This was the most frustrating purchasing experience of my life. I won the bid for a set of 2 Samsonite suitcases, drove 40 minutes to Santa Ana to get my products and when I got there, there was a MASSIVE crack in one of the suitcases. The photos provided on the website DID NOT accurately represent the damage inflicted upon the suitcase. The only photo that had ANY semblance of damage showed a scratch/mark and did not demonstrate that the integrity of the entire suitcase was compromised. When I picked up the suitcase, I inspected it very carefully before leaving the warehouse. What I discovered was not a scratch or a mark, but a deep crack that rendered it completely useless for an actual flight. The fact that this massive crack did not show up in the listing was incredibly misleading and dishonest on the part of Loveseat. I showed this crack to one of the warehouse employees immediately and he agreed that this damage was not visible from the photos nor mentioned in the auction. He accepted the returned item, wrote down himself that the item was damaged and requested we contact the office to process a refund. Some days later I received an email saying they rejected my refund request because sales were final and the product would be sold as-is. The customer support person, Ernesto, was incredibly unhelpful and only kept sending me template emails saying that the pictures listed showed the damage but they really didn't. I never would have paid that much in a cracked suitcase. I drove back to Santa Ana one week later to get the product that I had purchased since I had left it there to be returned and the warehouse manager, Phil, agreed that it made no sense that they didn't want to refund me, since the listing photos were not clear and the suitcase was obviously damaged. He said he would talk to Jenny, the owner, and that someone would be reaching out to me after that. As expected, I never heard back from them. They are incredibly disorganized and the second time I went there, there were 2 people who had purchased items that had already been sold in previous auctions so were left without their products. I bought an item that was broken, defective, unusable. On their listing it said condition "unknown" yet it was obvious by looking at the item that they were selling a damaged/broken item. I reached out to them letting them know the condition of the item and their resolution is they offer to sell the item again for me and I would make 60% from the sale! Shameless, not only do they not acknowledge they're selling damage goods, but that their practice is to continue doing so. Be ware of this shady company. Scammers. They sold me a used old nonworking dusty fan. When sending in a claim for refund they denied it saying they labeled it as damaged but the listing just said "open box" return. Their offer was to take it back and I would make a percentage off the next person to bid... So I can make money off someone else falling for their scam too? No thanks... I believe in Karma. I'm just out $17 bucks but I'm hoping someone else isn't scammed out of more money by these con artists. Response to scammer: I will never be using your website again. It is not at all true that no emails or replies were sent to support@loveseat.com regarding their very odd request to send a picture of your cc after they already charged thousands. I emailed Jenny and Chris the original owners and replied to the same emails support 3 times that was sent about your new process which you do not state anywhere else in your auction pickup or communication and no one is sitting by their phone or computer after a weeklong auction ends and items confirmed paid for after a work day. You really need to please evaluate how you treat customers especially prior ones and reply to us in a timely manner when we reach out. read more

What a horrible experience. A gentleman, of the name of Phil which is a manger of the Santa Ana location is told to be super unprofessional. My client I'm writing this for saw him take tons of merchandise and smoke marijuana next to the building . My client also stated he was super rude and very inconsiderate. The owners never reached out to the employee that I'm writing this for as he's attorney. We will be taking this into further investigation. There is no HR for the company and no one really in charge at that location . Very unfortunate that this happens in today's world . It so happens I started perusing the Orange County items and San Diego items as well... so this past weekend was My First time at the Orange County location for pickup. Ray the manager at the Orange County Location used to work at the LA location. I was surprised to see Him but so happy he got promoted. He will do great things for Orange County. I wanted to mention that I called several times, wrote multiple emails, and was told we are "sorry there is nothing we can do" BEFORE I contacted my credit card company which gave me my money back in full btw. My account "disappeared" and it never was explained why. I just wanted to check on the prices of the things I bought. No one has ever apologized which is fine because buy at your own risk means just that. There is no way these things were ever inspected. EVER. Look at the pictures and read the review. The most DISORGANIZED place I have ever had the displeasure to do business with. I purchased one item on their online auction and drove down from San Diego (2 hours in traffic) on Sat. to pick up the item. I presented my invoice and ID at the counter and then proceeded to wait almost another TWO HOURS to pick up one small item. While I was waiting in the hot sun, I overheard multiple people complaining about the wait time, complaining that people who came WAY after them were being given their items first (same thing happened to me) and finally being told after waiting several hours that their item (s) could not be located. After they had already paid for them of course. There was also a weaselly looking older guy that has a full sized panel truck (think moving van size) that loudly proclaimed he owned a store and was going to resell the items he had purchased at Loveseat. He had a list of well over 100 items that he was picking up yesterday, Saturday. The inherent problem with this is that this obnoxious guy was attempting to monopolize EVERY single worker there to wait on him full time until all his items were pulled from the warehouse. Leaving 22 other people like myself that have only purchased one or two items standing there for hours. This idiot also was standing full on INSIDE the warehouse with his clipboard and as his items were brought out he would open the boxes and check the contents. This guy should have been told (Philip- are you listening?) that he needs to step outside the warehouse and wait in the broiling sun like every other customer, and NO, he is not allowed to waste more time by opening every box and inspecting every item. Additionally, he also tried to take OTHER people's items that were pulled by the workers and set aside. He knew I was staring at him and was on to his game so he then would say 'oh, I guess that's not mine' when I did a double take as he was trying to take someone elses item. He also proceeded to tell an employee, after his 100+ items were brought to him, that he was missing items. But some of the items he claimed to be missing (and the employee told him 'no, I remember giving you that item') were things that I also clearly saw he had received and packed away into the huge truck he had. Note to Loveseat management: People like this that are buying in excess of 10 large items should be told they must pick up their items on Tuesdays and to make an appointment. The reason for this should be obvious- you will then not inconvenience ALL your other customers and make them wait for 2+ hours while this jack a$$ thinks he owns the place and he controls all the employees there just because he has purchased many items. It would also spare Loveseat from being ripped off by people like this guy trying to take advantage of the disorganization and the fact that he is standing INSIDE the warehouse at arms length to other people's items or -as I CLEARLY saw with my own eyes, him rifling through a box on the warehouse floor full of navy blue shirts or something and debating if that was something he wanted to STEAL and slide in with his other purchases unnoticed by Loveseat staff because they are running around the back of the warehouse trying to pull his other items. It would also give staff time to check off each item given to him so he could not claim 2 hours later he is 'missing' a $10 item while 25 other customers have been waiting 2 hrs to pickup their ONE item. I have made many purchases at the San Diego location and that location is a well oiled machine compared to Santa Ana. I have never waited more than 10 min. at the San Diego location to pickup my item (s). The Santa Ana location is woefully understaffed, the warehouse is apparently so disorganized that items that were listed for auction and sold can then not be located when a customer goes to pick them up, and then to let 'customers' (resellers) that purchase so many items it takes multiple hours and multiple staff members to pull the 100+ items run the show to the detriment of all the other customers insured I will certainly never be returning to this location. Hopefully management takes note of these problems and eliminates Saturday pickups for wholesale customers that purchase 100+ items and then stand inside your warehouse trying to steal merchandise while monopolizing all your staff members, and makes these people schedule their pickups for a weekday. And then please add additional staff members to assist in efficiently handling the rest of your customers so they don't have to wait hours for one item. read more

This concept is amazing. I just started out slowly just a lamp for $10.00 that retails for $200.00! I thought there is no WAY they are just going to sell a lamp for $10.00. They did! Then I showed my husband and asked him to just buy from Santa Ana. Well that didn't work sometimes I drive to all 3 locations. San Diego has a wonderful organizational staff. Los Angeles has bigger furniture items the crew is all muscle. Everyone is kind and helpful. Since I made my 1st purchase at Santa Ana. I am really partial to this crew and these guys. Legally no one can assist you loading items into your vehicle. That is completely understandable. Also you only have Tuesday or Saturday for pick up days. But at these prices. I don't know what happened to Loveseat, but they used to have the coolest vintage stuff in town. Now I feel like I'm scrolling through Wayfair, Walmart, etc. I use to be so excited each week to see what new things they had but now I haven't gotten anything in over a year, maybe longer. They now sell only returned items from random retailers, instead of quality vintage unique finds. :( If there is any interesting vintage things, its buried in 50 pages of low quality retail junk. I have purchased items (luggage, a painting, a nightstand, and various household items) on 3-4 separate auctions in Orange County, and have had a great experience each time. The personnel at the pickup location were friendly, fast-moving, and professional. Although I did have some small cosmetic issues with a few items, they are on me. Their website is crystal-clear about the option for bidders to email them with any questions before bidding, and I did not bother. Even so, the imperfections were very minor, and I got the items at a steal. I would have bought them anyway. Normally, my wait when arriving to pick up items has been 10-15 minutes. This past Saturday it was over an hour, otherwise I would have given 5 stars. I'd like to see this business do well; I have a lot more shopping to do! read more

I immediately emailed Loveseat and they told me the following: "we're unable to provide a refund for LOT ##319576 since we confirmed the item is accurately listed as Condition: Unknown with Damaged Tag Photo on the Listing Page" I don't recall seeing that language in the posting and I've purchased a good handful of items from them before. Well... here's the thing with an auction website.. if you have any issues, you are speaking with a bot...so when I have had issues with items, there is the automated response that can leave you frustrated..not such a big deal... but after multiple purchases that left me with damaged or very incomplete products, I have narrowed my purchases to rugs and smaller items that don't have lots of parts or assembly. So when I finally moved into my new house and found the matching area rug that I had been dying to find, you bet I auctioned high for that item. Unfortunately, my change of address was creating a glitch for the loveseat team. My bank was approving the transaction, but loveseat wasn't kicking it out.. I sent over 8 emails during the Wednesday after auction to confirm that this was being managed.. first thing the next morning the charge went through, I went to pick up my items and the rug was not there..you will NEVER be able to have contact with a human being with the exception of picking up your merch...and they are not able to help you with any order issues.. soool.. I email to the bot, only to be told that because my items were not paid for on Wednesday..they gave my rug to another bidder...WTF!? After 8 confirmations of my account.the cc, the billing address.. everything they asked for... they never mentioned they were removing any items.. just arbitrarily took the rug...left me all the other tiddly bit items , that tbh, I would not have purchased if I wasn't getting the rug. It's an hour drive for me to their warehouse.. so I factor that in with any purchases. What really pissed me off the most, was the fact they removed one item, the "best" item... citing the credit card issue, but not all of the items. I really don't it? All the items I bought had multiple bidders... but the rug is what they took off of my list...makes me wonder..are there phantom bidders!? The small items I bought did not go back and forth ...the rug escalated 14 times.. This incident really soured me. I have had at least a half dozen returns on items that are completely damaged beyond repair.. they did offer a refund, but you have to be up there within the week or you are stuck with it..my husband literally is over the gamble.. yet I persevered to find the rug that matched for our new home, only to have it snatched. for the most part, awesome deals on decent items. however...be sure to only bid on items that are store overstock, not customer returned because people are disgusting and return completely used items. just got a cookware set thats been obviously used and abused for $85, with a missing saucepan. the missing item is understandable, but nonstick pans with scratches all over and burned bottoms are not. loveseat - please post more pictures of customer returned items since people are gross and take advantage of return policies. edit: loveseat was responsive and rectified this unfortunate situation to my satisfaction. read more

Unorganized, unresponsive and they simply don't care. If you have a complaint, they will keep sending the same form message over and over - and asking for photos and forms that are unnecessary just to wear you down I'm sure many people just give up in frustration. Remember to take screenshots of your winning bids, because when you get to the warehouse, this MAY help you if your item is missing OR you get something you didn't even bid on (all my experiences). I was actually asked 2x to provide a photo of the item I never received - laughable. This company needs someone to read e-mails and complaints carefully and acknowledge the problem in a pleasant manner and fix it quickly. I get that some people are lousy customers, but that's the trick - give them the boot, but be nice to the folks who obviously have a justified complaint. It's been a week, and no human has contacted me (just the bot). After experiencing this and previous purchases gone awry, I will never use them again. BTW the company is owned by two very well-educated people from prestigious schools, etc. Let's see some of that education applied here. read more
