When we are stopping for gas while traveling we are not particularly loyal to any one brand. We are always on the lookout for Costco because we are members and they are usually on the low end of the prices in an area. But if there aren't any of them around I look for low prices, clean restrooms, uncrowded pump areas, a decent quick mart, and friendly service. There are some brands that immediately come to mind and, in my experience, Loves is one that seems very consistent. What I found to be a pleasant surprise was that this Love's location not only had one of the lowest prices in the area, but it is located in Illinois just south of the border with Wisconsin. When I think about lower gas prices in different states, Illinois is not one that usually comes to mind. This one appears to be an exception! read more

We always try to stop at loves travel because of the dog parks. Thank you so much for having one. My dog loves a break after a long car ride. However, after gasing up and playing in the dog park, I went inside to buy some cold coffee drinks for the rest of our 13-hour drive. Before i even had a chamce to tell him how much we enjoyed the dog park , The clerk started commenting on my fake coffee purchase and telling me how he had never and would never spend any of his money on starbucks coffee. He just wouldn't stop berating me about it, and then he asked me if i was just going to guzzle them there. He was very rude. It was very upsetting read more

BUSY fuel isle! Nice store, friendly staff, Hardee's inside. Most Love's ladies restrooms are clean. This one however was NOT clean. Toilet paper on floor, dirty toilet seats, overflowing trash can, etc. could be the time of day. It's 5:30 pm and this is a very busy Love's. read more

Loves gas stations are typically pretty clean. It's always nice to stop in to Loves and grab a few things while I'm on the road. The bathrooms are usually pretty clean.... this one however.... was not. Hopefully they will keep up with their bathroom logs or something. read more

Cheap gas @ this truck stop... but the card readers at the pumps weren't working and the workers were too lazy to post a sign saying so... (so we drove to two pumps before realizing). everyone had to go in and wait in a long line ... then wait again when the pumping was done. the gas station itself is not exactly right off the highway, it turns into a 5 minute drive because their entrance is on a side road. waste of time. read more

As a local in the area, this is my go to spot for cheap gas. If you are heading south east into Chicago, this is the cheapest "oasis" like spot you will find for gas. Like the other reviewer, it is not uncommon to experience problems at the pump (i.e. having to go inside to get your receipt). There is a Hardee's...yum! In terms of being 5 minutes off the interstate. It is a truck stop, it is not unreasonable to get off a ramp, immediate stoplight, short drive to the service drive. read more

I arrived on a Wednesday at 3 pm. I requested a shower room and the clerk said she needed to get a shower clean. A person came out of a room behind the desk and asked what showers needed to be cleaned. I waited 15 minutes while the need for showers piled up. Once there, it was evident that they simply swept the dirt under the sink. They also need new towels. The one I had was about 60 grit. The lines need to be painted in the truck parking lot too. The Loves portion is obviously poorly managed and the main reason for the crappy review. The Hardees was good with nice employees. read more

I am a truck driver. And travel a lot, make stops at truck stop at least twice a day. Today I stopped this location to take a shower on 7-12-13. And there was a nice girl with smiling face and very polite. I think her name was Kayla. I asked for a shower and she told me that she is going to rush for the cleaning. And asked me to wait 5 more minutes. Then literally 3-4 minutes later she called me and gave me a shower and also asked me if I need an extra towel. I took the towel and had a nice shower. Then I realized that she was cleaning the showers herself and as well as taking care of customers. I am really thankful for Kayla. Because its really nice experience to have a nice, polite service especially when you are tired....;))) thanks Kayla again. read more

This place is OK. Cheap gas prices and a nice place to stop on the way to WI. Ive only been inside once and I dont know if its like this all the time but there was flies EVERYWHERE. It was pretty crazy. My boyfriend and I each got a hotdog and by the time we paid and sat in the Hardee's to eat them, they were really cold and my boyfriend had to take them over and microwave them. read more

I liked it. Hardee's burger was good. Having a little room for a bathroom stall gave me a moment's respite from the world I appreciated. Easy on off without a toll booth. (Turn left at light to find driveway). Gas cheap. They've got their own tanker trucks I saw. read more

This was my biggest complaint......you can't just hop off the interstate, it is several minutes by the time you wait at the stop light, go down the side road and then the long entrance. LOTS of pumps-great! Cheaper gas also a plus. read more

Just went to the Hardee's at Loves to get breakfast for the family.... Not only did we not get the sandwiches that we ordered... but my breakfast sandwich was pathetic. It was a reject that should never have been put out the window even if it had been the correct sandwich. The biscuit had uncooked gluey biscuit all over it from another biscuit and smashed into the bottom of it ... the egg LITERALLY looked like the left over egg from another sandwich... I tried to eat it I did... but that gluey biscuit was in the sandwich too... I couldn't even chew it and it stuck to the top of my mouth. it was GROSS.... now I would have told THEM all this.... but I called six times over the course of an hour... and the phone was not answered and after a certain number of rings it sends you into a circular system that doesn't allow for a message..... so.... I tried a corporate number... which told me they were closed for Good Friday.... that's nice... but it didn't offer me even the chance to leave a message. I PAID for a breakfast that was INEDIBLE... and I cannot get ahold of a single person to tell them about their deplorable food. This is just simply unacceptable!! read more

Traveling through the area from a trip to MN, my co-worker and I stopped to use the restrooms and grab some cash for tolls. Neither of us had ever been to this location before and were not expecting anything special. Boy were we surprised. From the moment we walked in the door on the afternoon of April 20th, 2016, we were met with the most friendly welcome we have ever received at a gas station. The clerks behind the counter greeted both of us in an incredibly warm and friendly manner. We were made to feel special, welcomed, important even. We didn't engage but for a few seconds but that's all it took for us to realize that this place had the right idea on how to treat their consumers. Our exit was no different. We were thanked warmly and made to feel like what little time we spent there mattered. I don't get through this area often but I won't hesitate for a moment to stop at this Love's location again. Job very well done. And if someone from Love's actually reads this, please make sure to thank that ladies working that afternoon (between 4pm-6pm), they did a great job! read more
