Bennet park which is attached to Meckauer Park is always filled with geese poop or dog poop or poop of some sorts, but Meckauer Park by comparison has everything. A dog park/pen of sorts, a basket ball court, a toddler play ground and a children's play ground, and a walker's loop that is half a mile a loop. There are all kinds of people enjoying their evening exercises and sometimes there is even a group holding a birthday party of sorts or a catered event. It's endearing that a tiny park this size does and serves so many people and provides activities for them! That's why I really appreciate this park.

While coming back in, 3 idiots on PWC's came screaming past us in the no wake zone to "beat" us to the ramp, then they sat there blocking one side of the launch. One fellow asked nicely if they could move over just a bit so he could launch his pwc and he got snapped at by one of the tattoo queens... "we're leaving in a couple of minutes". Definitely will not go back here on a weekend anytime soon. Very sad because it never used to be like this.

I carried my bike past about 6 trees and each time I saw another tree blocking the trail. I came across a clean up crew that told me the downed trees went all the way to Green Haven. I was 3 miles east of Green Haven when the mess started. There is also debris along the entire section which I was fortunate not to get a flat tire. The cleaning crew told me they have only 4 people and they will try to hire a contractor to clear the trees. There is no way a crew of 4 people could handle this. We got on the trail at the Brewster Trail head, which is located at Castle Park in Brewster. There is a small parking area for the trail right near the entrance. The trail is nice and wide and runs alongside a disused rail line (the Maywood line, which gave the trail it's name) and for part of it, you can see in-use Metro North lines on the other side. We went north from Tonetta Lake and enjoyed the quiet and the scenery. It's very peaceful. There are large sections where there is no shade, so in the summer it could get hot so make sure you bring a hat, wear sunscreen and have some water with you so you don't roast. I love having trails like this nearby, especially a nice new trail like this. The only thing that would make it better would be if it could actually connect directly to the Putnam Trail once it hits the heart of Brewster.

They're easy to walk and follow, with some viewpoints. However, due to the many leaves, most views aren't the greatest. Even though that's the case, it's still worth checking out the trail. Many other alternatives exist, including basketball, baseball, tennis, a playground, and the Tea House lodge, which the park recreation can be reached out to for events. I'm thrilled with the options offered. For the community and beyond, this is a beautiful park to visit.

This little park is a Mt Kisco resident location but we were somehow able to sneak in without a problem. There's plenty of benches, picnic tables, a pond with a pretty fountain, basketball courts, baseball fields, walking trails, you have it all! They even have wood available for fire pits. The china on the lower level in casing was beautiful and the colors chosen have a very old home comfort feel. Takes you back a bit to another time. Lighting for images is great here and there is a handicap parking close to the ramps which make entry and exits very easy. They offer recycling and trash in their kitchen. What an amazing experience we had this weekend at this campground! We visited during Father's Day…read moreweekend, which also happens to be bear mating season, so just know, you will see bears. From what we heard, bear sightings are common throughout the season. This is an off-grid campground, although there are water pumps in some areas and plenty of pit toilets throughout the campground. Park Rangers drive through every couple of hours until around 9 PM. The location is absolutely beautiful, check-in was easy, and firewood was available for $7 per bundle. Each campsite comes with its own fire ring. We stayed at site #38 and had gorgeous views. It was shady, peaceful, and in a great location. We also noticed that sites #11 and #12 looked very nice. We didn't get a chance to explore the entire park because we mainly wanted to relax, but you can easily walk the campground roads and explore the different camping areas. Around our site there was plenty of space for kids to play, and site #42 looked like it had a whole area to itself. We will definitely be coming back! Don't forget your bear spray. At night, especially the first night, the sounds of nature made it feel like you were in the middle of a jungle! The second night was much quieter. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unplug, relax, and enjoy the outdoors.

Sone of the trails get you to views of the Catskills and Taconic mountains. There are a lot of streams, and lots of places for grills and cooking. The land once belonged to the Scatacook Tribe.
