All I saw was nice green and yellow leafs everywhere I loved the colors especially with how sunny and bright the day was. They had this really cool bridge you can look around on and check out the water. The bridge did have some gaps in the center so hope no one drops anything as you definitely won't be getting it back. Besides that though the bridge was very stable. There was also signs of information/history about the park too if you like to read about that stuff. It looked like there were a few paths you can take to walk around doesn't seem like you could get lost easy. There was this one cool path where you can see nothing but yellow leafs around you on the path and it looked so cool. I also found this really old hut looked interesting too. Just watch your step but otherwise I didn't see any difficult paths. I would definitely come back to this park when I come back to visit again.

AllTrails marked it as easy, but I'd say it's more of a medium. A boarded section washed out from a recent flood, so it took some maneuvering to get through. Also a few big trees down. The house on the property that was built in 1941 is now a museum. There is a paved trail along the river, it has beautiful views and it's short at 0.75 miles. There are trails, meadows, wetlands, a garden, and pavilions. We visited for the Easter egg hunt event. They did a great job with dispersing the Easter eggs around for the kids. The park was large and gorgeous, perfect for events like that one. The trail was nice; however, there was a creepy dilapidated shack on it. I heard that they do a haunted trails event in the fall, which I am interested in going!

Parking is abundant and adjacent to the playground. Benches and shaded areas align the playground with a covered pavilion within walking distance. Parents of toddlers need to watch as some of the older kids/tweens were climbing all over the smaller play structures. Not the fault of the town but not appreciated.

Lots of people use the pavilion and grounds for various types of events. I have been there on various occasions for events both large and small. Permission is needed from the Park and Rec department for any group activity so there aren't any conflicts. However, we have run into some of the sports team parents and/or coaches get upset when others want to use it. The skate park mentioned in previous posts got closed down because of equipment failure, kids treating it too harshly and the Parks and recreation department not maintaining it like they should. It also ended up causing issues for neighbors who lived next to it, so it was best to remove it. The swimming area has been shut down for years because of invasive vegetation in the water that was hard to control and deal with. The kids playground was recently redone with money raised by individuals. It was a pricey one for what they got. Not long after it was completed, they had to repair parts of it because of weight and age limits. A good playground should be sturdy. From what I see of it, I see it breaking down again. It doesn't look like it will withstand the winter elements. Despite the few negatives, it is a nice park.

It also borders five towns: Danbury, New Milford, Brookfield, Sherman,and New Fairfield. This is a very popular place for all kinds of water sports, and bass and trout fishing. There are two state boat launches and many marinas for docking. The shoreline has so many magnificent homes, and don't be surprised if you see a seaplane landing or taking off on the lake. This lake usually gets very busy on the weekends in the summer.

Launch at Lattin's Cove was solid jammed and the number of rude idiots just simply ASTOUNDING. No courtesy for other boaters/pwc's whatsoever. Couple of morons were camped out on the dock and screwed up everyone else's put in/take out routine. No surprise to see the NJ and NY registrations on their PWCs. While coming back in, 3 idiots on PWC's came screaming past us in the no wake zone to "beat" us to the ramp, then they sat there blocking one side of the launch. One fellow asked nicely if they could move over just a bit so he could launch his pwc and he got snapped at by one of the tattoo queens... "we're leaving in a couple of minutes". Definitely will not go back here on a weekend anytime soon. Very sad because it never used to be like this.

There are several barbecue pits around and trees to gather under so you could really have a nice picnic here, even if you didn't go to the sandy beach area. It's peaceful except for the jetskis that drone endlessly in circles close to shore. They are really loud so don't expect to enjoy peace and quiet in nature. But if you're there when they aren't around, you'll have a very nice time.
