Not a single employee has any sense of urgency about anything. Every task is performed at a snail's pace. The staff talk to you like they're your parent and you're a toddler. Mommy knows best, while you, the simple child know nothing. For a while I was able to avoid these dreadful interactions by using the self service kiosk. It has its own set of irritants but it's legions more pleasant than dealing with a postal worker. I would intentionally go when they were closed so I could interact as minimally as possible. Lately though, the kiosk is out of service more often than not and if it's operational, the package drop off chute is locked, rendering the kiosk useless for the only reason I step foot in this awful establishment. The last straw was a morning I lugged a sack of packages inside, only to find the chute locked for the second time that week! A postal worker heard my frustration and had the nerve to accost me from behind the wall like a rude, petty Wizard of Oz. I was spending several thousand dollars a month shipping with the post office, but I have found a new home in UPS where I'm treated like a valuable customer, not an annoyance.

The line, whether it's only a couple people long or outside the front door, moves at a snails pace. I've literally waited in line here for over a half hour at times. I've also noticed recently that the cost of postage to send things through USPS is just skyrocketing. Seriously..I've gotten cheaper quotes from UPS..even FedEx at times. I don't understand why their pricing is getting so ridiculous. This is the Mushroom House in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Cincinnati. The amount of detail is really breathtaking: circular steel steps, deck rails of wood shingles, stained glass windows, tiled ceilings... of course, I had to snap some pics. How often do we come to Cin City. The original owner/builder by the name of Terry Brown has passed away in 2008. It was started to get built by architect Terry Brown in 1992 and completed in 2006. Terry Brown him self resided in it until his passing in 2008. This house looks like a mushroom from a certain angle, and like an owl from another. It is a fairytale house in the real world. There's so much fine detail, there's no wonder it had taken this genius man 14 years to complete this artistic masterpiece of a home. The spiral orange stair case was chained off not allowing access to the public. There was a car parked in the driveway as well as a surveillance camera. They also had a "no trespassing" sign. The land around, although very minimal is very well groomed and well kept. Something tells me there are people who currently reside here. I don't know how I would feel about living in a home that gets so much attention and that is always being photographed. The Mushroom House is a must see in Cincinnati. That is not their fault for how long it takes. However I said I am picking up a package and I have the tracking number. She said "well why would it be here?" Ma'am because we got an email saying we would have to sign for it and it was at the post office. She derserves the greatest of praise and we thank her sincerely. We had scheduled Premium Forwarding on line starting in mid January and also put a yellow card in our mail box at 7779 Glenover Dr to hold the mail starting Jan 9 until Premium Forwarding was to start. However the carrier continued to deliver the mail into our 7779 box until a neighbor called and said our box was running over. We had our daughter pick up our mail and send to us. I called and was fortunate to get Ashley on the phone. She understood the situation and made corrections to stop delivery to 7779 and start Premium Forwarding. She corrected the overcharges for Forwarding even when there was nothing to forward. We certainly hope she will be there next winter to assist us in obtaining this Premium Forwarding without the problems of the past.
