I stopped working in order to attend medical school in pursuit of a career as a physician. From the nurses to the restaurant staff, to the management and the front desk, I always felt that everyone here put the well-being of the residents first. Whether it was at an afternoon happy hour, a birthday celebration, or an everyday meal, it was clear to me that the residents here were active participants in a vibrant and supportive community. If I were to entrust the well-being of a family member to a senior living community, I would genuinely choose this one without hesitation. My experience here left a positive lasting impression on me that I will carry throughout my career, and I'm grateful to have played a small role in such an incredible community.

I was accused of calling them (my cell records tell a different tale) and attempting to 'coerce" her into signing legal documents!! Someone perjured themselves saying this when I have never even stepped foot on their property, let along called and talked to them. Way out of line for a place that I have never been to. They don't know me, what I look like or what I sound like. I don't even know what the building looks like! While they may think it is okay to interfere in peoples lives, I do not take kindly to defamation and character assassination from people whom I have never laid eyes on. I have had to retain legal counsel in order to correct their misinformation and interference in my life and my family's life. Absolutely unacceptable. Take heed and stay the heck away! This place is overpriced and sticks their noses where it does not belong.

First, let's talk about activities; there are absolutely none!!!! You the family member are 100% responsible for your loved ones activities. Otherwise it's just TV, which most of them can't see or hear, the screen is too small and far away, and the volume is minimal. The owner has the caregivers scrubbing floors and windows more than she has them interacting with the residents. That being said, the home is very clean. And here comes the part they don't want me to talk about: The home does not meet many state standards including safety standards. It all started with a series of unfortunate events: 1. Someone (not us) called DSHS. 2. The owner questioned everyone. 3. DSHS called all the families.... oops we learned a few things. 4. The owner believed we called DSHS. 5. Our mother had her assessment 2 weeks later- The nurse said she was doing better than she was when she moved in. (No change in care which so ever). 6. We were given a 30 day notice that our rates were going to be increased by 25%. 7. We called DSHS and reported a few things that should have been corrected with the first call that was made, and the unjustified increase. 8. DSHS return to the house, due to the safety standards that were not being met. 9. The next day we received a 30 day discharge notice. This was totally against regulations. One of the safety standard that were not being met: The state required her to have two certified caregivers at ALL times. The owner broke this regulation multiple times. And it is currently being investigated whether her caretakers are certified or not. The Director became ill, and since her departure EVERYTHING has gone to hell. Frequent turnover of resident staff, their assisted living accreditation should be revoked as they have unqualified personnel (not medical staff) assisting to cut costs. The food is sub-par, their handicap van breaks down frequently and there is little, if any response from management to complaints or blatant violations. Case in point: Since management didn't want to pay a professional painter to remodel their public spaces, staff have been asked to pick up a brush when they have time. My mom has been living in a ridiculous construction zone for over a month with paint on the floors, paint over signs and fixtures, drop clothes in the hallways etc. If you don't like your parents, send them here! We are finding another place for mom ASAP.

This Adult Family Home is actually Owned and run by a Nurse (RN), which is not always true. Many are run by Nurse Aids (CNAs). The Owner is very kind and did as much as she could to be helpful in arranging for my Dad's care and medical needs. The RN and CNA's who work here follow medical and safety regulations more closely than the nursing home staff, so it was easy to trust that they would provide good care for my Dad. They even helped my Dad discontinue medications that should have been stopped by the nursing home doctor by helping me understand how to talk with my Dad's primary care physician about his medications. I wish I had moved my Dad out of the nursing home and into this Adult Family Home sooner, because he received better care all around.
