enough that your outing feels like a real date, but not so nice that you'd have to change your clothes for the occasion. Loved the creative rolls here- the Las Vegas and the sweet honey rolls are definitely worth trying. The non-sushi-eating person in our party loved the bulgogi plate. The gyoza and mizo soup were also big hits. Prices are reasonable and the portions are hearty. Sticking with water left us with a $40 bill for 2. We stayed for almost 2 hours and weren't hassled about leaving, which was nice. We will be returning! read more

Santa Clarita is a desert within a valley surrounded by mountains several tens of miles away from the closest ocean. Not exactly the ideal place to get quality, fresh sushi. However, this is my go-to place for sushi, and it's actually not that bad. The parking lot is huge, so parking is not a big problem. Since this is one of the better (if not the best) sushi places in the SCV, the wait times for dinner can get pretty long. I haven't sat and eaten in the restaurant in a couple of months. I usually get to-go. The staff can be hit or miss I think. Some days they are right on even when they're packed. Other days, once the food is dropped off, you might not see them until the check, so it varies. Food wise, the fish quality is decent. I'm by no means an expert on fresh fish and being able to taste the difference between exceptional fish. But what I can say: it doesn't suck :) I usually only order the specialty rolls. They're reasonably priced (~$10). I've tried many different rolls, some of the ones that I remember: baked scallop rolls (scallop rolls served with baked/fried pieces of scallops and some kind of tomato salad, super tasty) and the rainbow roll (California roll type with a variety of different types of fish on top). You really can't go wrong with any of the rolls, they're all pretty good. My recommendation for this place, if you can help it, just order it to-go. Their to-go service is quick and tastes just as delicious without all the hassle of waiting for a table and being served. To-go service only takes about 30-45 minutes depending on how busy they are. You'll save a lot of time and can have a nice delicious sushi meal at home without the hassle! Visited for the first time while visiting a friend in Valencia and had an enjoyable visit. Ordered the Palmdale Roll, the Baked Salmon Roll, and the Crunch Roll! The serving size was especially generous for a sushi place and the presentation was great! The flavors, however, are not really distinct and kind of get lost in the amount of sauce and rice these use. Considering the price and serving size, you get plenty for your money and it fills you up. We also had their green tea ice cream which was awesome! The wait staff was polite but could be more friendly. Overall, I enjoyed my visit but won't be coming back. read more

I got really sick with food poisoning after eating a raw oyster there and more complications came my way. It all changed the way I think about raw seafood and where to get them. Now, I will careful choose where I go for sushi. And there are different quality grades of raw fish restaurants get. U get what u pay for is exactly what it is when it comes to good sushi. IF u want the best, Maru is a good one we have tried. And BEWARE, they did over charged us for something we did not order. Luckily, I always look over my bill. But my husband most likely don't. And I think the waitress intentionally give the bill to the man. Make sure u double check ur bill. I think it was more on purpose, but i give them the benefit of the doubt. The sushi tastes amazing, my husband even said that the spicy bake salmon roll was one of the best rolls her has ever had! The restaurant itself is nice, clean, and laid out well. But I gotta say service and their policy sucks!!!! my family and I, 5 adults and 1 baby (she's 7 months old) went to dinner here and we were all done eating and asked for our check. We checked it out and was appalled by their service fee policy. They charged a service fee of 18%. I asked why they had charged us for the service fee and the waitress replied by saying. "we charge service fee if we serve more than 6 people". Hmmm....How did they "serve" my 7 month old daughter? All she did was sit on their high chair and she didn't even touch the table! Gawd I miss this place!! I only lived in Valencia for a few months but this became my second home. I loved sitting at the sushi bar and chatting. Or just stuffing my face. The Love Special handroll was a must. Every time! Tuna, yellowtail, tempura crunchies, mayo, and hot sauce all rolled up in the biggest handrolls you will ever see! Veggie Tempura roll, or just the veggie tempura would always please. They have good lunch specials, too. I would usually get the veggie tempura and spicy tuna roll. Soup, salad, and rice for only $8! I would generally wind up taking some home with me, and that's at lunch. They are very generous with their portions. This place welcomes birthday parties. They'll take your picture and put it on the wall. But, then you're subject to the scrutiny of the diners forever!!! **Insert evil laugh** The only bad is that this place is so small. There's no room to wait for a table-at all-you have to stand outside no matter what the weather is like. Oh well, pop next door for some margaritas! read more

Gotta review this place - it's my heart. (Pun intended.) This place's motto is on the menu: "Best Sushi, Lowest Price." And if you're in the North Valley/Valencia area, it's pretty hard to argue otherwise. I've been a regular more or less since they opened and they've consistently delivered serious bang for the buck for over five years. A word of warning: come HUNGRY as they do NOT skimp on the portions of anything. And if you don't get beer/sake you can stuff your face for around $20 per person. If you're a purist, the mainstay sushi pieces are solid across the board. But don't miss the Baked Green Mussels or the Lyons Roll. And whatever you do, please get the Love Special Hand Roll. I've been to Nobu, Katsu-Ya, Nozawa, all that trendy ish and trust me - it's the best $5 item on any sushi menu anywhere. Spicy tuna, crab, crunch, and a little bit of pixie dust. Sounds too easy, but the flavor and crunch literally explode in your mouth. The only thing keeping me from giving this place five stars is the service, which ranges from average to miserable. But that's how good the food is - they could hire Helen Keller as their only server and I'd still go out of my way to eat there. read more

I have been coming to this place for almost 6 years. I drive to place from the SF valley. I showed up at 9:20 PM and they told me they were closing at 9:30 because they had a "business meeting". I sadly turned around and as I was walking out I realized I would at least get an appetizer to go. Holy Halibut! The sizes are very generous and sushi is very reasonably priced. I love albacore and the albacore sushi is HUGE and under 3 dollars! If you want big portions...this is the place to go. I get sashimi when i go and everything is always very fresh. My friend who goes with me loves their lobster rolls. They have a nice selection of specialty rolls. The place gets really packed and it has limited seating but definitely worth the wait! Some of the waitresses have great personalities others not so much. read more

Yes,.....I drive from Studio City (home of sushi row) to Newhall to have fabulous and affordable sushi. Why do I drive that far when I have Sushi Dan down the street? The answer is $$$$$$!!! You are paying a lot of money for sushi on the boulevard for the essentially the same sushi you can get at Love Sushi & Roll. As a matter of fact, Love Sushi & Roll opened a restaurant in La Crescenta on Foothill, so now I don't have to drive so far!! And for those who point out how much gas it takes to drive so far...well, I see it like this.... I'd rather pay $3.50 for a gallon of gas to drive 20 minutes North than to pay $35 more for sushi on the blvd. It just makes economic sense. read more

I wish I could say I loved this place, I really do. The restaurant is only a few blocks from home. There are no horror stories here, the staff was friendly and attentive, the place was clean, there was nothing horrible about the food. It just wasn't very good. I did find the pop music loud and annoying, and the large TVs showing the game a distraction. I have reliably found that an order of salmon nigiri sushi will tell me right away about the quality of the restaurant. The pieces arrived and the salmon was far too large, probably double the size they should be. They completely overpowered the rice, but more importantly, it lacked the firmness and freshness I expected. The salmon just didn't taste fresh and the texture was too soft. We did enjoy the Tempura rolls, once we found them buried under a pile of Tempura crunchies. Tasty, but as a reverse roll (rice on the outside) the pieces stuck together and tore. I have to admit, reverse rolls are a bit of a pet peeve of mine. The seaweed wrap is meant to contain the roll and keep your fingers clean. The rice on the outside may have contributed to the overly sweet taste we found for all the food. The worst item was by far the Tuna Rolls. Easy right? Pieces of tuna wrapped in rice and seaweed. The tuna rolls looked like cat food. They must use the same minced tuna they use for the spicy tuna rolls. I'm not saying this is wrong, but it lacked texture and taste. Again, the rice outside made it sticky to eat and too sweet. I think they use the low sodium soy sauce only, which just takes away from the flavor and adds to sweetness, and wasabi was close to tasteless. I'm afraid I'd put Love in the same category as food court sushi, if you want a mock crab and mayo Cali roll it's fine, but if you want real sushi I would suggest you look elsewhere. read more

I've never yelped but after my experience here I felt I needed to, the reason I'm feeling the need to is to save your money and support literally any other sushi joint in the area! I don't know if it was a rough day for the staff but anyhow me and my fiancé came by after a long day put our order in and waited patiently. Mind you they do close at 10 I came in around 9 or so, overall the experience here was definitely something that didn't have us feel comfortable. I saw my server one more time after we put in the order, I had to ask another server for a refill on water. Meanwhile we had two different other servers come by and drop off the food. So by this point my only complaint was not seeing my server for a refill. Mind you I myself serve and they were not at all busy to say "oh they're busy it's fine" it was me and 2 other tables. So fast forward we were enjoying our dinner meanwhile it's about 9:20 and they start cleaning everything up around us. Again cool I don't mind I get it you wanna go home after a long shift, but then coming up dropping off a box and bill. Immediately getting the discomfort of feeling rushed, I honestly took my time because for two people a bill of $90 I was damn right gonna get my money's worth especially if you try and rush me. So after getting full I boxed up what we had left and took my card out to pay and I kid you not as soon as I did they came to pick it up and ran it right away. It seemed as the owner was just putting in the last tips for the night and wanting to get it done and over with. By this point it's around 9:35 I tipped more than I should've, it was mainly to cover for the chef's cause the food wasn't bad it was mainly the overall service. It was a huge disappointment being hungry all day and getting treated as if I was there for just a California Roll. I'll throw in that they're definitely dressed well nice white dress up shirt but don't be scared to get it alittle dirty and do your job as a server, I personally will hand wash it for you if that's the issue. Lol anyway like I said might of caught them on a wrong night just sharing my experience. Ichi roll had real crab inside and shrimp on top. The crab was savory and the shrimp was sweet. It was light and refreshing. Had no avocado taking up any space in the roll, which I prefer. The fresh oyster were impressive. I seldom order oyster for fear it wouldn't be fresh or would be gritty. The fresh oysters here are so good! My sushi was prepared by Charles. He was nice enough to offer hot sauce when he saw that I did not touch my side of wasabi. The servers were nice enough too. They seem to have a warmer attitude here than the Canyon Country location. Even gave me apple slices with peanut butter and chocolate syrup. Ample parking. No wait for seating during peak lunch hours. More seating areas at this location than the Canyon Country location. read more
